I wish had more parking or I wish their inventory was more consistent BUT I can't complain. They're there and it's another option for me to find what I need. They moved from Mapunapuna to Puuloa Street. I found it a little difficult to find, drove around the block 3 times, but really it's located across Wendy's near the airport., Quite an interesting place where you can find all your containers for your baked goods, soups Abe bentos! The staff was not friendly or helpful and when I called to inquire about the location, the person was not cordial. While this place is a little hard to find and the parking lot is small, it is worth it. They have so many containers for baking, cups/lids, straws, etc that you might need for a bake sale or party. I tried looking for some mini bake pan for my mochi bread but couldn't find it at Y Hata and checked other stores like Longs, Target (way too expensive!) The prices here are reasonable and they have lots of size options too. Workers are helpful and they ring up quickly to get people in and out fast. Highly recommend! read more

When I mentioned it to my neighbor, I think she felt insulted because she asked if the packaging would make her baked goods taste better. I think the presentation of a product at a bake sale will help! Anyway, I thank my friends, Irene and CeCe, on National Girlfriends Day, for going with me. They make every outing more fun! CeCe even bought two packs of Hello Kitty straws for her friend! They were really cute and were the last 2 packs left! I got a container that can securely hold ten cupcakes in place - so that the cupcakes won't slide around during transport. The dream place to hold it all... The Happiest National Girlfriend's Day was a delightful surprise to see my friends Nadine and Cece as they kept me company while my car was being serviced and was expected to take awhile which was so thoughtful and nice! We took an adventure to Containerland which is right along Puuloa Road in Mapunapuna so don't blink or you'll miss it...just look for the flag waving you down curbside which will take you to the building in the back that has a decent amount of parking. It's nothing that I'd ever expect as it was literally a containerland home to various types including the usual to the very unusual like butterfly and animal shaped container though I was looking for something specific they really didn't have it but had something very close that I haven't found anywhere else yet and may return to grab them. We also found some super cute Hello Kitty straws that Cece friend was interested in, it's such a great place to bring out the creativity in you when you find that perfect item to pack it in. This is the best place to shop for any kind of containers for food, drink, serving, etc. They also sell all kinds of colors of bulk cupcake liners and paper gift bags, solid colors. Containerland carry's everything I need to pick up for my holiday goodies for gift giving. Only thing is parking can be a bit challenging at times. So plan ahead and go before any holiday rush period. The narrow alleyway to get to the small parking lot/store in back can get a bit tricky with other shoppers trying to come in, so show the Aloha spirt. read more

I was referred to Containerland by a large wholesaler when I could not find take-out 5oz soup bowls. Being a first-time visitor to their store, I was overwhelmed with the variety of containers they sell. However, what stood out was how helpful the person was behind the counter. When I couldn't decide whether to buy 4 oz or 5 oz bowls, he took out his ruler to help me while I was trying to take a picture to ask others in the committee which size was best. For a catering job I had at work we were short 2 plastic parfait containers so I checked yelp and saw my favorite store would open at 8am the next day so I could run and pick it up for the catering a few hours away on a Saturday. So I get there at 7:45am and MIKE is making HULI HULI chicken to sell for a friends fundraiser. So he comes to my car and says they usually close the last Saturday of the month. I can't believe i didn't know about this store until now! I actually came across this store from an employee at Chef Zone. I went there looking for 8 oz. bowls and they were completely out. I asked the girl if she knew any other place on island that sold those bowls? She said to check this place out. I'm glad i asked because i was able to find what i was looking for. Location is easy to find, small parking lot out front but lots of street parking. If you park on the street be prepared to step in water (looks like it was a little flooded in that area). As i walked in the store i was in awe with how many different containers they had available. If you are starting a business in the food service, you would love this place too! They sell some of their supplies to retail stores but I'm glad they have a retail store for public to buy. The retail store are not known to many. Containerland used to be near the Kalihi Marukai store with the other warehouses for years by the canal when the owner (father) was alive. It was a great find that my friend shared with me when her sister was planning a party. The business was hidden way inside with other warehouses and you would have never known it was opened to the public because most of the other businesses were wholesale. Now they are in Mapunapuna for awhile and their other business name (wholesale side) Diamond Head Distributors are on the packaging of products that you may remembered seeing at Longs Drugs, Marukai, Don Quiote and other stores. They also go by Island Distributors. I heard the son/family took over the business. Now getting back to what they sell...They have green & bio compostable food & party supplies, plastic flatware from different size forks, Ice cream spoons, taster spoons, short handle spoons and even one with long handles, cup cake holders, cake boxes, cake pads and covers, bags, shave ice supplies, bowls, jars, plastic containers, different size drinking cups, lids, coffee supplies from cups and stirs, favors food containers, boxes, bento boxes, hot dog sleeves, wax paper bags, gloves, vegetable plastic bags, portion cups and more! Some items you may not find in the retail stores! See photos! There is a small parking lot in the front. Look for the blue building (old Napa Auto parts bldg) on the right side going south/Makai (ocean) direction. They are way pass the cross street, Mapunapuna Place, Bank of Hawaii & Hardware Hawaii but before G.P. Roadway Solutions. Their address is 666 Mapunapuna St. There are a few stalls in front. They are open early from 7:30 am until 4pm. At least they are open for 4 hours on Saturday from 9am -1pm but closed on Sunday! They except credit/debit cards with a $10 minimum charge. Don't forget to bring a bag for your purchase or perhaps they may have a empty box they can give you as I got for my purchases today. What is this place??? It's a candy store for bakers, cooks, crafters, etc... I make chocolate candies for the holidays and I am so glad I came here. So many packaging options! The owner or manager at the front is so dang helpful too. We thought he was just being nosey asking everyone what are they making but he is actually helping his customers. One of the customers said that he's making jello, and the owner said that this packaging will not work and suggested another one! I asked him for lids for containers and he asked me what I was making and suggested a tub and had to go to the back to grab it. It was perfect so I purchased several of them! I love this store! It's organized and everyone is so helpful and friendly. If you have a hard time finding the place, just look for the humongo water puddle in the middle of the street and it's on your right.
