Several friends had recommended Good Friends Cafe for breakfast, particularly because we had a gluten-free friend with us, and we were told their gluten-free selection is quite large. All the road work going on MA 28 was also incentive, as we could get there without traveling on it from where we were staying. We were also told several times to get their grilled breads (if you weren't gluten-free, of course). The complimentary coffee in the waiting area was a nice tough as well. It certainly lived up to the recommendations. We had maybe a 3 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday morning. There were lots of specials on the blackboards on the side wall. Coffee came out quickly; it was piping hot and mellow, with very frequent refills. I did try the bread, an apple-cranberry, grilled/toasted medium with a pat of butter for extra yum. I opted for the hash Benedict with fruit instead of potatoes. I got potatoes by mistake anyway, but they immediately brought over the fruit. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise was flavorful, and the hash was crisp and not greasy at all. This place was fantastic! We sat at the counter and got to see a positive staff having fun and offering amazing menu advice in a cozy diner. Marie & Tia steered us towards the homemade breads including a pear raspberry slightly grilled bread that was the perfect combination of fruit flavor to fresh bread. I had a half order of cornbread-bacon Benedict. Sooo good. Cornbread so moist and with the bacon and hollandaise was delicious. I stopped in over the weekend to give this place a try. There was not wait around 10am on Saturday, but the place was busy (there was one table left). It's very cutesy inside and the bathrooms were clean. I got the Julian - it was scrambled eggs, bacon, white toast, and home fries. I also ordered a single pancake. I also had Diet Coke and a glass of milk. All of this came to about $30. The eggs were good and the toast was really nice. The bacon was a bit more fatty than I'm used to so it was a eh for me, but the home fries were delicious. They had such a good seasoning and spice to them that I was in heaven. The pancake was also solid. Not amazing, but good. The service was good. I do think it's weird that they just drop checks without asking if you want anything else or asking if you want the check. I would come back and give this place another try. I think you can rely on it being a good breakfast, but I might not wait more than 20 minutes if there was a wait. read more

Went here with my bachelorette party of 6 for a walk in breakfast on a Saturday morning. Had a 30-40 min wait . Not bad for a decent size party walk in! They have a beautiful deck where you're allowed to have your coffee while you wait for your table inside. The deck made the wait very enjoyable. Came in late Sunday morning and the place was pretty packed...usually a good sign! The decor inside is very Cape and pretty. They do have a substantial deck space outside; it looks like they can set that up with tables when it's warmer! Very cute. Right inside, you do have to give the host/ess a name for your party, and they have coffee in cute mugs to drink before you're seated. We did have to wait about 20 minutes but that's to be expected. I have to give a shoutout to our waitress, Marie. Very accommodating, very sweet. She provided suggestions when asked, and offered to swap out a side if it wasn't what I liked when it came out (it was actually very good.) She checked back in the right amount, and stopped by to chat briefly when she could. Food order: two country omelettes, home fries, coffee, apple juice, school combo(?) can't remember the exact name but it was 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, some sort of meat choice so I chose the apple chicken sausage & home fries. This a cute cafe on School Street in West Dennis. The waitress was fairly friendly. The star was my breakfast choice. I have a dairy sensitivity and was hoping to still have some apple chicken sausage and grilled bread, but was told that they use a grill with butter all over it, so these were not an option for me. So I had to stick with their vegan and GF waffle, some eggs, and a fruit cup. I so wish that they had another pan or griddle just for allergies, because I was drooling looking at everyone's food. It's no wonder this place has almost 500 reviews and all of them are good. Highly recommend this if you are in Dennisport - Cape Cod. The place is very clean and decorated appropriately for a beach restaurant. Super cute! Everyone working there was so friendly. They treat you like a local or someone you've known for a long time. Lots of attention from several different people that worked here to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our dining experience. The food was delicious and made fresh. A cute thing they do is pick a random name and put it on the chalkboard and if that is your name, you get free coffee. We found this place on the last day of our visit which is unfortunate. Been 3 times - came back for the food, but ultimately won't be back because of the wait. The first time we waited 38 minutes, which was fair for the day of the week and time of day. First, the tables are so close together that the server's rear end was inches from my plate of food when she was serving the table next to me. On the other side, I thought I was having breakfast with that diner since we were inches away from them. Secondly, I ordered the 2x2x2. That's 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, and 2 pancakes. The pancakes were good. I ordered the eggs over medium. They were never flipped, the bottom was brown and crispy, and the whites on top were still clear. It made for a pretty photo, but not what I ordered and I do like my eggs actually cooked. The bacon was so greasy that my fingers were literally dripping grease onto my plate after eating a piece. Also, there was so much stuff on the table....a huge bowl of creamers, enough to serve 10 people when we weren't even drinking coffee. That would help. Might want to consider removing a few tables so diners can enjoy eating breakfast with the people they came with, instead of strangers. Also, a coat rack in the waiting area would make it a lot less awkward trying to take your coat on and off without punching another diner in the face because of how cramped the space is. Fantastic breakfast experience at the Good Friends Cafe! The restaurant was cute and there was indoor & outdoor seating. The service was prompt & our waiter was very friendly. We enjoyed an omelette with roasted red peppers, spinach & goat cheese. It was served hot and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. It was accompanied by delicious home fries that were cooked perfectly. They also enjoyed a slice of the grilled, homemade pear raspberry bread with warm butter and it was outstanding. It was so good that we ordered a slice of apple cranberry bread to go. We also enjoyed the caramel apple gluten-free Belgian waffle with pure maple syrup, which was extra but worth it.
