It's not exactly the greatest bar in the world, but the food is good, the prices are right and the staff is really friendly. If you're in the Watertown area, this is an excellent choice for food or just for drinks. Speaking of their drinks, they're always great. From the beer on tap to the mixed drinks (White Russians are fantastic), you can't go wrong. When it comes to the food, my favorite choices include the chicken wings or the chicken fingers, both with an amazing Buffalo wing sauce. Buffalo Chicken Pizza! That's enough to make me a fan of Conley's along with the good beer selection and pub menu. But damn, this pizza's addicting! Buffalo tenders, blue cheese and jalepeno peppers! Owww! The other night, my boyfriend and I were enjoying a pizza at a two person table. Had the pizza rack in front of us and I clumsily knocked half the pizza on the floor while reaching for the ketchup! SMASH!! I think I startled everyone in that corner of the bar even though it was quite noisy in there! I was so disappointed that we wasted a half of a delicious buffalo pizza. :( But then our waitress came and informed us that she put a new order of pizza in. Free of charge and was happy to do so! Conley's is a great neighborhood pub. Our food has always come promptly and properly cooked. I've noticed you can't always count on that when it comes to burgers in this town. Conley's doesn't make that mistake. The staff has always treated us well and kept our beers filled. Stopped into Conley's Pub & Grille this afternoon for lunch. For a bar, the food is very good. I had the turkey club with a side salad, and there was plenty of turkey and crispy bacon with just a hint of mayo between perfectly toasted wheat bread. Cut into 4s and artistically placed on a large plate along with a nice assortment of mixed greens and fresh vegetables, the presentation was surprisingly nice. The tuna melt was also very good. The only negative was the service of our waitress who forgot our refills, and then couldn't be found despite not being crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Good thing for Conley's that the quality food will be enough to get us to come back. read more

one of my favorite local places in belmont, and especially convenient for me as it is within walking distance of my apartment. the staff is always really nice and even on busy nights have at least been able to get room at the bar or a table right away. there are plenty of tv's for those that want to watch the game, but the volume is never too loud to detract from conversations at the table instead. the menu is really extensive, covering all american pub fare and more with wraps, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and entrees. portions are really big but still at a reasonable price, so i always know i'll have plenty to eat and leftovers for the next day too. my favorite thing to order is the tips and would recommend the turkey, teriyaki steak, or the regular steak - they were all great. each entree comes with two sides, and i typically get a garden salad and then cole slaw or fries. the greek salad is also great and if you top with chicken or shrimp it is an excellent, filling meal. the buffalo wings are also really good, super spicy if you ask for it (but they will warn you). they run a few specials every night too, and have a great, local beer list plus wines and cocktails. read more

STEAK TIPS STEAK TIPS STEAK TIPS! OK, so I am blessed with the fact this place is less than two blocks from my house. So yes, I mght go there a lot. but the food is GOOD! Yes, I normally get the same thing - Steak tips, medium rare, rice pilaf, salad with blue cheese, and a PBR or two (all for less than $30 with tax and tip - and funny, I drink PBR because I like it, not because I am trying to be ironic!) The steak tips come out, and are basically like 4 little 4 ounce steaks. Great seasoning, cooked perfect, and delicious! Rice is rice, salad is salad. But the roll that comes with it. i have NO idea what kind of bread it is. Looks like a dinner roll. Has butter melted in it (maple butter maybe). soaks it all up, and is simply amazing! So one night, I was sitting there, watching the red sox, having a couple drinks, and although had had steak tips (like I do 95% of the time), but by the 9th inning of a Sox vs yankees game (like 4+ hours later!), I was hungry again. Got some pulled pork sliders and WOW. ALMOST as amazing as the steak tips. So good! I bring everyone I know here. It is close. Great food, great beer selection, good alcohol selection (mmm, 18 year old jamisons...). And great prices. Atmosphere that is comfortable, friendly staff... what more can you ask for! read more

Stopped at Conley's for dinner with my Dad while passing through on my way from Newport to Portsmouth. It had some interesting Yelp reviews, is close to his apartment and we were looking for something quick. Walked in a saw a decent sized bar to the left and smaller dining room to the right. We decided to just grab a table so we could bullshit instead of sitting in near the bar. The food was good, especially the Steak Tips & Scallops my dad ordered and came in a large enough portion to share some with me. My burger was decent as well. The beer prices seemed a little higher than I'm used to for Sam and Guinness. They poured the Guinness properly despite the earlier review. There were plenty of TVs around with the games on. Conley's is a decent little sports pub and I'd recommend it if that's what you're looking for. read more

Used to live down the street, love the buff chicken pizza - DELICIOUS. Pepperoni pizza is good to, they recently raised their beer prices BUMMER, but overall good value. After coming to this place twice in one week, I decided its probably fair that I leave a review. The first time, my girl friend and I were just looking for a place close by to grab a beer and a quick, decent bite to eat. Her roommate and herself used to frequent Conley's and she thought I'd like one of their salads. So, off we went. I got the cobb salad and of course haven't deviated from that since. The lettuce is a spring mix, and while I normally like an iceberg mix, I put up with it. You can add chicken to it, and if you eat meat I suggest you try this. The chicken, honey mustard dressing, and everything else all mixed together is amazing. Very tasty! The chicken doesn't have any gross bits to it, which gets huge points in my book. I haven't noticed the lettuce being gritty as others have, but both times I was drinking a fair amount while eating said salads. A little beer hides any gritty lettuce taste, in my opinion ;) The service is a pretty even "meh". Nothing exceptional but everyone's been quite friendly and low key. You get the opportunity to eavesdrop on a lot of ridiculous conversations, which is always my favorite part about eating at a townie bar. Overall, I'd definitely go here, and stumble home for dinner more often. read more

My husband and I adore Conelys. We found it about a month after we moved to the neighborhood and it is one of our "go to" spots for dinner and drinks. Its nice to go to a place in Belmont with a simple, affordable menu, with food that is well cooked and seasoned. Pros: everything on the menu is good. Same polite and friendly staff every time we visit. Reasonable prices. TVs around the pub to watch all the games. Cons: Its always super busy and you have to wait around 15 minutes to get seated on a Thurs, Fri, or Sat (which is typical of anywhere good). The wait for your food is also a bit long. Really nice after-work drink option in Watertown. Unlike many of the surrounding bars, Conley's is bright with huge pop-out windows. The food is just ok (solid bar food) but the drink menu makes up for it. Also no matter how busy it is the wait staff is professional. read more

I love this place! My husband and I end up here about once a week. Pros: Great draft beer selection Cheap eats Food is pretty good for a dive bar. Conley's is a local staple, but honestly the service, food, and drinks just depend on who's working! Doesn't stop us from going though; we have had some interesting encounters with staff (i.e.: being shut off after two drinks in two hours) but overall it's a good place to go. They have a decent menu with classic bar type food and pizzas. I recommend the gold rush wrap....it's so good and it's definitely my go-to there. read more

Bang for buck is key - mixed drinks in pint glasses that are doubles by default and lots of pubby, reasonably priced food. Service is pretty varied - especially table service - but it's a good atmosphere and a great local bar. You can even bring your kid - and your parents - and everyone will go home happy. I went this past St. Patty's day and I was a little disappointed. My burger was really good and the fries were great. My girlfriend's Spicy Buffalo Chicken was absolutely awful. The spices were burned. They were slow with getting our drinks out. They got the order wrong. The bill was wrong. The place is cool though - great pub atmosphere and a lot of TVs w/a lots of sports. If it wasn't packed and super busy I would have given 2 stars but I am giving the benefit of the doubt. Not sure if I'll go back. Maybe for a quick beer and burger. read more

I have now been here at least 25 times. They serve bar food and their menu is limited. With that said, all meals have been hot and delicious and reasonably priced. We love the steak tips, Hamburgers, Wings, Salad, French Onion soup and Chicken Stir fry. Great place to eat and watch a game. I have given Conleys three tries now...absolute WORST service. Super unfriendly staff, three different servers and both bartenders- awful. They act like they are doing you a big, fat favor by serving you...I bartended for 7 years, I get it. But each time I've gone I've had to get up from my table and ask to be served, I've gotten the eye roll and attitude, it's just crap. I'm a very easy going customer, it shouldn't be a mission to order a cheeseburger and some wings. It's a shame as I live really close, I tip great, and the food is decent. After reading on the Amer. Airlines Dining site that Conley's hours of operation were 11:00AM to midnight for late night dining, I thought it would be a good destination for my 10:50 PM late night dinning No waiter ever approached me for 20 minutes. I walked to the bar counter, and been told the kitchen closed at 10:30 PM !! (The barman saw me standing there but didn't say a word to me). A waste of time, and it became too late to go somewhere else in the area for any late night dining. Nowhere on the AA or Yelp sites said the kitchen closes at 10:30 PM...Is that a way to get "captive customers" once one shows up after 10:30 PM? read more

I've lived in Watertown for a few years and found Conley's during a blizzard one night about 4 years ago. It was that crazy winter when it never stopped snowing - and to prevent me from munching on my roommate during a white-out, we bundled up in our Alaska-gear and headed out. We couldn't have found a better place than Conley's. Honest food, pub prices, a nice smattering of locals who were nothing short of fabulous and a great jukebox. And to me, a jukebox makes or breaks a pub. I have to admit, the music was a little Lynyrd Skynyrd-heavy, but heck - that's what the local pub is for. Since then, Conley's has added a function room and more TV's - so sports nights are fun, plus if you want a pub-birthday party without the fluff, seriously, this is the place. Also, I can assure you ladies that this is a very safe and respectful crowd, so feel free to meet your friends there. Townie pub yes - bunch of jerks, no. Have fun! read more

Great buffalo sauce, and good burgers too, the pizza could be better, pizza is pretty subjective but this is really greasy and falls apart - which is just no good! I love local bars, and Conley's is indeed that. It's a sprawling place, with a couple of bar areas and another section for dining. Interesting mix of working-class townies, middle-class folks, and a few very wealthy types (Conley's is across the street from Belmont). The Italian-style pizza is very good, they serve pitchers of Smithwick's, and there are TVs and neon signs everywhere. What more can you ask for out of a bar? read more

COVID RELATED: I hate to write this review as my husband and I have been going to Conley's for about a year and love the ownership and workers. However, through this entire COVID pandemic, they have been extremely irresponsible and blatantly not taking the proper precautions necessary to protect their customers, let alone themselves. Each time we have gotten takeout, they bring it directly to your car and/or invite you in the restaurant, clearly ignoring the six foot distance mandate. After I asked them on the phone to please leave my food on the sidewalk, they still brought it to my car and tried to squeeze it through the window, getting their hands inside my vehicle and basically standing two feet from me. All while not wearing a mask. This has happened with two different workers at this point. You can see the kitchen through their front door and none of the cooks were wearings masks either, OR gloves. One worker had gloves when they brought the food out but was not wearing them, just holding them. And another worker had a mask dangling from their ear. Not sure why they even have gloves and masks if they aren't wearing them properly. It's very unfortunate as we love their food and company but we won't be getting takeout from them any longer for the safety of our children and elderly that we care for in our home. Would love for their management to instruct them on how to safely navigate this time. read more

This is a great place to go to for a "bar experience" and to watch games at, but honestly, the food is not why I would come here. It has a short menu and less-than-ok food. The only exception to that is their pizza, which is pretty good. I definitely would come here to watch sports (they don't do UFC though), but not to eat. read more

I really want to say 3.5 stars for this review. I have heard a lot about the place and used to live just a few blocks away but never went in. Last night I finally made it. It has somewhat of an awkward set up. The tables are an odd mixture of heights with a weird lay out and even more weird lighting. The walls were plastered with nice neighborhood pub pictures, and they did try to make it look nicer than a dive. The menus came, looked like a good selection. I got the steak-tips and fries. The plate was piled so high with food it was difficult to cut the meat, so it took me about an hour to eat my food and fries were flying everywhere! I ordered the steak tips rare. They came to me medium well. I still tasted one before requesting new ones, I HATE tough meat. It was good. good enough for me to eat them and not send them back. they were tender and juicy. I can't wait to try them again if they would ever do them rare for me they would be amazing. The fries I didn't think were all that amazing. I like steak fries, but I like them crispy, and these were pretty limp. I almost forgot to talk about the crazy roll I got. It was amazing! It was a yummy sourdough roll that looked like a bread bowl, and had nice melted butter 'soup' inside. YUM! while figuring out our bill we were being stalked by a new patron, who when we left said we were at her table. It was a little off-putting to have her stand next to us for 10 minutes and stare at us like she was trying to beam us away. not a bad place for a townie pub. 3.5 stars. read more

The Reason why some people gave this place a bad review is b/c they are super picky hipster foodies! This place has good bar food, it is pub that serves pizza, burgers and sandwiches. If you are expecting more then the typical bar offerings or a gourmet fashion then... My favorite is there Cajun chicken sandwich or Steak & Bleu Cheese salad. So so sad that Belmont doesn't have any decent pubs. This is my local pub; lots of locals here and it gets full in the evenings. Just wish I liked the food more. Below average burgers, paper thin and dry turkey burgers, scrawny buffalo wings. I've been here 4 times, and I can't say I've ever had anything that was even average pub food.
