I've been hearing about Cofax breakfast burritos for years, but I don't live in LA so I had never been. I decided to take a trip and finally try them out. I wasnt disappointed! We got the hot link BB and the Bacon. Like most of the new age BB's these days, they were on the smaller side, and pretty pricey. But they were both jam packed with FLAVOR. The pickled Jalapeño inside was a great touch. I'd say the Bacon was better than the hot link, but it doesn't mean the hot link wasnt good. Great smoky flavor. Of course cuz its LA, the parking situation is horrendous. So if you can take someone with you that can hop out and grab the food, you'll be doing yourself a favor. Cofax is definitely a top 5 BB. Tiny brekk spot. Great service. Bacon burrito is 10/10. Crispy toasted fresh tortilla and lots of bacon. Love the jalapenos inside. I like to layer on both salsas. Delicious. Brisket burrito 8/10 tons of big chucks of brisket. Love the sweet hibiscus iced tea. It is LA prices but you get a lot of food. The burrito is like two meals. Definitely worth trying! read more

The breakfast burritos are the bomb! Perfectly enclosed so u can eat on the run and seriously stuff with lots of goodness. Amazing how much bacon they actually give you. The bacon burrito is great with some added avocado. read more

After a full day of moving, we just wanted to sleep in and stay put. My boyfriend ordered us their breakfast burritos and it was solid. We added avocado for that healthy fat. Their green salsa was favorite to pair with the burrito. The egg was cooked perfectly, not too chewy. There was a good amount of bacon! We didn't get to try their coffee so we might have to dine in next time. Their take-out traveled well, can only imagine how it is for dine-in! read more

I've been to Cofax Coffee many times now and like it a lot! They have the same ownership as Bludso's Bar & Que which is a brand I have great confidence in! Known for their breakfast burritos, they are quite good here. I'm not gonna pretend it's as thick as my usual spot for a slightly higher price, but still - quite good! I have had the Crispy bacon, tater tots, jack cheese, scrambled egg & pickled jalapeños, as well as the Smoked chorizo hash with potatoes, bell peppers and onions, scrambled egg, jack cheese, pico de gallo & crushed tortilla chips. Good medleys of ingredients, ingredients always cooked well and seem fresh, great flavor. This is a really reliable spot for me for a great bfast burrito for sure. Bonus, they have Nuts & Bolts donuts here, nice and fluffy little guys. I love the chocolate! Main thing though, the coffee is fabulous here. They use Counter Culture Coffee, according to their website. It's bold, rich and gives me just the caffeine boost I need. Pastrami burrito was packed with flavorful chunks of pastrami. Very filling. Comes with 2 choices of sauces. $18 is a bit steep but with a doordash discount making it $12, it was worth it. Parking isn't easy in the middle of fairfax ans there isnt muxh seating, but i got my food to go so wasnt a big deal for me. The burrito is very good, one of the better 'gourmet options in the area. read more

Generous portions, reasonably priced. Ordered online and food delivered so can't comment on service. Had the veggie burrito which was good but not amazing (didn't include cheese because lactose intolerant), tossed on the red chili salsa which gave it more flavor because it was a bit bland for me, even added avocado. Maybe adding seasoned mushrooms could give it some more flavor or crispy potatoes instead of soft. Had better burrito but this isn't bad. Was just here on Tuesday may 5th I got the hot link burrito bomb!! My boyfriend got the chorizo burrito. This is our second time here and it was so good service is always amazing. Once listed in the infamous "50 Places to eat before you die" articles in thrillist and huff post and once in the LA Times, this place's burritos have fallen far from their prominence. I remember the line going out the door. Now it's practically a ghost town. The doughnuts are still pretty delicious and apparently the coffee is good, still lots of patrons coming in for that. But you have got to be kidding me with the burritos. I was so disappointed, I made a special trip across town, completely out of my way just to get a burrito for myself and my lady. We bought two, what a waste. Where are the crunchies? Where was the chorizo? It was like an egg and cheese burrito, just horrible. I don't know who is in charge of this place, but you've ruined it!! Who in their right mind would have changed the burrito recipe? It's madness. No wonder no one comes in anymore, you should ashamed, and you should remove the kitchen and all your breakfast burritos from the menu. Give it up, it's over. I do not recommend going, and I'm probably never going to try another burrito from here. Whoever the new owner is ought to be tarred and feathered, you sir or madam destroyed a national treasure! read more

OKAY. I used to live in La and come here for a coffee and burrito all the time and it never disappointed. I'm back visiting from New York for the first time in a long time and it still slaps . I love this place so much. It has to be the best breakfast burrito spot in La. A picture of the burrito didn't make it, but the strawberry donut was definitely the cherry on top. We have been hoping to find the best breakfast burrito in LA, so we came to Cofax! We got the impossible and chorizo burritos.m for a total of $32. Impossible burrito (4/5): The soy chorizo was flavorful and the eggs were cooked well. Sometimes eggs are rubbery when you buy them at restaurants, but this definitely wasn't the case here. I removed the pinto beans and did not feel like the burrito was missing anything! It took many bites of the burrito to reach the impossible meat, so I wish the ingredients were more evenly distributed. Burritos came with a red and green salsa which both paired well, but I think I am more of a creamy sauce type of person. I don't believe there's sauce inside the burrito itself which I would've liked. If they toasted the burritos a little bit, that would be nice as well since the tortillas were very soft (not in a bad way). Street parking available. Burritos took around 25 minutes to be done. read more

The pastrami breakfast burrito here is absolutely insane. $18 is well worth it for the size, quality, and flavor for this burrito. The burrito is toasted nicely to add a crispness to the tortilla. The eggs are cooked well, the tots are crispy, it's cheesy, and the mustard adds a great hint of flavor plus that bold savoriness from the pastrami is amazing. We drove out to Fairfax to try Cofax when I saw they had a special breakfast burrito in collaboration with the YouTube channel Good Mythical Morning. As expected, we had to park a little bit away and walk in. There's no dedicated parking for Cofax which is on par with every other businesses in this area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store itself is really nice and welcoming. It's small, but it never felt cramped while we were there at 10:30am on a Saturday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are a few bar stools to sit on, one small nook in the corner, and 2 small tables outside. It definitely feels like this is built to be more of a to go spot than dine in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor is very Dodgers which I personally loved. They have a ton of bobbleheads everywhere that my sons loved. It definitely adds to the 'we're your neighborhood brunch spot' vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful. A+ to them. However, we found everything we ordered to just be fine. Not to mention my wife ordered a veggie breakfast sandwich and we didn't realize until we left that they actually gave us a veggie breakfast burrito. Not a huge issue, but she was definitely disappointed especially since we couldn't conveniently go back to have the order fixed. The burritos are all big and filling, but you're definitely paying for mostly potatoes. And when you're being charge $13 or so for one, you would at least hope there would be more meat to justify that price point. The burrito I got was very tasty (it was a hot link breakfast burrito that I will admit was very unique and did have a great heat kick to it). My sons shared a bacon burrito but what we didn't know was that they included a bunch of jalapeños in it that scared them away from eating more. Even after we picked them out, there was still some of the juice in there that ruined it for them. I wish we had known that before we ordered so we could ask to have them not included. I could be wrong, but I feel like jalapeno isn't that common of a breakfast burrito item so it never even crossed our mind to ask for it. We thought maybe some pico de Gallo or something in it, but not jalapeños. Oh well. I guess live and learn. So, in all, would I rush back to Cofax? No. I don't think it was worth the drive from the valley for us. However, if I'm ever in the area and in the mood for a breakfast burrito, I could see myself swinging by and picking one up. It was tasty enough. But I would just call it more of a treat than a regular spot to hit up. Especially given the price point and lack of parking. read more

This place has lived up to the hype for sure!!! My bf brought me here after he came the day before with a friend and said I had to try their breakfast burritos! He's already come before and had their smash burger which he really likes! I got the veggie burrito with no egg (I have a weird allergy to eggs!) they were kind enough and gave me extra veggies and avocado to replace the eggs. It was bomb af!!! Their salsa are so good the red one a little to spicey for my liking though. My bf got the bacon burrito that comes with hash brown inside! He loved it! We also got two coffees, a French toast donut and a cinnamon roll! In total it was like $35? but honestly what do you expect in Fairfax! Anyways we'll definitely return the staff we're all super nice. It ALWAYS makes the list of best "breakfast burritos" for the websites that are so inclined. Good coffee, too. I'll be honest, COFAX is the best breakfast burrito in the city. The Pastrami breakfast burrito is mind blowing good. So why am I only giving 3 stars? Because they consistently fail to make it properly. It comes with jalapenos. A lot of people like that but I hate them. Hate them. Cofax has modification option of "no jalapenos" which is awesome...if it works. 3 of the last 5 burritos I ordered came with jalapenos even though I ordered without. So I paid almost $20 (not to mention the delivery fees and wait) for something I didn't order and can't eat. Accuracy and consistency are the most important things to keep me coming back. If Cofax can't manage to make the burritos without jalapenos, they should take that mod option off the apps. read more

If I could sum up my hot link burrito and drip coffee experience in one word it would be: solid. Ordered for delivery for a lazy Saturday morning and overall enjoyed my breakfast. The hot link burrito is tasty and comes in decent portion size. Ample portions of egg, hashbrowns, and Bludso hot link sausages in each bite. The tortilla seems to be good quality and kept all the tasty bits in neatly including some pieces of pickled jalapeños. Also always appreciate a place that serves both roja and verde salsa. Drip coffee with almond milk was also good for that morning wake up. Overall, not too shabby for a quick AM wakeup. read more

I got takeout from CoFax and I'll definitely be back! There's too many coffee shops to choose from in LA but if you're looking for a top notch breakfast burrito and a yummy homemade spiced chai - add this spot to your roster! Order was ready when it said it would be, the employees were very friendly and on top of it and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's obviously a popular spot because there was a line to the door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking can be a bit dicey in the neighborhood especially if you're there on the weekend AND the weather is nice out so allow for extra time if you're on the clock. They're on the list for some of the best breakfast burritos around. Would it hold up to the hype? I ordered on an app and picked up a bacon burrito and a pastrami one too. Hard to pick a favorite. They were loaded with everything. I got mine with avocado too. It held up and didn't get soggy. It was fresh with high quality ingredients. For the pastrami, it was big chucks of tender meat. And the service was quick and efficient at this small shop. Plus the coffee was really good too. I got a cold brew and loved the flavor. Not bitter at all. Just a banger of a place. TLDR: 4/5 - Definitely the most expensive breakfast burrito you'll have in LA but if its a bucket list LA must-do then I think it is worthy if can't find somewhere else! Came here on a Sunday morning and it was already packed at a quarter to 10. Ordered: Matcha Latte: 5/5 - Great balance of sweetness! Burrito w bacon: 4/5 - Its weird there's elements of this I would rank higher than others so here we go, first time trying. Creativity: 5/5 - I would say all their options were fairly unique than your average hash, egg and meat. The meat variety and the various cheeses in it elevated it. Beefcake size?: 5/5 - Definitely the heaviest breakfast burrito I've had. So just on that alone is probably worth the price. Ingredient combo: 3/5 - I think it had allll the elements of something great. It was textbook good. But there wasn't enough egg to cheese ratio to potato. There was too much cheese. But there was a shocking amount of bacon (kinda worth the $$ on that alone) but making it too salty but because of the lack of starch it wasn't being absorbed. And then the jalapeno was a great add on if it wasn't just kinda sitting there while dealing with the cheese globs and salt from the bacon. Def couldn've been harmonious. It came with some pretty good salsa on the side too that had a good kick! Ambiance: 3.75/5 It is small. There's a single table and bar seating. It is the type of neighborhood spot you can tell a lot of locals go too just based on how they were ordering and who was coming in. Still quite the rush. We were lucky to snag the one table. Other: Parking: 2/5 - I mean its off Fairfax you should know the vibes. At least if you go on a sunday morn you won't have to worry about street metered but your best bet is the side streets. For years I've been told best breakfast burritos around. Finally tried it sorry but totally disagree. The bacon burrito is horribly dry barely had egg in the top half. Stuffed with bacon so if you want to eat side of bacon in tortilla this is your jam. Def not umami in this thing. Give it 4 stars anyway as just my opinion and some people may like a dry burrito with bacon and dry tater tots. Not my jam read more

This review is for delivery. I ordered the breakfast burrito special bogo and the donut bogo. Great deal but I know why. I think they may have been trying to unload those burritos. They were terrible and inedible. I had heard from so many people that these were the best. It was pretty disappointing to spend all that money having them delivered and not being able to eat it. They were not only cold which is to be expected with delivery sometimes, but the "chorizo" wasn't mixed in with the egg and it was like rubber and the taste was off. The reason for the additional star is the donut was bomb! It tasted fresh and was super fluffy. Maybe it was an off day for the burrito but I hate to say I definitely won't be ordering it again. read more

Delicious and an LA staple. We got our breakfast to go and ate it in the car. I got the veggie breakfast sandwich and my brother got the chorizo burrito. We started with some OJ - and yes fresh squeezed and phenomenal. I've had the breakfast burrito previously and it's solid! It's packed with my favorite ingredients and is filling. This was my first time trying their breakfast sandwich and I'm a fan of the brioche bread. The egg was crispy but yolky and I loved that they added arugula. Solid spot! Will def be back. read more

Cofax Coffee is a solid stop if you are in the mood for a breakfast burrito in a relaxed setting. I tried their well known burrito and it was good, just not amazing. The eggs, cheese, and protein were cooked well and tasted balanced, but nothing really stood out or surprised me. It was filling and comforting, but it did not hit that next level I was expecting. This spot gets a lot of hype, including being known as Jonah Hill's favorite breakfast burrito. I get why people like it, but I would not call it the best out there. The flavors were solid, and the sauces helped add some extra depth, but overall it felt more safe than memorable. My main issue was the portion size. It was satisfying, but I finished it wishing it was a little bigger, especially for the price. The burrito was actually really tasty and it was worth the wait. The problem in my view is the lady at the front which I assume is the owner, maybe. There were zero warmth and zero greetings, no smile, no good morning, no personality, nothing. It was like what favor can I do for you. Best breakfast burrito in the city. I say that as someone who eats a lot of them. Surprisingly, the veggie one is better than the chorizo one, but hey, can't complain. Donuts are also special. I don't eat donuts. But they are an exception. Only thing that's annoying is the parking. I mean where can you park easily on Fairfax? Stopped in for a burrito and coffee and dined in. There is seating, but no restroom access -- not even to wash hands -- and there was no sign informing customers of this policy. This made the experience uncomfortable and felt unhygienic. read more
