Cookout is no stranger to us. It's our go-to spot at 2am when nothing else is open, besides Waffle House and McDonald's, and when those are your choices, Cookout wins, always. To me, Cookout is best for college and high school students because the price is right, even though the quality isn't there. And, you can guarantee one thing - there's nothing healthy on site. However, few can debate the value, there's possibly no other place where you can get this much food (I didn't say it was great) for so cheap and that's why this place excels. I tried this place and was very under-whelmed by the bland taste of the burger. It could have used more seasoning. It was my first time there and I wanted to love it. But I did not. This was a TERRIBLE experience. We decided to stop here as a break after driving two hours and another two to go. There were only three people working and a restaurant full of people. One person had to work the drive thru and inside. The cooks were extremely slow. We waited 20 minutes and still left with no food. Only one order was ready the entire time that we were there. The store felt muggy and dirty but I was starving so I ignored it. But this store definitely made me appreciate a good ole North Carolina Cook-Out. read more

Service was fast, order was accurate. Food was......bland. It was hot and fresh but I would expect a burger with cheddar, onions, and bacon to taste like.....something. This tiny burger had zero flavor. Nothing. I couldn't even taste the meat. Being my first visit to a CookOut I had high hopes. I guess coming from a part of the country that has Braums I'm spoiled. Well, the as always was great. Love the burgers here, for the price of the plate you can't beat it. The issue we had was we came in at 11:15am, they open at 11:00 am and the lobby was dirty and the floor was sticky bu the soda fountain. We were the 4 couple in line to order, so this leads me to believe they didn't clean up at night. Also, I'm am very open to other religions, being a Buddhist myself, I can appreciate other who love the religion they follow, I just don't understand why the have to cram it down everyone's throat. What I mean is, they play Christian music in the lobby all the time, what if people get bothered by it. It does get annoying after a while. I don't sit and make people meditate and not talk gor days at a time like the buhhdist Munks do, I just don't think it's not for everyone and they should play something g everyone can relate to. I lived in NC for years the Cookout was a staple of my normal diet. I know, thats bad. The Anderson location seems to cook a bunch of burgers, let them sit, get dry, and then put them on a bun. The ones in NC always gave me fresh tasting burgers that were juicy and tasteful. The ones here just seem dry and tasteless. Overcooked. Everything except the burgers is great. IF they would stop overcooking the burgers, I would give them 5 Stars. read more

Went to Cook Out for the first time today, just really good food at really low prices. The portions aren't huge, but its perfect for a lunch or late night snack. I had the barbecue sandwich, chili, and onion rings, my wife had the burger, fries and onion rings. The onion rings were fine, but I really liked the barbecue and chili. There was a pretty large line at about 2 pm, but it moved quickly. Its basically like a McDonalds in which you order the food at the counter, then you grab it when its ready. It could have been cleaner, but considering the rush, it wasn't too bad. I could see this becoming a regular place, besides you can barely get lunch for 2 at home for $12.00. read more

Waited a while for the food, they messed my order up. When my fiancé was trying to let them know to fix it he waited about 20 minutes in line being ignored before a manager even tried to talk to him. The girl that took my order was EXTREMELY rude and I also got cheese on my burger (which I realized upon getting home and seeing my burger and check) which I was charged extra for, and then could not eat because I'm allergic to dairy and never asked for cheese. Normally I would not be angry because I work in the service industry but the girl who was working was rude and apparently was only looking to charge her patrons extra money despite what they actually wanted. I hope cookout enjoys that extra 40 cents because I would have gladly paid that 40 cents for a burger I could have actually eaten. read more

Good food, great prices, fast service and two thumbs up for the milkshakes! You can get a combo with up to 3 meats and a drink for 5 bucks - you can't beat that! I recommend the peanut butter fudge milkshake!! read more
