So, I like to try regional fast-food places when I am traveling and despite being in the Carolinas several times, I had never tried Cook Out. We walked in and no one was at the counter, someone yelled and finally a lady slowly and I mean Zootopian Sloth slowly made her way to take our order in the least give a shit way possible. I ordered a Cheddar burger with bacon and grilled onions, fries and a banana pudding shake. The burger was delicious with a chargrilled flavor, and adding grilled onions to a fast-food burger is a great touch. The fries were just ok. The banana pudding shake was delicious and thicker than Kim Kardashian's booty. The inside of the place was absolutely disgusting. The whole place was dirty, the floors were greasy and the place just looked old. The service was shit but the food was good. I'd eat at a Cook Out again but I doubt it would be this one. read more

Hello there! My family and I were just passing through when my lovely blessings in the back seat demanded cook out. So we stopped in for a quick bite to eat and potty break. As a southern mama, I am appalled at the state of the bathroom (see the pictures of the atrocious-ness in the attached photos )! Why on earth is there glass cleaner in the stall?!? My little Susie Mae could've ingested it and been severely harmed. Additionally I think I need a shower after being within 6 inches of that wad of toilet paper. However, the food was delicious! Little Tommy ate everything. And left no crumbs! He even took a bite of the styrofoam box we did have to get that surgically removed but it's ok! We love cookout. The service was good. Cook Out is a little bit of a different experience for me! We don't have any fast food chains quite like it in Texas. I would recommend the cheese curds, the regular burger and the beef quesadilla. The only negative thing I have to say is that this particular location wasn't as clean as the other location I visited. It may have just been an off day! The service was fast! read more

I love Cook Out. When we're driving through Georgia and the Carolinas, I'll pick Cook Out over a more national fast food restaurant. The food generally isn't anything special. It's not bad for fast food. But it's very reasonably priced, and you get what you pay for. The main highlight is the milkshakes. The fresh watermelon milkshakes in the summer are excellent. The last time I visited this location I was very disappointed by my charcoaled burger but they restored my confidence in their ability to serve a delicious meal! The slaw Dog was loaded With chili, onions and slaw. Husband says it was delicious. The sweet tea is not too sweet(which I like). They will add Whatever you want to the burger. The menu has many choices; hotdogs, hush puppies, hamburgers, quesadillas, blts, and ice cream floats. We will be back for ice cream too. Lots of great and unsuspecting flavors. My boyfriend went into the lobby past closing to refill his drink, manager immediately started cussing at him, telling him to "Get the F*ck out my lobby" then proceeded to grab the drink out of his hand and throw it onto the ground. Worst Cookout location I have EVER been to. My entire pregnancy all I crave is an Oreo MINT MILKSHAKE and it is regular Oreo EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I have had to resort to getting a cup of mint at the drive thru window because their incompetent employees cannot tell the difference between a green shake and a white one. Every other location I visit, my shakes are VERY green. Tonight I even drove all the way back to get it fixed because my husband apparently cannot double check that they actually made it correctly. Instead of waiting in the drive thru, I walked up to their new order window they installed for COVID, and wanted it fixed. She grabbed the shake from my hand, went back to the kitchen and I swear she added a DROP of mint to the top, brought it back and closed and locked the window in my face before I could even check it. One of our favorite places! Always excellent service and very friendly staff! I was so impressed with the checkout employee I thought he was the manager! Food is always fresh and tasty! My girlfriend always gets the chili dog and tells me it's the best around!!! I get the quarter pound burger and it is always fresh and yummy!!! Love the fries too!! First off let me let you know that I experienced watching a worker sweep the floor as well as the table and bench thin straight back to the cash register no she did not wipe the table down with sanitizer. So we were out late and I was hungry it was around 10:30 at night got to the drive-thru order speaker asked if they use the same oil for chicken strips as fries she didn't seem to understand what I was asking when she found somebody to answer they said sometimes they do which is confusing either it's policy to keep it separate or to just cook it all in one oil anyway my son's a vegetarian so there went him eating so I ordered me a sandwich and two sweet teas got to the window I wasn't giving a bag just the container of food one straw so I pulled up needed to go in and get another straw might as well just wash my hands enter the bathroom which opens my eyes to this place is nasty the stalls were filthy honestly I didn't open them just saw what I did when I walked through the door the soap dispensers hadn't been filled in all over the counter hadn't clearly been cleaned up anytime recently somehow both ice trays were completely filled for the drink dispenser random trash everywhere tables were filthy did not come out very well in a couple of the pictures but you could visually see that they were dirty went to the car question whether I should go in and take pictures decided that would probably be a good thing get back to the car the manager must have seen me taking photos she sends a cashier to clean the dining space me and my son sat there in shock as we watch this lady take the broom and sweep the floor around the table then take that broom and sweep what was on the table in the bench to the floor and sweep that and put it into the little dust pan shocking talk about bacterial I've read some of the reviews on Google the one Stars are pretty much pretty similar asking disgusting place unwillingness to do their job for customer service I would be very careful going in and eating at this place I won't be back read more

I give two stars for the amazing food however a low rating for the service by our cashier tonight. Per tradition, my ministry group comes to this cookout every Sunday night to eat and hangout. We typically have a very fun time and receive amazing customer service, however, the service we received tonight was less than admirable. We were served by a cashier by the name of Leah who, as nice as we tried to be per our usual visits, seemed very frustrated and slowly became a little more rude over time. There was one order that had been placed previously to our group arriving who had left and the way our cashier handled the situation reflected poorly in how we were treated through her tone of voice and way she addressed us while placing orders. In addition, there was an incident when she closed the order window in the face of one of the girls as she was attempting to ask for a napkin and continued to place a closed sign on the window. As someone who has previously worked in customer service, I understand the frustrations, however it does not excuse one's behavior when addressing other people. As we have been coming to this Cookout nearly every Sunday throughout this school year and every Tuesday nights for over a year pre-COVID, we have never received such service or seen a sign like this before. We will, of course, continue to come to cookout, nonetheless, but hope to continue to receive the service we have previously received over the long standing tradition. read more

Let me tell you something about this cook out, I will never be coming back. I was basically called a liar when I took my chicken wrap back after I had ordered it without lettuce, they took it back and they pulled the lettuce off and gave me the same wrap back. It couldn't have been a new wrap because it tasted like lettuce. If they made a new wrap the wrapped it in the same aluminum foil. I took it back up there and the cashier got smart with me. Simply put it's a lower cost version of Five Guys with some drop in the quality of food, some drop in size of orders, and some decline in the brightness of the place. All togehter though, it's better food than any chain burger joint at a very reasonable price. They have some "pre-designed" burgers - "Cook Out Style" for example is Chilli Slaw Mustard and Onion... Don't get me wrong, I love myself some Cook Out. You get a lot of food for cheap. But this particular location missed the mark in terms of service and cleanliness. We were excited to find an indoor Cook Out as a meal break during a long drive, but found the inside of it to be kinda gross. All of the tables seemed like they had been wiped down with stickiness. And then for service, me and my husband were the first in our group to order our food, but we didn't get ours until after everyone else AND several other people later. It was way past the amount of time it should take to get fast food. There wasn't anything crazy wrong with the food, but I have definitely had better at other Cook Outs. I love cookout but this visit was trash. I'm pregnant and was craving cookout well after trying the fries first, they tasted like they had been sitting for hours. Was like I was eating cardboard. If the Cook Out in Greenville S.C is packed, it's because it is so darn good and they keep the line moving steadily. I have a family of 6, this is a fast food option for us b/c they're super affordable and I guarantee you will find nothing better for the price, (Greenville Cookouts I give 5 star rating). Their food has a nice homey and fresh taste. Some portions are small like they come straight from your own kitchen. Keep that in mind. The milk shake menu , I never tire of the milkshake menu!! All these positive remarks are only for Cook Outs located in Greenville S.C. I moved to Anderson where it's flat out poorly prepared food. My food was stringy and, half cooked, and they can have it bc I sure don't like it. No pride in cooking or producing meals with he 0 quality or care. Went to this cookout January 2nd 2021 and ordered 3 bacon ranch wraps. After eating only 1.5 of them, I had developed horrifying symptoms of food poisoning. Stomach pains, sweating, chills, fatigue, lightheadedness, vomiting and diarrhea. One of the worst nights of my entire life. We saw a Cook Out sign off I-85 South and veered off to exit. Afterwards we realized that it wasn't really just off the Interstate. It was more like three miles. Lines were suspiciously really long. I think they lured a lot of travelers from that sign. Idiots. Like us. The service? Better prepare for what will feel like an ALL DAY cook out. Order took twenty minutes and when I finally got it, one of our ordered meals was not included. I had to turn around and reorder again. Another 15 minutes to wait. Burgers were overcooked, and fries and onion rings were sad and wilted. The soda fountain machines either didn't have CO2 or syrup. Bad. Bad. Bad. So bad, it was comical. This Cook Out was definitely lacking compared to others I've been to in North Carolina. The restaurant was overall not clean and very sticky feeling. A lot of the tables and chairs felt sticky, and the bathrooms weren't clean too. The service was also extremely slow. We waited about 8-10 minutes for our food. I had a cookout style burger which tasted mediocre. I've definitely had fresher and better tasting ones from other Cook Outs. I also had a corn dog, which came out freshly fried and tasted great. My chicken wrap, on the other hand, was not that great. The chicken was underwhelming and dry, didn't taste freshly prepared. Another weird thing was that you had to go to the counter to ask for ketchup and sauce, instead of them putting it out where the drinks were.
