I came here for the gelato, but I was equally impressed with the other confections they sell, in particular those gelato whoopie pies. I can't remember how many flavors they have, it's at least a dozen. We were allowed to sample them, and the lady behind the counter suggested some flavor combinations that either she liked or were popular - those were spot on! The scoops are generously sized too! It's not obvious from the counter, but to the left there's also a very nice side room in which you can sit and enjoy your purchases. They're in a great location in Dennis too. read more

Went to this place for coffee and saw they had breakfast sandwiches on the menu. Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese (on the menu) and the employee told me it would be a wait because the eggs weren't made yet. I said okay, that's fine. Employee then said it would be a while. I asked how long and the employee wouldn't give a time frame. I would have waited, but the tone and repeated comments of the employee told me that the employee didn't want to make it. During this interaction, the person I was with suggested to me that we go to another shop nearby for the sandwich and the employee was not bothered by the loss of business. I will never return here. I have told my family and friends to stay away, and felt so disappointed by my experience that I took the time to write this review. P.S. While we were waiting, someone who seemed like a "regular" (and who seemed to know the employee) came in and was also treated so rudely. read more

I ordered a pie from here for my husband for Father's Day. It was their peanut butter pie and it was absolutely phenomenal. Thick layers of peanut butter cookie crust, chocolate, peanut butter cream, and whipped topping. It was insanely rich but we couldn't stop eating it. Even more awesome? I was hoping to have a great experience with Corner of Yum as we have never ordered a cake from anyone on the Cape. After reviewing yelp we decided to give this business a try as most reviews were fairly positive. We chose a pretty standard cake and placed an order and that is when the process fell apart. We experienced terrible communication with the bakery, answering machines full, unqualified people trying to answer questions, mix ups on deliver and pick up, just total chaos at best. Finally after being told the cake would be delivered by noon we had to pick it up. All of this would have been forgotten if the cake itself were anything close to fresh and tasty. The cake was dry like it had been sitting there or pre made days ahead. The price was $42 for an 9" cake with two vanilla halves with chocolate frosting, not complicated. In short this business may be better than what we experienced but we had a very negative event. Probably will give someone else a try in the future. read more

I began the ordering process two weeks in advance of the event that I needed a cake for. Maybe my mistake was to email the bakery and rely on that form of communication alone (although now I see other reviews did say they still had problems making orders over the phone.) At first Carole was very helpful in determining what to order, one cake and multiple cupcakes. But then communication broke down and I hadn't heard from her in many days to confirm. Five days before the event, I reduced the order to just the one cake and no cupcakes because communication was so bad, it made me nervous. (Instead of the cupcakes, I ordered a backup cake from Stop N Shop--yes, we would have had two cakes for event). And then I had to email again the day before the event to see if it was still happening. I got a terse reply basically saying, "time is tight, what do you want?" I emailed her two hours later confirming what I wanted and she never replied. In five different emails, over the course of the two weeks, I asked what the cost of everything would be and Carole never answered that one simple question. Terrible customer service. They clearly don't need mine--or anyone else's-- business. I also see other reviews say the cakes are dry, so it looks like we dodged a bullet. read more

I found the bakery by Yelp search and I am so glad I did! I inquired via Facebook about cakes and things they could make- they responded so quickly and asked if I needed anything specific. They were able to make me a from scratch turtle cheesecake for the next day to celebrate my dad's birthday. My mom doesn't typically enjoy caramel but loved this! It tasted homemade, not too tacky, perfectly salted. I cannot say enough about this small bakery. Excellent service and sweets ! The rest of this will be devoured shortly. read more

Last week I called and ordered a cake to be picked up today for my daughter's birthday. When I ordered on the phone, I was told that I had to pay in advance. Today, I went to Corner of Yum to pick up the cake as ordered and was told I had to go to Umami Pizza & Fusion to pick up the cake because that is where they bake the cakes. When I went to Umami Pizza, I spoke with Carole, the owner of Corner of Yum. She said there are no more cakes to be picked up. I explained that I ordered the cake last week and was charged $46 for the cake on June 26th. She stated I believe you but there is nothing I can do for you. I understood that she obviously doesn't have the cake we ordered and then requested a refund. She said she can't refund because it's a different establishment and said I need to speak with Nikki the manager of Corner of Yum and the person working at that time does not know how to do refunds. Then I asked aren't you the owner and she said yes. "I'm busy with dinner "and "like I said there is nothing I can do for you, you just need to leave." I left, with no refund and a manager who had no care about resolving this matter. This was the worst customer service I ever experienced, I will never order from this establishment again. Carole did an amazing job for my last minute request!! My daughter requested a chocolate cake for her birthday an I would typically make one myself however time was not on my side this time. To put into perspective how delicious this cake is, we have a family recipe that's been around for well over 70 years and it's a chocolate cake it's the only chocolate cake my family makes and eats for all occasions. While tasting this one I said to my husband, it's a perfect replacement to our family recipe and I throughly enjoyed it! My wedding was only about a month ago and I have heard so much praise from all of our guests about our desserts! The owner of Corner of Yum, Carole, not only made 120 delicious cupcakes in 4 different flavors ( dolce de leche, English lemon, lemon raspberry and peaches and cream) for our guests, but also a beautiful and delicious wedding cake in the flavor of our choosing. Carole delivers everything herself including the tasting cupcakes right to your house. When we did have requests about changing things up (one of the frosting was a little sweeter for my taste) Carole delivered 100% and we were so satisfied! The fresh organic ingredients that go into these cakes really make the flavors so lovely and enjoyable! In terms of customer service we couldn't have been happier: answering promptly to calls and emails we were excited to have Corner of Yum be our dessert caterer! She delivered beautiful cake platters, hand written signs, a two-tiered blueberry maple cake (lactose-free for the bride), a dozen gluten free vegan cupcakes, and another 8 dozen cupcakes ranging in flavors from fancy plain jane to cafe con leche. Carole has gone above and beyond to make our celebration's special. She catered a birthday party for us and everything was delicious. Then we decided to try out some of her Mexican specialties and we were hooked. The empanadas are flaky. The chicken enchiladas have brought us back time and again. The meal is complete with all the sides, homemade guacamole is spot on. We have tried some of the prepared, dinners and soups and they are perfect if you don't want to cook that night. The special cake we ordered was dry, yet heavy, the buttercream frosting was inconsistently applied, you could see the cake showing through in parts, it was overly sweet and did not taste of butter. Also the requested filling was not done, there was just a very thin layer of a flavored something between the cake layers. The cake itself was lopsided. Me and my family have visited the "Corner of Yum" several times when we vacation on Cape Cod for their outstanding Gelato. So, I decided to try a birthday cake since it was my wife's birthday while we were there on vacation. The cake was beautiful and instead of writing the birthday message on the cake with frosting, they used a little chalk board and placed it against the front of the cake. My wife loved the decorations and the little chalk board with the "Happy Birthday Jan" written on it, which she thought was a great touch. My wife, my daughters and I all agree that this cake is, by far, one of the best we have ever eaten. read more

I found Corner of Yum and ordered the chocolate chip cookies, pretzel bars, key lime pie, and carrot cake. All were (I hear) delicious, but the cookies and carrot cake were apparently the *best* that my family had ever had, which is saying a lot! To top it off, Carole made the local delivery process so EASY, with very welcome updates about when she was going to drop them off so I could coordinate receipt, etc. Since they apparently offer NATIONAL delivery for some of their treats, I can't imagine going anywhere else for future remote birthday celebrations! read more
