Salted hazelnut latte and peanut butter cookie

I ordered a salted hazelnut latte - so good! And peanut butter cookie was delicious too! A perfect treat while waiting for the Metra train.

I'm obsessed with this place. The coffee is expensive and the baristas are not the most talkative people, but... I don't care because it's so good. I wish they had all the food options like the Barrington location but totally understand why they don't as it's a smaller location. If you're looking for really good coffee this is your spot, I LOVE it.

This is my favorite spot to get coffee in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Today I tried their special: a banana bread latte. And I was not disappointed. Usually I go for their matcha which is equally as good. Their workers are always fast and friendly plus there is lots of tables to do work or catch up with a friend.

    Spinach and bacon scone

This is inside the train station. And it looks super cute and clean--it replaced the Starbucks that shut down. There are like 3-4 convenient parking spots in the turnaround if you're just going to order to go, otherwise street parking is all around. Didn't get coffee recently, but did get some baked treats. We were all pleasantly surprised! Favorite thing we tried was the spinach and bacon scone. This was so good. Our kids loved it. The scone was really buttery and savory. Ham and cheese croissant was a solid second savory choice. My husband also ordered us a cranberry orange scone because he thought it sounded festive. Unfortunately, this one wasn't a hit. If you like tart and citrus and holiday in your mouth, then maybe this one is actually for you--it just wasn't for me. But that's not to say it isn't good. The scones aren't dry or dense, but more fluffy and tender inside with a bit of a bite to the outside. The texture is nice and almost like a cheddar bay biscuit.

Sweet Honey Bee and the Strawberry Fields Smoothie

Came here for the first time recently because I tried a location in Milwaukee and LOVED the taste of the coffee, so when I found out there were multiple locations near my house, I was stoked. When my husband and I were parking, we didn't realize at first that it was inside the Palatine Train Station, and we drove around a couple of times confused because we couldn't find it. Once we parked and started walking, that's when we saw the cafe's sign. Inside, the cafe has a beautiful natural aesthetic with light-colored walls and bright lights. Then, when you turn left from the ordering counter, there are some wooden tables, wooden benches, stools, and plants with tons of open space because of the train station. There is also a pretty big patio outside the front door with a fountain, tables, and chairs, so we ended up sitting there until it began raining. We came on a Sunday, and it wasn't too busy inside, but once we ordered, many more people walked in. There were 2 baristas working at the time, and it took an insanely long time for them to make our two drinks. I ordered an iced Sweet Honey Bee latte which has local honey and lavender syrup inside of it and my husband ordered a Strawberry Fields smoothie (strawberry and banana). For these 2 drinks, it literally took us 15 minutes to get our drinks. We both greatly enjoyed our drinks once we received them, though. The coffee they use is great quality and this drink in particular is smooth and delicious. My husband said his drink was natural and had actual fruit inside, which was a plus (I couldn't try his because I'm allergic to strawberries). This cafe has many different drink and food choices. It is a bit more expensive than some other coffee places for the size of the drinks, but nowadays, coffee anywhere has gotten overpriced, so I'm not even surprised. My drink was about $7 and both of our drinks together were a little more than $18 including a tip. We both ordered 20 oz drinks from what I can remember, and they have 16oz, 20oz, and 24oz options. Overall, I would come back periodically, but because of how expensive it is, I wouldn't make this my daily coffee joint.

First visit to this business, and I will definitely return! Friendly and attentive batista. Great variety of beverages, and they have pastry sweets and oatmeal, too. Housemate flavorng syrups! Locally roasted coffe!! My"Sweet Honey Bee" craft latte was delicious and a lovely "splurge". Prices are on the high side for what this old lady (62) would normally spend on a signature latte, but for a special treat, $8-9 was in the budget. Highly recommended!

Soo soo good!! This coffee shop is located inside a metra station, but still has seating available. Clean and spacious area. Workers were super kind and responsive. I got the White raspberry latte and my friend got the Caramel vanilla latte with cinnamon. Both drinks were smooth and perfectly sweetened.

My favorite coffee shop hands down (as a sbux barista) been coming here for a year and the workers are all so amazing and sweet!! Love the fact that the syrups are house made and the espresso is some of the best I've ever had! My husband and I have tried a ton of coffee shops but we always find ourselves back at this one! Only con is how expensive it is especially when adding oat milk.

My husband and I went to Conscious Cup Coffee Roasters to get coffee before seeing a show down the street. The parking was very convenient, and we were able to get in and out easily to get to our show. The barista was very nice and friendly. We ordered an Iced pumpkin drink. It was delicious and a bit pricey but it was worth it to spend some quality time with friends. I highly recommend Conscious Cup Coffee Roaster for a great drink experience.

A better than normal coffee option inside the Palatine train station with a nice amount of decoration in a small space. It's clear from the machines and coffee beans available that this spot is dedicated to high quality coffee options. I like the spacious seating and comfortable furniture right outside the shop which is large and allows for casually enjoying your beverages. There was a good amount of Iced and hot options available covering a wide variety of drink preferences.

We were looking for something to do on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and wanted to grab a cup of joe first. We like trying new places and happened upon Conscious in our search. I didn't realize till we arrived that it's actually inside the Palatine train station, which is cool. I ordered a hot Golden Dreams and my wife got an iced Honey Bee latte. The Golden Dreams is a non-coffee drink using milk, turmeric, and other spices. It tasted great if you're used to strong flavors, and felt healthy. They did a superb job with the foamed milk. My wife enjoyed her latte. I only had one sip, but appreciated that the lavender wasn't overpowering like it is at some other places. I don't want to drink air freshener. I'd love to try the cappuccino here some day. Service was excellent and pricing was reasonable.

In an ongoing hunt for good lattes with foam art on top, I headed to Conscious Cup with a friend on March 5. I didn't realize until I arrived that the coffee shop is inside the Palatine Metra Station, and for a moment I doubted that it would be great. Happily, this place is wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and made small talk as they engaged with us -- and said yes, they make latte art! Several of their lattes sounded good to me, and I settled on the Sweet Honey Bee, which has honey and lavender flavors. It was really good and I'd definitely order it again, but also want to try some of their other lattes in the future. The coffee shop also offers some pastries. Most of the seating is in the main train station, where there are benches and tables for commuters. This is a just a heads up for those who want to spend time chatting over coffee. While it's not an intimate coffee shop, the service and drinks are upscale quality.

Chappie's was a random pick for us to go have brunch at while we were in the Palatine area. Chappie's had been on my list of brunch restaurants to check out. When we got to the restaurant it was peak lunch time and the restaurant was almost 3/4 full. We got seated promptly. We took our time to look at their menu and decide as they had a good menu variety. We ordered drinks in the meantime. I got a regular coffee and a Chappieccino (cappuccino w/ Chappie's face, Chappie being their family dog, a Corgie). We ordered a Bacado Omelet w/ a side of pumpkin spice pancakes instead of regular pancakes and hashbrowns, a Huevos Rancheros, and a special of 2 Eggs x 2 Pancakes x 2 Sausage links (instead of bacon). I had the Bacado Omelet which had bacon, avocado, scallions, cheese, and I asked for chopped jalapeños which did not have an up charge. The omelet was good. I liked the way it was cooked. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. They were exactly the way I like them, crispy and soft. They also have me a fried green chili pepper (Chile Toreado) on the side which added a nice spicy taste. The specialty pumpkin spice pancakes with pumpkin puree whipped cream was really delicious. I loved its taste. The Huevos Rancheros was the best dish at the table. It was perfectly cooked with two fried corn tortillas, eggs over easy, fried beans, red salsa, and cheese. It tasted great. I liked it more than my dish. The special of 2 Eggs x 2 Pancakes x 2 sausage links was tasty as well. We had a good experience and would go back. Definitely recommended. Check it out.

The place was not busy so we were seated immediately. We got the Filipino menus as well as the traditional. I ordered a side of Garlic Fried Rice and a side of 2 Eggs Over Easy and the Ube Pancakes. The 3 guys each ordered the Tap-Si-Log and Garlic Fried Rice and a couple orders of the Filipino Lumpia. Let's start with the Garlic Fried rice, it was good and had crispy garlic bits in it. It was good but typical. The Ube Pancakes were pretty good. You can taste Ube flavoring and it was large. I liked the Ube Cream drizzle. The lumpia was crispy and a decent size. I was told it was good and the sauce was tasty. My friends said the Tap-Si-Log was just ok. By the look of the meat, it didn't have that caramelized sauce on the meat and in my opinion that's what makes or breaks the dish. The looks confirmed my assumption as I was told that it was just ok. The service was good as we got seated quickly but it went downhill from there. First, when our food arrived as it was being placed on the table, one server decided to hand it across the table and stuff in the plate fell into my friend's lap, good thing it was just the vinegar sauce that was in a container. But way pass the plate from across the table? and the person didn't even apologize. Next, the server only came by once to refill our waters once. It's not like it was busy. Then when the server finally came, it was just to plop our check on the table and didn't even ask if we needed anything else or how was everything. The staff just sat at the bar talking as if they were the customers. We wondered if they were coming over to take payment and as we tried to get their attention, they avoided looking our way. We finally got the attention of a staff member and let them know we wanted to pay and he told us we had to go to the front. Yet, no one was there. We stood there for about 2 minutes. Lastly, two people were sitting next to us and orders were taken but it seemed like it took a long time for their food to come. They tried to get the staff attention and they were ignored. Finally, someone came over and gave them an excuse that the system went down and had to be reset. What's the excuse if not checking in them? Maybe the staff needs to be reset. The food was average and the service was terrible. I wouldn't come back to this place just cause of the service. It is too bad cause I'd try other things as well.

And Baker's Square closed YEARS ago in SoCal. Missed their pies and baked goods! So imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I found this little place in Palatine! I decided to head there for a brekky on a cool May morning. Stepped in, saw all the breads, pastries, and pies along the front counters- wow. I was greeted warmly and seated instantly. My waitress came right away, and I ordered unleaded (decaf for those in the know). It came in a little pot, ala IHOP, and was really, really GOOD. Wow. Decaf has come a long ways from the Sanka days! I ordered the INN-CREDIBLE V.I.B. which allowed me to order 4 yummy items of my choice - I chose the french toast (yummy and spiced just right albeit w/room temp syrup- not a deal-breaker but notable), a strawberry crepe (totally awesome strawberries, but the crepe was a bit colder than expected); scrambled eggs (always a nice stalwart) and two turkey sausage links (as with the frenchie above, nicely flavored!). The ambience was modern, updated, and felt welcoming and (thankfully) a bit familiar. Brought back some good ol' memories even if only the Baker's Square part of the menu was just pies nowadays.
