We came here for dinner as it was one of the higher rated spots online in Osoyoos and came as a recommendation from our host at a winery that we stopped at on the way in. As a note to anyone that decides to come, the front door is to your very left. We mistakenly came through a large red door that ended up being an emergency exit. A bit of an awkward entrance but the staff were kind enough to seat us quickly anyhow. We sat at the bar (a preferred choice as my partner and I enjoy sharing our meals and being in close enough proximity so that we can hear each other ;) ). The young man who greeted us was a bit awkward but I soon figured he was quite new. A seemingly more experienced bartender ended up serving us. He was friendly, not too intrusive and timely with his service. Unfortunately I wish I could be more positive about the meal. The menu was not too inspiring. We ordered the osso bucco and lasagna. I was hungry enough to order a starter as well but nothing caught the eye. The lasagna was average. Not good not bad. The osso bucco at $31, I would've expected more from being priced the way it was. It was under seasoned and over cooked even though it was braised. It was sat on top of unseasoned and sauceless pasta noodles and roasted vegetables. Food has always been delicious, great curated local wine list, and service is always warm and welcoming-- despite the fact that we bring our 3 and 6 year old kids. We bumped in other tourists and had a great chat. Our server (forgot her name :( ) was very nice and made good recommendations. The food is always pricey in Canada, but that's how it is. My wife and I returned, this time on a cool, fall night visit. Many places were closed on the Remembrance Day holiday Monday Nov 12 but luckily Convivia was open. Glad we went back. We loved it. Server was Charles, he was really great. We shared a couple things , the Goat Cheese and Honey Pizza (it was phenomenal), and Giada's Osso Buco, Fettuccine (really tasty and delicious). Paired with Le Vieux Pin Petit it all tasted great! I can't quite give it a 5 star, I am only able to choose a 4 OR a 5 but if I could I would give it a solid 4 1/2 stars ! Funny I just saw and re-read my post from a year and a half ago for Convivia. Well, the 'view' (or lack there of) did not bother me as much this time, the food was great and we made sure to save some bites to bring home (the next day) for our boys to taste as we knew they would love it. Hmmm, that didn't totally work, our eldest ate it all! Sure enough, his instant reactions to the taste on his first bites were the same as ours. He loved it, even without the wine ;) Now we really can't wait to take friends and family back there. We ordered out for pick-up while staying at the Watermark. Had ordered from this place the last time we stayed for a wine weekend. At that time it was good - this time however!!!!! WOW YIKES!! ----------- We ordered the lasagna, it was soupy, tasteless and still frozen in the middle. It leaked all over the takeout bag soaking the napkins and leaked out the bottom of the bag all over the elevator floor. (Nice right?) The duck confit still had pin feathers and was so salty (independent of the feathers - was not even eatable!) If we had dined in I would have stood up from the table and walked out. Perhaps they save the crap for the "take-out" clients? I know that serving improperly heated food is a health and safety issue - and I am fairly sure pin feathers are not appealing for anyone! GROASE! So disappointed. My fiancée said while he was paying, he saw a server decanting wine from a box. Really? (That is rough too! - consider yourself warned!) eat at your own risk. Amazing time! We had the french onion soup, seafood salad, cassoulet and filet mignon-- everything was great, very flavourful, cooked well and good size portions. Immensely disappointing by the quality of food and level service. The food is no where near the level of excellence that it used to be. I used to recommend this place to anyone visiting Osoyoos. Now, I miss the old Conviva and will not be returning myself. We spent over $150 on dinner for four of us expecting it to be the same as it was in years prior. This is a total hidden gem. I'm a Seattle transplant who was having one hell of a time trying to come to grips with the fact that this area has such a terrible selection of food.... until I found this place. This perfectly decorated and tucked away restaurant is literally my saving grace. The food here is absolutely amazing...and might I say unique? They have some of the weirdest sounding soup combinations that are actually delicious . We dined here last night for a birthday celebration. We were seated promptly. Nice decor, French country meets modern chic. Loved the chandeliers! We all felt the room was quite warm after the 90 degree day, and the waitress was quick to turn on the air conditioning. Then the owner came over to explain that the engineer would be here to look at it this week. We ordered our drinks. They had a 'wine of the month' for 40$, a local Merlot blend from Montakarm. It was tasty but not like any merlot I've ever had before. One of our party had a white wine spritzer which she proclaimed delicious! They also had a small selection of beer, nothing on draft though. We ordered our dinners and then we waited. Over an hour. Anyway. The side salads were very fresh and garlicky. Just lettuce from a garden and a few veg, but super fresh ( not salad from a bag YEAH). The bread served was passable, looked like sliced ciabatta buns, homemade but didn't taste baked today, and was lacking salt. And butter in little plastic cups...sorry, but they should have some good butter or perhaps a compound butter, IMO. Dinner arrived, and we had quite a mixture so we could try a good selection of their dishes. Lamb shanks, two smaller ones, served with some roasted peppers and onions and pasta. Delicious. Cannelloni with ground veal. 3 rolls. Savory sauce. Plate cleaned. The Pirate seafood pasta, lots of smallish shrimp, light creamy lemony sauce. Pasta tastes freshly made but on our way out sous chef stated they don't make their own, they bring it in. The scallops with curry sauce appetizer. Delicious. Nice sear on 3 medium sized scallops. Saffron infused sauce. Yum. Poutine (appetizer size, 4 of us shared it). homemade fries, squeaky curds from Quebec, savory chicken gravy. Need I say more. And lastly, the pizza. We had the Napolitana. Pepperoni, mushroom, and a few diced red papers on top ( they were forgettable, they should have been roasted). Not sure of the cheese blend, maybe mozza and Gouda? My sister loved it. Thin crust. Perfectly cooked, no sogginess. We opted to fore go dessert as we had cake at home, but did see a cheesecake going past our table that looked fresh and was hoovered by the next table within minutes! So, would we go back? Yes. They have been open for 6-7 wks and I'm sure are slowly working the bugs out of service. There did look to be one waitress on duty so the kitchen staff was helping out. Our waitress was friendly, if vague. The bus girl was extremely attentive on the water and plate clearing. Caesar salad was fine but the menu didn't note it included bacon (for vegetarians). The Pirate (seafood) pasta was crazy overpriced - it had ~a half cup of pasta, a scallop, numerous teensy shrimp and a few shreds of crab for $24 - and it was crunchy from spending too much time in the oven. Visited for the first time in June of 2015 and was not expecting much and ended up being blown away! We had a party of 9 and I believe everyone enjoyed their food. I personally recommend the Seared Scallops and Portofino Seafood Salad. The staff treated us well and the food was so fresh! We heard some good reports about Convivia and decided to celebrate our 41st anniversary with dinner there. We both had the special which included soup or salad. The soup was apple and parsnip and was delicious. The Caesar salad was yummy, with rich garlic flavor. The fettuccine special was excellent and we shared the chocolate mousse to finish the night. It was more than the two of us could eat, and very rich and chocolaty. Tres bon. Great atmosphere and superb service by Charles. We'll be eating here more often. As a side note, the featured wine was Fortissimo from La Stella. It complimented the meal very well. I don't often recommend red wines from the OK, but this one was great. read more

Sat on patio for dinner.good wine selection, but server not very helpful, as she couldn, t tell us where this local winery was.It had a similar name to another, and I wanted to clarify.the brushetta was weird, instead of a toasted , crispy slice of bagette, it was a soggy large piece of bread with unidentifiable cheese and vegie on it.Server said it was fig but we later identified it as eggplant.had pasta with "fresh tomato sauce," but taste and texture of canned tomato puree.enough said.ordered ice wine to finish, to be told it wasn, t available .We will not return unless new chef and more informed server.also wrong salad from what was ordered.At least I was not charged for this. read more

The service was really horrible - 6 forgotten drink orders, one mistaken food order and it all took an hour for it to be delivered. We visited this restaurant in the summer of 2016 and it was excellent. We went for round 2 this year and it was horrid--a complete 180 experience. As a family of 6 we spent $360 and what a waste. Service was cold and delayed. Food ranged from average to awful. The simple things were not done: 2 mojitos were ordered upon arrival and remained on the table until our departure 2 hours later, despite the fact that we drank them within 10 minutes; waters were rarely topped up; we ordered 2 bottles of wine and the only time our server filled the glasses was when he brought the bottle to the table, the rest was self-serve; bruschetta came to the table completely burnt and black (when we pointed it out the server said "would you like me to send it back?); the broccoli from our main course was completely burnt; pirate pasta (white sauce) was cold and tasted like milk; osobuco was over seasoned and tasted like a pine tree, etc. One particularly memorable moment was when we ordered our meals and 2 of us ordered osobuco. Approximately 1.5 hours later, after we had finished our appetizers and were wondering what was taking so long, the server returned to the table and advised that they ran out of osobuco and 1 of us would have to choose something else. I sacrificed my preference for my girlfriend but as it turns out, I actually dodged a bullet because the osobuco was disgusting. Despite the fact that the dish remained untouched and our displeasure was voiced to the server, nothing was done about it. The server simply said in his pretentious French accent, "Oh, sorry" and walked away, hiding himself in the corner. The bill came and nothing was done. It's as if they could give a hoot. Finally, the chef asked how our experience was as we were walking out: we explained our frustrations and said that we would be sharing our negative experience. The chef replied, "You do that." I have never written a review in my life. I even slept on it before I wrote this and I still wanted to blast this lacklustre, inconsiderate, arrogant restaurant. Do not be surprised when this place goes belly up in 1-2 years after regular Osoyoos travellers experience what we did. read more

Went there Aug 29/17. Ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the sauce came out runny as though the pasta was barely drained. The meat had the texture of being boiled rather than smooth as a bolognese should. The sauce rather than rich tasted like burned jar sauce. The only thing rich about this was the price. When I showed the watery mess on the plate to the server she asked what was wrong with it. To the reviewer who thinks they save the worst for take out, wrong. This is a disgrace Italian restaurants everywhere. read more

We had dinner there Friday September 6th restaurant was clean attractive busy but not full it was recommended to us by a guest checking in at the hotel we were staying he raved about how good the food was so we were looking forward to having a good meal. My companion ordered the special parmesan chicken and I ordered the ossobuco. her chicken was acceptable but not exceptional, however I was surprised wen I saw my ossobuco it was huge and covered vegetables and pasta and a very watery brown sauce in a very large bowl. I tried cutting it was tough and fatty I don't think it was a veal shank as the bone was in excess of 3.5 inches it must have been a cow shank. I thought the server would be back to check to see if we were enjoying our meals but did not come back until my companion had finished he asked me if I wanted my dish packed up to take home I told him no and that I was not satisfied and in no way resembled any recipe I had ever made or had and enjoyed many times at other restaurants he said he was sorry he came back with the bill for the full amount and I paid it with a generous tip as I did not want to create a dispute I just wanted to leave I regret leaving the tip as the service was slow and poor. this is the first time I have ever posted a review hopefully it will help someone avoid making the same mistake I did. read more

We basically just had appetisers and one person had a main entree and none of us had drinks. That came out to over a hundred bucks for 4 people. Terrible from the start. Could not get through to reserve. Just showed up and got a table. Down hill from there. Terrible service, waited over 20 minutes for drinks, appies and food slightly ok and main course came cold. Ordered second drinks and did not arrive until long after we finished our meal. Again probably 20 minutes. People that showed up after us got served before us. We are from South Surrey and also own a place in osoyoos. Will never go to or recommend this restraunt to anyone. Food is very good and service was excellent! Really enjoyed my seafood pasta meal (considering how far from the ocean we are). My wife felt her chicken was a bit salty and rice was a bit "uncle ben'sish". This is however a proper bistro/restaurant and they prepare the food fresh. This means if you have kids it is a bit slow coming to the table so bring something for the kids to do! read more

We decided to try this restaurant for dinner but were very disappointed. We ordered Calamari which was very greasy and after one piece left it the way it was brought to us. Our ceaser salad had chicken that was cut in cubes, and must have been cooked hours earlier because it was very dry. The salad dressing tasted very generic and not reminiscent of an italian restaurant. I asked my server if they could make my 4yr old plain spaghetti with just olive oil, and was pleased to hear they would do it (its difficult to feed a picky eater). The spaghetti showed up plain, but crunchy, like they forgot it on the frying pan too long. The caneloni was alright, but nothing to be remembered. We were so looking forward to eating out at this place after reading the reviews, but unfortunately left a sour taste in our mouth.
