    Rock Coo Coo
    Mike S.

Stopped in closer to closing to get my hands on the Rock CooCoo which seemed like the sandwich to get. I really appreciated the ordering system where you are given a little pager so you can go grab a seat in the food court and just come back to grab your food that was packaged to go in a brown bag. My sandwich was lava hot inside so it took me a few minutes after the initial bite to actually eat this thing. The Rock Coocoo comes simply with some insipid wilted lettuce and a pale pink tomato slice - no dressing. Perhaps because I ordered so close to closing my chicken was inconsistent - a couple of bites were plump and juicy while the majority was stringy and disappointing. Fries and a can of soda rounded out the combo - both did the job. My friend ordered a wrap called the CooCoo Wang with cucumber and sweet sauce inside she really enjoyed - it was pretty sizeable so she finished a little over half, but good thing my friend Roger was with us where he came to bat clean up! Admittedly, I am a man of relatively simple taste. When Popeye's introduced their chicken sandwich it kinda ruined all others for me - for the price and the quality (when its made fresh) it usually leaves me pretty satisfied. Ticks all the boxes I want in a chicken sandwich. For more than double the price and judging by the reviews along with my own experience there seems to be a consistency issue here. I'm not sure I would take another shot on Coo Coo Cachoo. Perhaps you will have better luck!

BLUF: Good sandwiches and wings made to order; skip the fries and drink. Recommended: the "Rock CooCoo" sandwich. Coo Coo Cachoo surprised us in a good way. In our first visit, we ordered Coo Coo's "Combo B" meal, which consists of a sandwich or wrap, two wings, fries and drink for $17.15 after tax. We selected the "Rock CooCoo" sandwich ($8.99 by itself) and garlic aoli flavored wings. The resulting bundle of food was nearly monochromatic, aside from the sad (desaturated) slices of lettuce and tomato in the sandwich, so we had low expectations for how the sandwich would taste. The Rock CooCoo sandwich was delicious -- crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. This was one of the best chicken sandwiches we've had in a long time. That said, I would really like to see Coo Coo use higher quality and larger slices of lettuce and tomato. The garlic aoli wings were similarly delicious -- crunchy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside, with a good garlicky flavor imbued from the batter. Skip the combo -- i.e., the shoestring fries and choice of soft drink, as both are just ordinary. We have tried other sandwiches, but our favorite to date is the Rock Coo Coo: - "Gua-Gua CooCoo": trades the lettuce and tomato of the "Rock CooCoo" with a somewhat thin guacamole, and some leafy greens. We've had better guacamole elsewhere. - "Islander CooCoo": grilled chicken and pineapple. Ours came with too much pineapple sauce that disintegrated the bread. - "CooCoo Cod": two deep-fried fish filets on a sesame bun with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. Ours was tasty but not executed well; the fish retained too much oil. Other: - Coo Coo makes its food to order, and recently implemented a wireless buzzer system to let customers wander and visit other places instead of wait for their food. In our last visit on a recent weekday evening, we waited about 10 minutes for our food. - Eat your food as soon as possible. The sandwiches are wrapped in sandwich paper and then placed in cardboard containers. This combination traps enough heat from the freshly-fried chicken to cook the greens in the sandwich if the sandwich is left unattended for too long, resulting in sad, wilty-looking greens. Tangram Mall provides restroom facilities and complimentary VPN-friendly Wi-Fi. The men's restroom by the food court hasn't had a functional sink for weeks. There is another set of restrooms downstairs, with an entrance next to Xi'an Famous Foods.

4.5 stars Tangram Mall's food court is slowly opening more stalls and options for dining. While visiting today, we saw that CooCooCachoo had finally opened. So glad that they opened a location here in Tangram's food court. Currently, most of the food selections in Tangram are fancy sit-down restaurants so it's nice to have other options. They are tucked in the back near the entrance of Hoi Polloi. I ordered the Make It CooCoo's Way Combo A ($12.75), which consisted of a sandwich or wrap, fries and a drink. Since it was my first time trying them out, I ordered their signature Rock CooCoo chicken sandwich for the combo. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this sandwich. It's honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I've eaten in a long while. The chicken was juicy, tender, and perfectly fried. It wasn't overly battered, and the coating retained its crispiness. The sandwich had a slice tomato, lettuce, and their signature sauce. I wished it had a bit more sauce (some kind of aioli) but other than that it was perfect and delicious. The fries were meh. I would recommend getting one of their dipping sauces to help elevate it. After I inhaled the chicken sandwich, I was seriously considering getting another. It was that good. Luckily, I restrained myself and got dessert instead at one of the other food stalls BUT I am already planning my next trip here so I can try more of their menu out. Ko

Ordered the "Rock" chicken sandwich. So unexpected. It was great! The meat was moist, tender and tasty. And not covered with too much breading. Just a light amount, which gave it a slight crispiness. Those of you who need it to be super crunchy, will need to go elsewhere because that requires a lot more breading. Crisp lettuce and tomato add the perfect touch. A great sandwich. I'd definitely get it again. I'm surprised about all the negative reviews here. They did open recently so maybe they are a bit overwhelmed when they get too many orders. I notice there is only one cook. I went when there wasn't many customers.. Recommendation. Order their signature "Rock" sandwich. Their wings aren't bad either. But could use some sauce. They were out of truffle sauce. That stuff goes great on burgers, fries, etc. Yum! Seating. It's in a food court so there is plenty of seating.

I got a chicken sandwich and it was raw when I called, and spoke to a server to let them know they said it was the seasoning that turned the chicken a different color.

Considering this place opened recently, I understand that it is new and still working out the kinks. I was browsing the food stands before 12PM on MLK Monday and watched one person start chopping ingredients at CooCooCaChoo. They have one cashier who also packs the food. I was the sixth order and it took about 20 minutes as the food is made fresh and there is only one cook. As I've written for Tangram Mall, bring your patience. Line can be long to order and getting the food takes longer. I walked back a few times to see if it was ready. The cashier is really nice and friendly and she has her system to keep things in an orderly manner. I ordered the Grilled Chicken sandwich ($9.50) and the popcorn chicken ($5.50). All orders are prepped in to-go containers and paper bag. The popcorn chicken was great. Good portion for the price and certainly a worthy snack. Light batter on a good amount of meat. For $9.50, I was disappointed when I opened the grilled chicken sandwich. It's wrapped in paper then tucked into a box. If you look at the picture, I initially didn't see much chicken, just a sloppy sandwich of lettuce and tomato with sauce. Took my first bite and said okayyyyy...the taste and flavor make up for lack of presentation. The sandwich is small but it's a big piece of chicken breast that happened to slide to the other side of the sandwich. After some rearranging, the sandwich was quite enjoyable and the sauce that came with it was quite good. Very tender, juicy chicken with good flavor. Overall it was an enjoyable meal.

Located in the Tangram food court. Combo was a good deal, with fries, and a drink from a limited selection of canned, or bottled water. Chicken sandwich was just ok, chicken flavor was not for me.

Gua Gua Chicken Sandwich Combo A and Rock Chicken

Newly opened in Tangram, Coocoocachoo definitely needs some tweaking to do. We ordered their Combo A with Gua Gua Chicken Sandwich, French fries, and a canned soda; and their Rock Chicken. We were told it would take about 30 minutes, which we didn't really mind since there were only 2 staff and we were intrigued by some of the other food stalls. We came back 30 minutes later, but waited another 20 minutes for our order to be ready. It looked like they were frying one chicken at a time despite having plentiful vats. The sandwich was not bad, but did taste quite oily and the fries were really soggy. I'd be interested in coming back in a few months/year once they're a little bit more established/experienced.

We came during dinner time and ordered the Combo A and chose the CooCoo on Fire as our sandwich option and a Coke for the drink option. The combo also came with fries. We also ordered the Rock CooCoo chicken sandwich along with 4pc wings with Garlic Aioli sauce. The Rock CooCoo is their signature crispy chicken sandwich, which came with lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a sesame bun. The CooCoo on Fire also came with lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a sesame bun and had a tiny hint of spice to it. Both sandwiches were okay but weren't outstanding. The fries were also okay. We wished they were more crispy and had some type of seasoning on them. The wings were crispy and had a tiny hint of garlic to it. We would have liked it more if the garlic flavor was more prominent. Maybe if the wings were covered in garlic sauce instead, they would have had more flavor. Overall, the food was good, but it wasn't mind-blowing.

I'm really not the one of crave fried chicken sandwiches, and certainly not at a Asian fried chicken restaurant. Not to say Asians can't make fried chicken, but it's not exactly the same as American fried chicken.. but they really have upped their game recently... . @coocoocachoo_lic has been a hit for me. 3 of the 3 times I've had it, they were all very good but this one is the best so far, at least for me... . When I first had the fried chicken sandwich, it was really good, maybe it was because they weren't cheap on the mayo?? But the chicken itself was very moist and flavorful.. . And then I had their fish (cod) sandwich, it was just as good. The fish was fried perfectly, not over cooked. So the fish had good texture and retained much of its juiciness. However, I didn't like that it was two small patties vs. one large patty, so it kinda falls apart and shifts around when biting into it.. . But this was takes it though, it's reminiscent to those Taiwanese jian bing. It's wrap is crepe thin like, but it's really the sweet sauce and lettuce that gives it its texture and flavor of that of a jian bing. I dunno, but from the picture, there's also a lot of mayo. Lol... all seriousness, their chicken is very juicy and it's only dark meat. But in the wrap, there are some big chunks and some small chunks as well. I think you get more chicken in the wrap than the burger..... . Check out @coocoocachoo_lic inside @tangramnyc food hall if you haven't... I know, I know, it's not a cheap eats, but trust me, it's really good.

Came to Tangram mall in flushing on a Saturday afternoon. Was looking for something small to eat for lunch before watching the movie. Was walking around in the food court in mall and debating what to get until saw this place. Their burgers are pretty pricey compared to other places: around $9-$12 per burger. They have combos that include any burger, fries and a can of soda for about $15 bucks. I think it would be cheaper than just ordering the burger itself. I think the fries was crispy but portion was smaller than I thought. However, the burger was just ok. First, It's out of shape, when I opened it, it looks like the pictures. The chicken was big, crispy and Juicy but tasted kinda bland/tasteless. Dont think I will order again next time.

This place is inside Tangram foodcourt. The codburger is so good. It's expensive at $10.50, but if you get Combo A which comes with a sandwich/wrap, fries and a drink for around $12 bucks it's a steal. I got truffle fries for $1 more. Food is delicious. The codburger is heavenly. The bread is soft and fluffy. The cod was cooked perfectly. I also like that there wasn't a lot of sauce on top of the sandwich. The truffle fries was also very good. It came with a truffle mayo sauce.

Combo A- Includes a choice of sandwich or wrap, and comes with fries and a drink. $14

Went here last night looking for food, and this combo sounded pretty good, so I gave it a try. I got a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and an orange soda. The sandwich was good and had a bit of heat to it, although the spice didn't last for very long. The fries weren't the best I've had, but they gave plenty with the meal. I ended up finishing the sandwich faster than the fries. Overall, I would go back here if I end up at Tangram mall. It was a good meal that filled me up, and I would get this again.
