This place is a lifesaver!! instead of having to purchase pricey equipment that you might not need again, you can borrow it from them. They are well organized, friendly and their equipment is in good shape. What a great service! I had no idea that it would be possible to borrow this equipment rather purchase it outright. Once I registered, all i had to do was tell them what I needed and drive by to pick it up. The staff is friendly and helpful. My wife had an operation for spinal stenosis about a month ago, and she continues to use the equipment that we borrowed for as long as she needs them. Remarkably, this business has been around (I think) for 100 years. I noticed that they place a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. As i pulled up I noticed an employee washing equipment out in back. This service has been such a blessing. I had no idea it even existed until one of my dad's caregivers suggested it. We thought we were going to have to find a way to come up with the money to buy all of these medical supplies because my dad is home bound. Instead of having to bear the expense we were able to rent the equipment and in turn we made a donation to the organization so that they can continue to provide their amazing service to others. My father was released from the hospital (where they lost his quad cane) and I needed to have things like another cane, a shower chair and a toilet safety rail to help. I didn't even know about the safety rail which is a much better option than a toilet riser, in our case where my mother is also using the bathroom. He was finally able to shower using the chair yesterday. I'm so grateful as he's unable to stand long enough. When my best friend broke her tailbone and knee the Convalescent Aid Society really saved the day! Filling out the online application took some doing, but once we were in the system, requesting items and picking them up was a breeze! The items are sanitized and in new condition. This program has economically helped my elderly neighbor immensely! We are extremely grateful and appreciate the Burbank location~ my only criticism (hopefully a constructive one) is that the online only application process is arduous for those who are not familiar with current technology (ie the elderly) I understand that there may not be resources for extended hours, but when a staff member is working, it would be beneficial for them to be able to process a manual application over the phone. a true asset when you need medical equipment for a short period of time. A very professional and kind group of people will help you borrow most medical equipment from walkers to hospital beds. Since the last time they helped me (pre-covid) they have instituted a non-contact method of checking out equipment. There is no cost, so donating any additional medical equipment you may have at the end of your recovery is a great way to say thanks and pay it forward.
