I hosted my monthly book club at Stompin' Grounds this month, and we all enjoyed the food, beverages and ambiance. We arrived at about 10am, and there weren't a lot of customers at this time, but by 10 after, the line was stretching to the door. There's plenty of seating both indoors, and outside, but the parking is confusing as most of it is labeled short-term parking, or establishment-specific. Pretty sure I parked in the wrong spot, but my car was fine for the 2 hours. I ordered the garden rocket sandwich with avocado and the salted hazelnut with half the pumps (I don't do sweet). Both were pretty good, and the coffee here is STRONG, so bonus for anyone who needs a morning caffeinated kick. My total was $17, which is kind of pricy for what it was, but also expected for a coffee shop in 2025. The staff was very friendly and incredibly patient, as I often become overwhelmed when ordering from a new place, but the barista was totally chill and kindly walked me through different offerings. Decided to go on a Costco run but wanted to grab a coffee and pastry of some kind. This is where Stompin' Grounds comes into the picture. The place has plenty of parking. They were pretty busy when we walked in. Plenty of seating, looks very cozy. We were welcomed when we were next to place our order We decided on: Garden Rocket Croissant Sandwich, Cranberry Orange Scone, Salted Hazelnut Latte and Frosted Gingerbread Hot Latte. We split the sandwich and scone. The sandwich was good. The croissant was crispy and fluffy. I loved the arugula as it gave a really nice taste to the egg and provolone. My only grip was it was really small and we were splitting it - I ate it in 2 1/2 bites. The scone was my favorite, it was baked with a nice outside crust and very fluffy/moist on the inside. I wish I had it all to myself. As for the coffees: both were delicious. I was told the hazelnut was not prominent but still good. The white mocha in my Ginger Bread Latte was really good. I loved the White Mocha. Overall I loved the experience. I would return but not get the sandwich as I would like the sandwich to be a little bit bigger. Only had a coffee, but it was very good. Hot chocolate was also very good. The Service was very friendly and personable. The ambience is pretty good for where it's at. Great part of town however it's in a small strip mall, but you would not while you're in it. Whoever did the design work in here, knew what they were doing. This was just a very average experience. They coffee was not that great and the feed was just mediocre. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean and had enough places to sit and enjoy your coffee and breakfast. The coffee here is always great but the last time we had food and smoothies as well and they were super tasty! I got the salad which was so light and very flavorful, and my kids split the PB&J panini which they loved as well . Updating my review, the coffee here is really good. I will say, I'm not typically a fan of pumpkin spice lattes but this place had the best one I ever had and I'm looking forward to fall! Busy busy busy! But still great service. Parking was tight on Monday morning before Christmas Eve! We enjoyed a matcha latte- not as sweet as we typically like it, but they added extra vanilla syrup without a question. I also enjoyed the lavender fields latte! Such a cute little cafe that offers a great mix of drinks and little bites. They have ample seating for meetings and free WiFi. Came here for a business meeting and loved it. I ordered their iced matcha latte and it was fabulous. The chicken wrap was fresh and tasty. The servers wet nice, attentive and quick. I saw this ADORABLE coffee shop come up on a friends Facebook story the other day and once I looked at the menu, I knew I had to go! I have a friend visiting from Michigan and we decided to go before our tattoo appointment. Let me tell you... I will be going here every chance I get! From the moment I walked in I fell in love with it! Their little shop section is FILLED with all the kinds of things I love! From coffee mugs, to kitchen towels, scented soaps and soaks and all kinds of other goodies! The staff is super friendly and attentive. The Cafe itself is super relaxing and just the right size. Just a heads up to future customers, things are slower than other coffee shops, not sure if they're short handed or not but, I just recently found out about this place, everything seems fine, I've only been here five times and my order is pretty simple every time which is the nitro coffee, yet I'm waiting 15 to 20 minutes every time and watching other customers who ordered after me with these fancy coffees that involve more prep getting there drinks before my simple nitro coffee order, not sure why that happens every time but I think I'm done read more

Since I was jogging around Lake Zurich, I decided I needed to have Stomping Grounds cafe brewed chai tea. It's a cute coffee shop. What's awesome is when I ask for almond milk (non-dairy beverages), I am asked sweetened or unsweetened!! Yeah!!!! I can get what I want!!! Also, hot or iced? Yeah, I get what I want. Awesomeness! Today I decided to try the chocolate scone. I got here early enough for a great selection. Scones are locally sourced. I followed the recommendation for heat, and it did not disappoint me. Let me say right off the bat that I like Stompin Grounds. My problem started around fall. They open at 6:30 on Saturday mornings. I get there about 7:00, and there's no scones. I treat myself to this once a week and unfortunately, no treats for me!! I guess I'm old school, if you open at 6:30, be ready at 6:30. It looks like maybe a 7:30 opening would work better, at least if you want any scones. read more

Great coffee, welcoming vibe and even wines for sale. I was in the area looking for a good cup of coffee. When I walked in I was immediately impressed with the aroma , it was amazing. The cafe has an area with unique items, greeting cards and wine. They have pastries and bakery items. I had the Sweet Honey Bee..... a blend of local honey and lavender syrup, a wonderful combination. The latte was not too sweet, but rich, smooth and so good. The place has a very comfy vibe, with chairs and tables. They also have live music some evenings. Stopped in early this morning to try Stompin Grounds for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how great the coffee was. My iced latte was perfect! The girl working was extremely sweet and made good conversation with me while I waited. They had some delicious looking breakfast items and pastries (although I didn't try) and it was quiet inside. They have a pretty big menu and you can customize the drinks in a lot of different ways. I am a little picky with my coffee and I think it could be a little bit better for the price, but it's still really good. The staff is always friendly and service is really quick. The coffee is fine and staff is friendly, but I was completely turned off by the lack of prices on the menu. When you order, you don't even know what you're paying and they don't give a receipt. To the restaurant--you should consider that some people choose their items based on price. My friend's iced coffee was mainly ice. The grilled cheese I ordered was flat as a board because it was pretty much just grilled bread with a hollow inside. It was supposed to come with multiple cheeses and I was concerned if there was any cheese on it. It also took about 20 minutes to make. Glad I added the bacon for an unknown cost and received one strip. I would not return here. read more

A wonderful neighborhood coffee place. It's always nice to see someplace other than a Starbucks. We want the mom and pop establishments to succeed but they have to get people to come. This little coffee shop just opened in Lake Zurich! The atmosphere is welcoming, kind. Baristas were beyond friendly and helpful. The menu is on the smaller side, but lots of options for a caffeine fix, sweet treat, or small bite to eat. I ended up getting an iced oat milk latte with their homemade vanilla syrup - it was delicious! The espresso was great & I was pleased to see that they use Oatly oat milk, as it's a personal favorite. I also bought a donut, which I brought home for a family member - they said it was good. Overall, had a great first experience and I look forward to trying more of the menu next time! Might try and study here one day soon during the slower hours in the afternoon. read more

Normally wouldn't do this because I'm all about supporting small businesses but this is ridiculous. When you order their cold brew this is the amount of ice you're paying for. Super disappointed. When addressed, we were told there is an up charge for easy ice which we've never heard of. Being a coffee snob and visiting new coffee shops all the time this was a first. A few weeks back when my husband and I were there dining in, the sandwich I ordered was served to me with a brown avocado on it, luckily after pointing it out, the barista apologized and got me fresh avocado, explaining they have a new "cook" in the back, they did credit our account with some points. Love having a coffee shop in the area. It's a great meeting place to catch up with an old friend on a cool day and a perfect spot to stop at after a walk around the lake. Overall, it's a good feeling and the staff is friendly. The only downfall is the pricing. Its a little steep but I guess that's happening most places lately.
