With Conti's pastry shoppe my experience is awful. I ordered 3 cakes three times from them and 2 times cup cakes (one time 60 and second time 25). And they ruined everything everytime without any apology or owning of their mistake. They are rude and never I find anyone there talking with smile. They pretend as if they are doing some kind of favor for you when you order some cake or something from them. Very very very rude staff, or owner, I don't know for sure. First cake I ordered on my daughters first birthday, they showed me something, they gave me something. When I confronted, they started putting blame on me by saying that such cake cant be made as par your specification. When I asked why didn't you tell me when I was ordering, they simply didn't are to answer. All that time they didn't even apologize. Next year on my daughters birthday I ordered 60 cup cakes. Again they ruined them. This year on my daughters third b'day I ordered again, so foolishly, mini mouse cupcakes (like the pic given above ) and a peppa big cake very basic and simple. I was fuming when they gave me my order. It was nowhere what I ordered. Same happened to peppa pig cake. I didn't argue with them. Silently collected the thing and walked out the their awful shop, deciding never to return. And I am never going to them ever again. read more

After reading all the hype about the Boston Creme Pie, I made my way up to Conti's yesterday. The Boston Creme Pie is all it has been hyped up to be and more. Most Boston Creme Pies are bogged down with commercial custard filling, not Conti's, it is unique, light, wonderful. I brought the pie to a dinner party and everyone loved it. I also bought some Torcetti, although they are five times larger than the Torcetti I used to purchase at the old Stasi's in Corona ( no longer there) Conti's version is wonderful, light and sugary. Perfect with a morning cup of coffee. You must make your way to Conti's and try it for yourself. The Boston Creme Pie comes in four sizes making it perfect for a dinner pary of any size. read more

I would never come back to this shop. Had an issue twice my wife ordered a specific cake and her dumb ass paid before looking at the product to find out what she was told could be done. We asked for a credit and the owner came with a million and one excuses to avoid the reason. Recently celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary and Conti's made my cake, it looked incredible and tasted delicious. A scrumptious sponge cake soaked in sherry, one layer filled with cannoli cream laced with chocolate chips and a second layer with chocolate cream and topped off with a buttercream frosting that had a hint of sherry. I used to love this place. However after going on Friday I am most disappointed. All of the baked goods seemed to have been there a while - nothing besides the rainbow cookies tasted fresh. Our wedding cake was by far one of our favorite aspects of our wedding. Several of our guests raved to us about how delicious it was! For our main three-tier cake, we chose the lemon chiffon infused with sherry, with a vanilla custard filling and buttercream frosting. We also ordered an additional sheet cake, which had cannoli cream filling. Both flavors were phenomenal. We worked with Senada during the planning process, and she was very positive and receptive when we were describing what we envisioned. The design was beautiful, especially the sugar flowers and ribbon that matched our color scheme. In addition, I've also had the pleasure of working with Conti's in the past for customized birthday cakes. Each time I've worked with them, the cakes have been delicious and beautifully designed, and the customer service was excellent. I look forward to working with this bakery again soon. read more

Honest Review. I've been to Conti's bakery a few times in the past and just recently made a stop there on Saturday. I figured I've tried their cookies and small bites size cheesecakes let me their apple pie a try. Before, I get to the good bad and the ugly let me say I love supporting mom and pop businesses. To be fair this place has its followers so my review is based on my opinion not anything else. Has anyone ever wondered why food chains like Panera bread and many others franchises similar can sell sandwiches, salads, desserts and at the same time taste better than the restaurants /bakery's who actually say they special in one thing. Anyone supporting a mom and pops business can understand paying a little more especially when you believe hard work and quality ingredients are paramount. The truth.... You ever here that chant in sports. (OVER-RATED) okay so like I said in the past I've tried their cookies and small cheesecakes. Cookies I can get those at BJs or Costco which taste better by the way. Cheesecake texture is way off not even close. They need to figure out their cream cheese ratio because it's flat and lack that creamy texture. Why else would we call it cheese cake. Now on to this apple pie. (oh dear) I have never had an apple pie that contained sauce like gelatin. To think I actually put my vanilla Haagen Daz Ice cream on a $8 gelatin pie. Does it surprise me no it doesn't it's called being to comfortable and honoring a family name more than its customers. Since reviews became popular local businesses seem to fluff their reviews to get more business. It's unfortunate because the Apple Pie at BJs was 10x better than the Conti's brand think I'm lying see for yourself. Go out and buy both pies and judge for yourself. To the owners please read this review because you are fooling yourself if you think you know how to bake. It's a shame because these local people have no idea what good eats are. This is why we pay more money for homemade baked goods. Using cheap products and or lack having good recipes is a big No No. You can't fool people not everyone stays in the Bronx. Long review. I was so excited about this place initially because it was a great experience the first time, bought 3 cakes for a huge party we thew for out parents with 250 guest. I insisted my sister in law get her cake for her boys birthdays here, she was getting 2 cakes and a third one for my aunts bday. The lady at the front was very helpful and nice, we were on the third cake which was really simple when we noticed the manager looked a little upset and told her to pretty much go take care of something. When she left, I told him jovially we were actually wrapping up and should be done in no more than 20 minutes. With a serious face he says make an appointment you've been here an hour and she doesn't have 20 more minutes to spend with you because she needs to be helping my customers (mind you in this hour when customers came in she went to attend to them and we were totally fine with that while we picked out the design we wanted). I nicely told him that we were also his customer and we called prior and were told we could walk in without an appointment but, an appointment was needed if we wanted the cake tasting. He raises his voice at his staff demanding to know who took our call, I ask him why and in a loud voice says he is going to cut there pay for it. This is where I lost it and knew I was done with this place, he finds out who and addresses her right in front of us. Ego tripping rude rude man lol, dont know how else to qualify him, I was more upset at how he treated his employee and that my sister in law was affected by the experience because she was quiet and I knew she was close to tears. The fact that we were pretty much done and he could have calmly seen that and nicely told us for next time. Going with my first experience would have given this place 5 stars but I wont subject my family and friends to being disrespected or give my money to this business. I've always been fond of this bakery as they have delicious pastries etc., but after my visit today I can honestly say I will never be going back. Waited 20 minutes before walking out - none of the workers acknowledged that me and my mother were waiting to order coffee and pastries. No eye contact etc. And they helped a gentleman who came in after us. Beyond rude. I'm 7 months pregnant and also wanted to inquire about having cupcakes and cookies made for my upcoming shower but I rather give my business to a bakery with better customer service. Will also be forgoing the provided cake from the venue where my shower is as they partner with Conti's, instead having another bakery provide the cake. Not sure if the ever growing popularity of this place is going to their heads but definitely not the same warm and cozy establishment I was used to years prior. I ordered a cake for my wedding. it was red and gold which were my colors, but the caked looked horrible. It look like they put it together at the last minute in a rush . the ribbons on the cake were crooked and it look sloppy. I was so disappointed. The cake always had wine glasses to hold up the top tier of the cake. I wanted them to be in glass and I got plastic flutes. So, I will never order from them again! This was in 5/2016. I purchased some pastries yesterday . Let me let you know I was fully disgusted. My mouse pastry tasted like the cake was getting ready to mold. It totally left a bad taste in my mouth. I live in New Rochelle, NY, which is more importantly located in Westchester County. So, when I was in need for a birthday cake for my daughter's 1st birthday, it only made sense to look into the bakeries around my neighborhood first before venturing out. It wasn't until I started making phone calls that I realized that most bakeries in New Rochelle, or more importantly, Westchester County, quote prices that are definitely out of my income bracket. So, my next option was to check out some of the bakeries in the Bronx and to my surprise, I came across this very REASONABLE gem, Conti's bakery. They made a beautiful angel-themed pull apart cupcake "cake" mixed with red velvet and vanilla cupcakes within just days of finding them online. They called me when a change had to be made to my order a few days before and I only had to wait about 10 minutes to get my cake once it was ready. Overall, it was a great experience and I've already referred them to my family and friends who have asked me about needing a cake in the future. read more

You can not knock that all of their cakes and pastries are beautiful.. but they do not taste the same anymore, I ordered a beautiful cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. When I opened the box everyone said how beautiful it looked and my daughter loved it. When I took a bite out of it I was mortified The sponge was hard as if it was sitting there for a few days, the ones who took a piece quickly put it down and the others didn't eat it so I was left with basically a whole cake to throw in the garbage. I trusted it's reviews and decided to give it a try. To me, first impressions really mean a lot. And let me tell you, IT WAS GREAT!! The place looks amazing and that just woo'd me. Looks way better than Martha's Bakery!! This is definitely not what I expected to see right here in the Bronx! It was way more than I expected.
