Saturday morning, tourist season the place was packed! Some of the best coffee I've ever had. Sour dough bread toast, two over easy eggs and thick cut maple bacon. Simple, but sometimes the simplest things are the most complicated. Great prices, and a wonderful and hardworking staff. There is inside seating, and there is on the terrace over looking the runway and fuel farm. Went twice. First time we were in the terrace outside, second time inside. Worth the trek just for the coffee. Did I mention just how good the coffee was?!

Then we wait another 45 minutes for our food. The food was so mid. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes, which sounds good but was so average, almost bad. My sister and mom enjoyed their omlets. My dad got the huevos rancheros which he didnt like, way too many beans. The people who work here are nice but this place is so painfully slow it's not even funny. It was cool to see the airplanes take off/land. Overall, i would not and will not come back here, and i do not recommend it unless you like to play the waiting game.

For this visit, some people in my group ordered the matcha waffle: matcha silky cream, chocolate drizzle, topped with fresh strawberries, while others including myself got the ube waffle: ube silky cream, drizzled condensed milk, and topped with fresh blueberries, bananas, raspberries, and coconut shavings. By default, these were on the liege waffle which is personally my favorite since it has a crispy and caramel like consistency. The ube cream was very creamy and smooth. The condensed milk was a great touch, as it acted like a syrup. The fresh fruits helped balance out the sweetness. The matcha one was also good. It reminded me a little of the dubai chocolate combination, mostly because of the colors. I've been seeing them add more and more drinks to the menu - mostly ones that resemble the waffle flavors. The prices have not changed much and they're still reasonable for the quality and quantity. There is plenty of seating in the lower area of their store. It is off of Thayer street so depending on the day, parking can be tough.

I ordered the crème brûlée coffee, and while it wasn't bad, it mostly just tasted like regular coffee without that rich, dessert like flavor you'd hope for. On the other hand, the tiramisu latte was actually really delicious. Honestly, I wish I could order a whole cake of just the tiramisu, it was the highlight for me. You definitely get more cake than the coffee, but it worked in its favor and tasted much better than the crème brûlée drink. It was nice to try, especially since everything looks so aesthetically pleasing, but it feels more like a place you visit for the vibe rather than a go to coffee run.

Ruggie's breakfast was the perfect place to start our morning exploring Cape Cod…read more The restaurant is built into a home, much like many of the small businesses in New England. The gentleman behind the breakfast bar was very nice and ensured the coffee was full at all times! The breakfast nachos were filling and the fresh fruit was delicious! Three of us visited Ruggies June 19th and were severely disappointed by the service from start to finish. Upon walking in, we, along with other customers, weren't greeted or acknowledged for fifteen minutes. We noticed the place being busy, but not overcrowded. Reaching twenty minutes of no acknowledgement, we decided to sit at a newly open spot at the bar seating instead of a table. We still weren't tended to or even looked at for another fifteen minutes. When the server finally approached us, she took our drink orders and was very short. No hello. No greeting. Nothing. Three minutes after taking our simple drink order, she came back to ask us again what we got. About five minutes after our drinks were served, one of us said "whenever you get a chance, we're ready to order food please." to which she replied in a rude manner "I'm sure you are." And then proceeded to give a snarky smile and walked away from us. We didn't get to put in a food order for another fifteen minutes after that rude interaction. While we are rather patient and understanding (all of us working in food service) this was beyond rude! We noticed a slight purposeful shift in her tone after that, assuming she realized just how rude of a remark that was. But it still seemed extremely fake. Especially after watching her toss menus and mishandle mugs/cups (putting a mug under her ARMPIT and then putting it into the clean mug stand). Food safety fears her because it's not followed at ALL. To top things off, our side of bacon was overcooked and cold, like it was sitting aside in the kitchen for some time. The only time our server came by to check on us was to check out; offering a box for said untouched bacon. To which we replied "no, because the bacon was burnt and cold." She did apologize and comped it from our bill, which we appreciated. The corned beef was severely lacking with mushy potatoes, resembling a burnt pancake. One of us ordered two over easy eggs and received one over medium. Another ordered French toast, which was ironically cold but resembling a microwaved product. Everything else was mediocre, which shocked us since we previously read glowing reviews for both food and ambiance. Our server didn't give us silverware or new placements and napkins until we received our food and HAD to ask. The coffee was extremely weak. And every employee looked bothered at the sight of each other and customers. It made us feel like we were a burden just being there. After leaving, we read up on some previous reviews and were shocked (but also not at all given the nature of their servers) to see the owner of the restaurant firing back at negative reviews! Calling customers "experiencing psychosis" and "needing help." If anything beforehand didn't urge you to turn away from this establishment, let that be what does! If I could give zero stars, I would.

All the road work going on MA 28 was also incentive, as we could get there without traveling on it from where we were staying. We were also told several times to get their grilled breads (if you weren't gluten-free, of course). The complimentary coffee in the waiting area was a nice tough as well. It certainly lived up to the recommendations. We had maybe a 3 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday morning. There were lots of specials on the blackboards on the side wall. Coffee came out quickly; it was piping hot and mellow, with very frequent refills. I did try the bread, an apple-cranberry, grilled/toasted medium with a pat of butter for extra yum. I opted for the hash Benedict with fruit instead of potatoes. I got potatoes by mistake anyway, but they immediately brought over the fruit. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise was flavorful, and the hash was crisp and not greasy at all. Now it's my turn to be a good friend and pass the recommendations forward for others.

We've also enjoyed omelettes and the breakfast quesadilla. It's a warm, friendly breakfast spot that's easy to love.
