Convi is such a cute spot that has a variety of specialty grocery items and offers all day breakfast items. I got their breakfast burrito for $16 and it came with eggs, bacon, pickled jalapeños, and cheese. The guy working was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the burrito and it came with this delicious chile de arbol salsa. They have some tables outside and their neighboring coffee shop, Jurassic Magic, has seating inside. Parking is minimal, just have to find a spot on the side streets.

    Italian Sandwich $20

I had never heard of this place before, and don't often venture to Mid-City, but a friend who knows all the trendy spots wanted to take me here to try their sandwiches. It's a cute, off-the-beaten-path venue - a sandwich shop that also feels like a hipster convenience store, kind of a cross between a NOLA and a Japanese-style convenience shop. I was told their breakfast burrito and Italian sandwich are great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They recommended the Italian for a big appetite, and it was indeed filling! The bread was fantastic - either they have great in-house baking skills or source it from a top-notch bakery. While not a classic Italian sub, the one I had with pepperoncini was delicious and satisfying. I'd definitely go back and try the breakfast burrito. However, it is a bit pricey. The Italian sandwich came to over $20, which seemed a bit pricey for the area.

Tried the breakfast burrito and it was absolutely delicious! I subbed the bacon in the breakfast burrito for avocado and it was wonderful. The crisp from the tater tots complimented the soft scrambled eggs and the hot sauce is very tasty.

Me and my sister got Soyrizo Burritos and they were SO BOMB I have tried many bfast burritos in LA and this one is genuinely so good I'd go back for it! It's less expensive than the Sobuneh one and tastes better... + the environment is so cute !

This little hidden gem tucked in a neighborhood. Give me nyc bodega vibes but much cooler. Loved all the details of all the items too purchase candy and my favorite chips from Spain. Don't get me started on the food. I always had a hard time deciding one of the owners helped me with ordering the crispy chicken sandwich. Delicious! Sandwiches were delicious and the breakfast burrito is a must try. I also had the Italian sub. Check out their sister location next door for some amazing coffee at jurassic magic.

The avocado toast was definitely worth the money! It was basically a full avocado and the service was so nice. It's def a great place to do some work it's just refreshing outside.

    breakfast burrito - $14

I'm a big fan of Jurassic Magic (partner coffee shop just next door) but was disappointed by Convi's high prices and food quality. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito which was $14. This was priced a little high for the size and ingredients, but it is LA, so I thought why not. Initially when eating the burrito I thought it tasted okay but the hot sauce really helped add flavor. I then ate the second half of the burrito a couple of hours later and immediately got sick. I don't think it was food poisoning, but my stomach had already been feeling queasy and I believe it was due to the oil/grease in the burrito. I do recognize it was my choice to eat the burrito and it also is my tolerance of greasy foods (I almost never eat fast food) but for the price of the burrito I can't justify the taste and/or quality. Also, someone ordered the veggie sandwich and it was an addition $4 to add turkey which is exhorbitant for this being a corner store. I didn't try anything else but noted a cup of fruit was $5 and small parfait with fruit was $6. I most likely won't be back unless I'm in a pinch. The outdoor setup is beautiful but I recommend the coffee shop Jurassic Magic only.

The non-pretentious, upscale, carefully curated but still nostalgic neighborhood bodega you didn't know you needed. The breakfast egg sandwich (with bacon) was beautifully crafted but with the taste to match. A perfect balance egg to bacon to aioli ratio. With a smackin brioche bun. Then they got the onigiri situation which is just a cheat code to joy for me so... shout out this whole store and the kind people working here. (Also they got the good ass dried mango you be looking for everywhere)

The oldest confectionery shop makes a variety of mochi and manju daily for about $2 a piece. Unfortunately, they don't make the best gifts as they must be eaten within a couple of days. They also carry some rare candy that can't even be found in Japan anymore. During my last visit, I got a few with strawberry, blueberry and chocolate flavored red bean filling as well as LA Dodgers imprinted pancakes. Chewy goodness! They can get pretty busy during the weekends, but weekdays are a quick in and out process. The staff are patient and helpful in explaining the treats. There's no seating. It's just a grab n go shop.

The historic shop has a charming old-fashioned feel, and the service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Every mochi tasted incredibly fresh, with a soft, pillowy texture that showcased the craftsmanship behind each handmade piece. **Sho-Mochi: 5/5** One of Fugetsu-Do's signature creations, the Sho-Mochi was a true standout. The vibrant blue mochi was incredibly soft and chewy, while the silky white chocolate ganache filling delivered a rich, creamy sweetness that melted effortlessly on the palate. **Strawberry Anko Mochi: 4/5** The strawberry anko mochi featured a soft, pillowy wrapper filled with a blend of strawberry and smooth white bean paste, then topped with a hazelnut chocolate ganache that added a rich, nutty sweetness. Unfortunately, the strawberry filling tasted somewhat artificial, lacking the fresh, vibrant fruit flavor I was hoping for. **Green Tea Mochi: 5/5** My love for matcha made this an easy standout. Filled with smooth white bean paste infused with matcha, it offered a pleasant balance of earthy, slightly bittersweet notes and subtle sweetness. **Mango Mochi: 5/5** Bursting with natural mango flavor, this mochi was wonderfully refreshing from the very first taste. Its springy chew created a pleasantly airy, satisfying texture, while the gentle sweetness rounded out the bright, fruity notes. Fugetsu-Do has earned its legendary reputation through generations of exceptional craftsmanship. From the incredibly fresh mochi to the diverse selection of handcrafted flavors, every piece reflects the care and tradition that have made this shop a beloved destination for decades. Whether you're visiting Little Tokyo for the first time or returning for a nostalgic treat, it's a timeless stop that's well worth experiencing.
