My husband and I met a friend at Long Grove Coffee on a Saturday morning. We walked in at around 10:00 and it was pretty busy. My husband ordered a coffee with cream and I ordered a "gourmet hot chocolate". The "gourmet hot chocolate" was good but kind of weak. I wish the chocolate was bolder in flavor. Our cashier changed halfway through our order. We had to restart our order which caused some confusion. Fortunately our order was delivered correctly. The seating area is nice and big. We were able to sit and visit and enjoy our drinks for a while. The pastries and other food items are freshly baked. After staring at them, I decided that I need to come back to try them. I recommend Long Grove Coffee.

Such a cute spot. Sweet kids work there. The coffee was easily the best latte I've had in BG. Delicious apple cider donuts and pastries are offered and the prices are super fair. Visiting from out of town and will be back!

Wanted to go for an impromptu coffee and pastry and decided to go to Long Grove Coffee as we've been looking for local coffee shops. The location is next to Long Grove Confectionery. It is a quick drive from our place. The parking is good but if it is a busy day, there might not be spaces. When we walked in there were a few customers sitting inside. There are indoor and outdoor seating and a lounging couch. As we were waiting for our order, a number of customers came in. The inside felt nice and cozy. The service was great and the baristas were very nice. We ordered a Snowdrift Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Macchiato and a Chocolate Croissant to share. They have two sizes and we both got the smaller size. The price was a good compared to the coffee chains. I really liked the taste of the my Caramel, I could taste the caramel and it had the perfect amount. The peppermint mocha could have used a bit more pep to the peppermint but it was not bad. The chocolate croissant was flaky and had the right amount of chocolate. Overall, the experience, price, coffee, food, and location were great. We would definitely come back!

I stopped in during the Apple fest. The place was hopping, given the fest, but it's a pretty good coffee place so I'll bet it's a popular place regardless. They had several specials for Apple Fest, including the Granny Lemonade that I chose. The lemonade was okay, and a shocking shade of green, and although coffee shops make drinks with a cup full of ice (which I don't like) and a couple ounces of liquid, this had zero ice... a few cubes would have been nice. I also bought a loaf of apple bread here and it was pretty good. Lots of apple and there was a ribbon of cinnamon weaving through the middle. Service was good, and their regular menu is adequate as well. It would be worth a stop on the way through town if you're looking for a hot beverage.

So cute in here! They have tons of options and seasonal drinks. I ordered the peach cobbler latte which was a peach white mocha - it was delicious. Will definitely be back!

We were nearby and decided to get a coffee to get through the afternoon lull. Decided on the honeybees latte with oat milk. The flavor was delicious, and interestingly has a floral taste even tho it's only supposedly honey and cinnamon. Would definitely come back to try a few others!

A delightful coffee shop located in the historic district of Long Grove, Illinois was just the right way to kick start our day as we headed home after a trip to Six Flags. It appeared that there were several tables of regulars, which is always nice to see, as it lets me know it's a vibrant part of the community. My daughter and I both order chais, but her's was an iced variety and was caramel apple flavored (I had a sip and it was delicious). We also came home with a package of apple cider donuts, which hit the spot.

We went on a holiday carriage ride and decided to grab a hot drink and pastry here. It was very welcoming and well decorated. I had a peppermint mocha latte and a cookie and my partner had a hot chocolate and a donut. The hot chocolate wasn't as sweet as usual but the latte was really good. And I loved the chocolate chip cookie!

I enjoyed this coffee shop. The woman was very friendly, the latte was hot, which I love. The chocolate croissant was very good with alot of chocolate. Very clean and cute. I will be going there more often. **Please update the hours, since I always check (you never know).....

The coffee was so good. The barista, I believe her name is Christie, was so welcoming and friendly. I will be coming back for sure. The outdoor seating was perfect for the great spring weather.

Very charming -- use Wisconsin based roasted beans that are amazing. Their cafe au lait is my favorite anywhere.

There are a couple tables if you want to linger, but it's a small space overall. The servers are friendly and accommodating. I had the vegetable crepe and dragon fruit acai bowl, and both were delicious. The crepe itself is really light. The prices are on the higher end for the portion sizes.

I'd like to give this place a better review, but having visited a number of area coffee shops and…read morecafes, I can't in good conscious rate them as well. There is a free parking lot with plenty of parking and I found a spot right away on an early Sunday morning. It's very bright and feels more like a retail store atmosphere than a cafe. There were only three tables and a counter running along the back wall. It was easy for two of us to just sit at a table for a while, but as more people came in, we felt guilty taking a table as we just sipped coffee and chatted. They definitely have some kinks to work out and they've only been open for a few months, and they need to train their staff better as they clearly don't understand how to serve with any type speed. They don't do traditional here. You can't just get coffee and a Danish or other typical bakery item. You can't even get toast with butter despite them offering many toast options with toppings. Here's a tip: offer toast with butter or a spread. You'll get a lot more sales with some items that are not super filling. I opted for a hot mocha coffee with an extra pump of chocolate and a crepe. Again, you can't just get plain crepes. They are homemade and should be offered plain, but I digress. I got the Hangover crepe. According to their website, this is the description of The Hangover Crepe: "Start your day right with our delicious breakfast items like bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, served till 11 AM. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing acai bowl or pair your breakfast with a cappuccino or a chai tea latte. Don't forget to try our matcha latte for a unique twist at our coffee shop in Buffalo Grove!" Look, I just do marketing for a living, so don't sell me on what you have before and after 11am. Just tell me what you get with this specific crepe. And that's bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The scrambled eggs are some of the best fluffy and dry eggs you can get anywhere. They were perfect. The hash browns were in patty form and were perfect for this dish. They serve it as a handheld, but it definitely needs a knife and fork, which you collect at the counter. You have to ask for salt and pepper or a sauce if you want. The savoryness of the items mixed with the sweetness of the crepe was a great combo. It was very tasty. But it took them quite a while to make the crepe. I was mostly finished with by hot mocha which I could have topped off for an additional fee. My compatriot wanted plain toast with butter. Mind you they have six (6) different toast offerings with all sorts of toppings. You can get your toast item made with sourdough, multigrain, white, or gluten-free. However, you can't get plain toast. And just as a side Q&A: when you order toast anywhere else, how many pieces do you typically receive? If you answered two (2) pieces/slices, you'd be correct. Irene's gave him one slice. They first toasted it and burned it badly. They make toast items. How do you screw up toast if you routinely make toast? Then they finally brought out the one slice and asked if he wanted butter. He did, so they took the toast to the kitchen and put two dabs of butter on his toast. But then they didn't give him a knife to spread it, so he used the crust of the bread to spread it on the slice. Like I stated, kinks need to be worked out. While we were there, the owner's family came in and took up two of the tables. Now all three tables were taken. And older couple came in and had to side at the counter height stools along the wall. The food was tasty, the drinks were good. Both are pricey for what they are. And they are seriously lacking seating. It would be nice to see them last in Buffalo Grove, but they need to fix the seating issue (maybe smaller rectangular tables instead of round ones?), and get things out of the kitchen faster, and drinks made more quickly to have more staying power. Oh, and have your family not come all together and take up all your tables.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me…read morethan most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!

Most every dish was very dry or doughy. The cannoli's were fried too hard almost like egg rolls. If you're looking for Italian food skip this place. *** Almost forgot. Get rid of the young kids that are servers. They have no idea what they're doing. They seem very confused.
