I found this place not far from NYU Langone Hospital. It's a small bakery. They have everything listed on their website. I'm a sucker for lemon and raspberries and they happen to have a lemon raspberry cookie. The cookie is a soft cake like cookie. My favorite kind. It was very big. Overall a good cookie. I would have liked more lemon flavor to cut the sweetness. I also tried the snickerdoodle. Nice soft cookie but thinner than the lemon cookie. Great cinnamon flavor. Not overpowering cinnamon flavor. I also got the banana muffin. It has nice banana flavor but a very dense muffin. It maybe a little strange at first but not bad. Overall nice bakery. read more

Absolutely incredible tasting gluten free brownies . These are better than normal brownies. They're lighter and richer in the same bite and so chocolatey . AJ chocolate chip cookie was marvelous soft chewy thin you could almost say dietetic, but it was great. The two of them were evaporated even before I got home. What a nice place for Murray Hill and anybody who's thinking of coming here it's small, but the menu is big. Jen is delightful explained everything that she had and recommended a few favorites. I was amazed that the wide selection the menu is on the wall on the right or you could come here and take a look wholeheartedly recommend this place for any desserts. Your favorite gf/vegan bakery's favorite gf/vegan bakery! In total honesty, I've always been a skeptic of vegan desserts. I've typically found them too dry, too dense, or just off flavor-wise. Baker's Recovery has me retracting any of my previous words. The BROWNIE. I'm still thinking about it hours later. It was fudgey, moist, and tasted just like any other brownie (even better than some of the non-gf ones I've had). Then, there's the tookie-- a play on a cookie taco stuffed with a bunch of treats like marshmallows and pretzels. Think a compost cookie meats a camp fire. Truly a fun treat that any adult or kid would love. As I munched on my treats, what made Baker's Recovery a truly special place were the people. Jenn, the owner, is one of the nicest small business owners I've met in NYC. She's doing something special in her kitchen, and creating a space where anyone who's been limited because of a dietary restriction can find joy in eating dessert again. Luz up front was there to help me figure out what desserts I actually wanted to try with a full run down of the menu, including dealing with all my questions. By the end of my time, I had been there 40 minutes just chatting about the bakery, favorite food spots, and life. I thought my Murray Hill days were over once I hit my late 20s, but Baker's Recovery has changed that now.
