Our first experience with Bill and Connected Technology was in 2018 to install our Tesla Wall Connector, just before our Model 3 arrived. He very carefully assessed the load on our panel (we already had a 40 amp circuit for our old EVSE used on our PHEV) and let us know that we were within specifications to add a 60 amp breaker for our Tesla Wall Connector. He did the full installation, filled out all building permits and was present when the inspector arrived (important, because most inspectors are still not well versed on EVs and charging installations), and helped test the EVSE to be certain that there we no issues. All was perfect and has been since. We then asked for Connected Technology to install a 40 amp circuit in the garage of our daughter and son-in-law so that we could charge when we visited using our PHEV. That allowed us full EV travel to their home and back. This was an excellent decision, because our daughter and son-in-law purchased a used EV in a few months and were immediately able to plug in using a 240V circuit. They also had a problem with the electrical wiring in their home (an intermittent problem since purchasing the home) and Connected Technology installed a new circuit for the garage, bypassing the kitchen and bathrooms, so that they no longer tripped breakers. We have recommended Connected Technology to everyone who asks, plus placed them on the SacEVA.org website as one of the few highly recommended EVSE installers in the Sacramento region. read more

I literally could have not had a better first time experience with Connected Technology. I was having an issue with my Nest thermostat and went through the Nest website to contact a nest pro. I kid you not Connected Technology called me within 5 minutes of my submission (so I was impressed with that off the bat.) Then the lovely woman, Jennifer, presented me with all the options I would have for my situation and how they could help. She didn't try to push anything on me - left the decision up to me and how I wanted to move forward. I mean, basically the whole experience was fantastic and I haven't even had them come to my house yet. They were quick to respond, friendly, knowledgeable, provided great customer service, were proactive... the list goes on. Since this was around the holidays it was initially going to be a 2 week wait to get the job done, but they were not only able to get the charger installed a week sooner than anticipated, they also picked up the equipment at Tesla for me because I was unable to pick it up myself that day. The entire process of adding a 240V circuit for an EV charger was as painless as I could have expected. Not sure what the difference between four stars (Yay! I'm a fan) and five stars (Woohoo! We had done some home remodeling and installed new CAT 6 lines that didn't seem to be working properly. We had 1Gig speed that was not making it's way to the right destinations. After troubleshooting on my own and torturing our internet provider, we realized we needed someone with more experience to go through each line. We had resigned ourselves to the fact that all the lines would have to be rerun on the outside of the house and wasn't too thrilled about that after all the work that had been done on the inside to negate that very thing. We contacted Connected Technology. They came for a consult and then set up an appointment to go through each line and if needed, do a new run on the outside of the house. They had the magic touch to go through each set of wires and match them as they should be and REPAIRED ALL OF THEM! The job was larger than we thought and they came back several times to make sure it was done right. They are clean, neat, polite, knowledgeable and were on time each time. They called or emailed to say when they were coming and then they were here. They wore booties and cleaned up everything! In addition to the repair, we also had them drop three new lines for our TVs and put in a new electrical outlet for one of them. We are thrilled with their service and would call them again in a heartbeat. It should be noted that their services are not cheap but they are a perfect example of you get what you pay for -- a wonderful job! Last year I hired Connected Technology to install a charger for my new EV in the garage. From the first contact to the final payment this company's employees provided responsive, reliable, capable and pleasant service. The estimator, Rolland, explained in sufficient detail what was involved and warned me that the electrical panel in my 50-year-old house was a potential fire risk - a danger no other person who looked at the panel (and many have looked through a bathroom and kitchen remodel) warned me about. I verified the information he gave me about the Zinsco Electrical panels at https://www.thesilverlining.com/businessblog/blog/zinsco-electric-panels-fire-electrical-risk. The wait time for a SMUD inspection was about 6 weeks and supply chain issues made obtaining the electrical panel I wanted difficult. Chad managed to snag one by combing through 33 levels on Google. On installation day, Tim arrived right on time and in a cheerful mood despite the early hour and damp, cold weather. He explained in just the right amount of detail what he was going to do and helped me make the decisions I needed to make. Initially looked at a couple of places but ultimately they were almost twice as much. I had searched for a few places that did EV charging and had come upon this company through Tesla's website. Personal and Professional! I contacted CT for a quote on installing a Tesla charger for a Model 3. They treated me like they want my business, which is not I can say for some other companies. The service they rendered was both personal and professional. I spoke with Jennifer on the phone a couple of times and she treated me like I'm a VIP every time. I am writing this review even though I had to cancel the installation appointment because of my personal circumstance. After the cancellation, they walked an extra mile to claim a partial refund from the county for the permit they applied. They didn't have to do that. That tells you how they treat their customers. Highly recommend. They did an install in garage for 240v outlet. They communicated promptly, transparent fair pricing, excellent use of texting to send confirmation of appointments (even sent picture of technician so we knew who to expect). The quality of work was great and gave me options on panel work with pros/cons. Finally, (what prompted me to write a review), 2 months after install they texted to say they were going to return $ to me because the permit cost came in a little lower from state after final charges. Had an issue after I installed my Nest myself in my new house, was pretty much able to identify the issue, but was unable to fix it myself. Connected came over and fixed it in a jiffy, fair price and very friendly. Will def use them in the future for any issues! What a great experience! I needed a pendant light installed (from scratch) in my kitchen, and an exhaust fan in one of the bathrooms needed swapping out. I also wanted a Ring floodlight camera installed on the back porch. Great customer service when I called to request a quote, and then out they came as promised. Work was quickly scheduled, and they arrived right on time. They text and/or call to keep you posted on their progress, and to remind you of the time and date of your appointment. During the installation process, they encountered several unanticipated twists and turns, which they took in stride, working out alternative methods as they went. Update: Jennifer gave me a call and apologized for the mis communication and refunded us the difference. She was genuine and honorable which was greatly appreciated! My Fiance and I purchased a nest a few months ago and were ready to have it installed. I had a few companies reach out to me - but Connected Technology had the best pricing. They informed me that it was a $95 fee for them to "inspect" and if there weren't any issues beyond just installing the nest - they would do it for that price of $95. Once the technician got there - he informed us that the lady working for them was "new" and incorrectly quoted us. The new price was $129........ we were super confused why there was a difference in price. He did not have to do anything other than hook up a few wires to the nest and it began working. He was in our home for maybe 15 minutes. Super unprofessional for the quote to be $95 and he did not have to complete any excess work for the price to increase but we were charged $129. Not the best experience and I probably would not use them again. :/ read more
