Congo River Golf is one of my wife's and I's favorite places to go on a date night. The course is tricky, but not so difficult that it is frustrating. The price can be a little steep, about $24 dollars, but there are almost always coupons floating around, and they usually run specials where you can buy second rounds for $5 that can be used anytime. The course will take you about 30-40 minutes with two people, and just over an hour with four. The course has water hazards, nice little bank shots, but it is an ease of play that means that someone will get a hole in one at some point. They also offer a scavenger hunt, which is fun the first or second time you go, and will get you a discount on your next outing. There is a little arcade, although some of the games are outdated. They also have baby alligators for you to feed, which can be fun for little children. The staff is always super nice and the place is upkept very well. It isn't rundown and does not feel like some hole in the wall attraction. My only complaint is that if it is busy, it can be annoying to have people ahead of you who take far too long to golf, or the people behind you who are apparently playing a speed round of putt putt. Again though, this is something you even run into playing regular golf, so not a huge hit for Congo. read more

I had fun with my husband. Killed at least 1 hour and a half. It was busy for a Saturday night so we had to wait for others to finish, but it was still fun. They have the scavenger hunt you can do to kill time while waiting your turn. At the end I took a photo with the alligator and got to spend some time with it and pet it. 4.5 stars.. The best mini golf place I have ever been to in my life is just outside Scranton Pennsylvania. After reading reports of that course being neglected for years I'm glad to announce that Congo River Golf is now the best course I've played that is still in gorgeous shape. This says a lot as I've played a lot of mini golf over the years. I wouldn't have prefaced this review with 4.5 stars had the course not been $12 for adults. That makes this the most expensive round of mini golf I think I've ever played. I still find it worth it. The course is masterfully designed with incredibly interesting holes, and an insane amount of ambience. In addition to the mini gold they also have a little arcade but that's really not a big selling point here as there are only a few machines in there. One of my favorite things about Congo was that by their entrance they have a little enviornment of baby alligators (when the alligators get longer than 3 feet or so they are sent to Gatorland in Orlando). You can pay a few bucks to feed them by dangling a piece of a hotdog on a string from a stick but the real experience is paying about $5 and getting to hold one of the little guys. Where else are you going to be able to play an incredible round of mini golf and hold an alligator for under $20? If you want to play another round once you're done it's only $6, even if you want to come back another day. Now that's a great deal. If you're interested in holding the alligator just know that they tape the mouth closed, they are only little alligators they use here, and they make you hold it in a specific way so it really doesn't squirm around. Personally I would have liked the freedom to hold it however I wanted but I understand the procedure. I really enjoyed my experiences at Congo, they have a great facility. This is probably one of the coolest Miniature Golf courses I have ever been to. The place is well maintained and luckily for us it was dead, but we kind of expected that when we decided to go on a Monday afternoon. It was nice though because we got to take our time and thoroughly soak in the experience. And by soak I mean that literally as it was very humid that day. Price wise it can get a little costly, but from what I read (unfortunately after we went) you can usually find decent coupons that provide a nice discount. The course has some easy holes as well as some tough ones, but the thing I really liked the most was the spin wheels every few holes that added to the challenge. Not gonna lie, the wife thought she trumped me when I had to take my first shot using the handle end of the Club. Oh how she was wrong as I ended up sinking that bad boy in one shot. One thing I am not a fan of is that some of the water hazards have drains big enough to take your ball down with the water, forcing you to walk all the way back to the start and get a new one. There is also an optional Scavenger Hunt you can do as you play. I am not going to give you any freebies on where to find things, but I will tell you some items can be found in multiple locations. The baby Alligators are neat too. They just look so chill laying there and add to the overall feel of the place. Also for like $5 you can purchase a bag of dirt with gems that you can "mine" and sift through, but that just seemed like a cheap novelty thing geared more towards kids so we didn't do that. read more

My family and I have been here twice and we love it! The course isn't your run-of-the-mill, easy, kiddy course. The holes are all unique and challenging in their own ways, and the entire course is so fun to travel through! The alligators are awesome too! It's very cool to be able to feed and hold them! I typically don't like mini golf but it was a friends birthday. Check in was quite quick and easy. We were 11. The course was really cool and challenging at point. We really enjoyed it. This place was designed like no other golf place I have visited. Great because its different, not so great because I swung my ball to the left, it went in the water, was sucked in by the water filter and before I knew it, my little pink golf ball was floating in the huge river and unreachable. = ... and another golfer had the same issue. Swung the ball, it hit the water and then before we could catch it.... its floats down the homemade river where golf balls go to die and you can't get it back. Fun. read more

My kids and I had so much fun! They are 15, 13 and 9. I bought them the ultimate safari package. We played our round of golf first. We were all impressed with the course - it was fun, engaging and every hole was unique. It was also quite shaded so you never felt like you were being forced to stand in the blistering sun. Afterward they mined for gemstones. I thought my teenagers would think this was corny but they actually got really into it and enjoyed it. Then we played arcade games. This was the only sorely lacking/disappointing thing of the experience. There are only a handful of games and they are all pretty subpar. They then got their souvenir golf ball (we don't ever golf besides miniature golf but they had fun selecting which one of the many prints they would take). After that they LOVED feeding the alligators and got a kick out of it. The highlight for all three of them was then holding the baby alligator. It's something they will never forget. It was pricey ($114 after a $8 military discount) but so memorable and I think totally worth it. The staff were not the friendliest of people but we had so much fun that we couldn't bother to care with the frosty attitudes. read more

I'm all for themed mini-golf, but only on the condition that the theme is truly owned and incorporated throughout. Yes, they've got gators; timid little whelps that you can feed them without fear of losing a hand. Yes, there is a murky slime pond that could, at night, be mistaken for the raging Congo river cutting through the dense jungles of the African Interior. There's even a scavenger hunt of sorts, though it's good for one trip and then never again. Ultimately, though, the eighteen holes are just green astroturf laid around a handful of piddling water hazards. I want my jungle mini golf to have a rope swing, if not the everpresent threat of malaria. Cannibals would be nice, too. They should give out safari hats and have an occasional stampeding elephant, or at least a hole with elephant footprints and rhino droppings as a roughage hazard. There's a small arcade, too. I think they served snack-bar food, but I am skeptical as to the quality. read more

I like this place, it's quaint and off the grid from the chaos of 19. It has a comfortable tropical atmosphere and they keep it really clean. For two adults it cost $22, and u get $1 your next game if you keep your score card and a chance to win a free game with a scratch off. read more

Great miniature golf course! The holes were challenging, but the kids still really enjoyed it. There are a lot of steps and hills in the course, so that may be a challenge for some people. Had a great time with my family. Well-maintained. I appreciated the plants and landscaping as a lot of places like this aren't as "leafy". We enjoyed the scavenger hunt and "spinner" holes. I had to suspend my judgment for the European-colonizer-in-Africa theme (it's a little dated....), but the experience was great on the whole. Maybe a wee bit pricey? ($48 for 3). I've been here a couple of times. One of the downfalls is the price. It was 24.95$ for two adults. Pretty pricey to hit a golf ball around. They do an interesting scavenger hunt, which I've never actually finished. They recently added a spinning challenge where you spin and land on different things, nice twist. Beware, it's really easy to hit your ball off course! I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive and if there were less mosquitos! I lost by two points :( read more

Have you ever wanted to play on a putt putt course with actual danger involved? My bae and I just decided on a whim to try some putt putt, so she got a deal on tickets and away we go! It's located on a frontage road in the shadow of US-19, easy to spot once you exit us-19. First thing you see casually walking up is a bunch of people gathered around a pond with what looks like fishing rods. Upon further investigation, it's a gator pond and you can feed them or pet them if you're feeling froggy! They also have an arcade and party area good for large birthday parties or corporate events. The course is dangerous on its own as you have to cross little creeks that criss-cross the place. It's your typical putt putt, obstacles and silly fake grass. It's the course itself that's different, it feels like whoever built this has great vision and a idea of how putt putt should flow. You even play in a boat that "crashed" into the course. Do yourself a favor, pull in, drop $13 and have fun. read more

I've come here since I was a kid and every time has always been really fun. The course takes a good amount of time to complete and the price isn't too bad. I'm a fan of the different colored balls as well - they're really fun! I came here with my boyfriend a while back and we had a nice time. The little gators out front are really cute too. This is a fun place to come no matter your age (we're both in our early 20's) and I recommend it to anyone. I was also pretty impressed because we did come on a weekend but it wasn't insanely crowded. I was expecting it to be packed but we were able to pretty much avoid any big crowds. read more

Came here with my family after Thanksgiving dinner. The staff here is phenomenal; very cheerful, helpful, and friendly. You guys need to treat your baby gators better. After we were done with golf they let people feed the gators with these fishing sticks. There's people playing tug of war and throwing the gator across the very small water area, slamming them and being very rough. The staff is not even paying attention to what's going on and doesn't even seem to care what people do to these animals. It really looks like animal cruelty to me. Be more responsible and supervise, set rules! read more
