I also decided to order a side order of pancakes - after all, a growing boy needs his calories. As you can see by the photo, it came out perfect... and delivered 15 minutes after we ordered (is that a long time? It can always be faster, but I was ok with it). All of us enjoyed what we ordered and the coffee service was constant. I especially loved the sausage patties!!! Yummy! So I would definitely recommend Birdie Bistro when you're in Dubuque. Is it the best ever (5-star), no - I won't bore you with my reason why (to each their own). But Birdie should be proud.. It was average. We got there at 10:40, placed our order at 10:50 after figuring out what to do. We received our coffee at 11:15. 25 minutes later. Our coffee was luke warm & not exceptional. Our food was received at 11:40. The girl apologized for food taking so long, but really the food wasn't amazing for spending $40. It was kind of ridiculous the pricing, considering the burrito was small & the fruit bowl had mandarins oranges from a can when it said "fresh fruit." I would be back, maybe if they can promise me it won't be over an hour to receive everything I ordered. I'm glad dubuque has something like this. But maybe more employees would help? Preparing the coffee right away would limit the number of checks hanging just for coffee. read more
