Decided to try cook out for the second day in a row just a different location here in Augusta. Today I had a regular burger out west style. Just as delicious as yesterday, fresh ingredients and a burger that actually tasted like a burger! I can really say there burgers are by far the best fast food burger I've ever had and better than 5 guys or Bobbys burgers and a better value. Fries are just as good as yesterday except I tried the Cajun seasoning on them and I was not disappointed. If I had any complaints it would be that the food was to hot. I'm just used to going to a fast food place and having hot food. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I'm just warning you.....it's hot. read more

I have tried the food when I was younger and it was always great but idk if they fell off, I didn't try the food just a milkshake. I live in Florida and there are no cook outs, when ever I come to Georgia I specifically come to this cook out. It's right next to my grandparents and a grew up here. My grandpa would always get us a milkshake and burger. I had dinner already and I'm leaving back to Florida tomorrow so I asked my husband to stop for milkshakes. I got a Carmel milkshake, but it was stacked on top of a second cup, i thought it was an accident but no. Instead I lift up the first cup that had no bottom so they stuck it in another cup, and if you know cook out then you know their milkshakes are THICK like ice cream. I always have to use a spoon, and I was just finding chunk after chunk of styrofoam, I just kept pulling more and more out my mouth, had a few scared because there were some small pieces. So let me start off by saying I haven't had Cook out in awhile and was starving and wanted something quick! Moving right along. I went in and was greeted by the man who took my order. I got the BBQ grilled chicken sandwich which was suppose to come with TWO SIDES! Yall they placed the hell out of me giving me 8 cheese bites and the rest fries. You talking about PISSED! The woman at the window was nice , but the lady taking orders was rude . Go to check on the trays when she brings the food out and most of the order was wrong and the employees sticking their heads out the window ready to say something is something else . This establishment has a menu that my son in law claims was designed by a teen age boy! When ordering a "tray" you pick your main item, say a cheeseburger, then select two sides. Sides include the traditional things like fries and onion rings but also include things like quesadillas, hush puppies, and chicken wraps. Yesterday my 9yo grandson's tray was a cheeseburger with sides of a corn dog and hush puppies. The tray also included a drink and he upgraded to an Oreo milkshake. The shakes her are very good, especially the eggnog (December only) and the watermelon (July only). This is fast food but it's always dependable and quick. read more

I just tried to stop talking to respect her doing her job at the window where she hollers at me "I'm paying attention you can keep talking". Speaker seems to be in need of repair, peach milkshake was vanilla ice cream with peach pieces thrown in....chocolate shake was not mixed--same vanilla ice cream, 1/4 pounder wasn't a quarter pounder, and blt was on hamburger bun. . I home here often and the food is okay but whenever I ask for a Milkshake with extra toppings there's barely any in there but I still get charged for it. I am new to Augusta and wanted to try Cook Out. I have been there 3 times and each time has been great. Love the chicken tenders . And cheese curds are the best. Only problem---- getting out of parking lot. I live to the left and have to go right and turn around. Other than that I love this place. read more

Have gone through the drive thru a few times and as far as late night dining choices go in Augusta it's a great place to grab a burger. The fried side are a greasy at times but generally tasty, onion rings and okra are good. Would I dine in ? Don't know never done that. I do know that the clientele late at night is uncouth and rowdy. The most popular is the Cook out tray for $5.00 to get a choice a sandwich, 2 sides and a drink.The okra is my best side but you can get fries ,chicken nuggets also.Service is pretty good except on late nights, which they are open until 4 am on weekends at this location but overall the food is good and hot fries and friendly people. The drive thru girl said "we don't have tater tots FOOL". I called the manager and he said "Yes, I heard her say that, I'm sorry, I'm sending her home". The very next day I went back and spoke with a man and told him I was the "FOOL" from last night. He said "I'm the general manager and she told me she said "we don't have tater tots FOOD". What... That doesn't even make sense. And what about the fact that the manager on duty told me he heard her. He even sent her home and set up a meeting with the general manager so yes he did hear her. I know he heard her because he repeated what I said which was " WHAT DID YOU CALL ME". I disagree with the person who called Cookout a hole in the wall business. I have always found it clean and friendly. Their menu is varied and surprisingly good for a fast food establishment. Hamburgers are quite good--fresh and tasty. Fried onion, okra and fries are good. BBQ burgers are a favorite of a friend of mine. I have only been, on several occasions, on Sunday evenings and I did not find it filled with teens "cussing up a storm" as mentioned in another review. For 2 burgers (one regular and one huge) and 2 regular fries (no drinks) will run you $10.50. This place serves a home style burger. The fries were good. The drive thru menu is confusing to me. Took me a minute to figure out where everything was. The wait is also a bit on the long side. When I looked at my food I was really disappointed in the burger. The burger looked like someone had just crushed the burger into a ball and wrapped foil around it. Nothing like eating a balled up burger.... The meat was over cooked and my burger did not come with everything that it was supposed to. So I normally pick up for lunch since it's right across from my work and I only have 30minutes. Usually my order is always correct and has plenty of food on it. I always get a cookout tray with 2 sides. Well today was the second time that I've gotten 3 onion rings and 4 pieces of okra... And to top it off, I ordered hush puppies and okra as a side. This is a new cookout that recently opened and I thought I would try it out. Having just been to the Belair one the night before, thought it would be a good comparison. I ordered exactly the same tray items. I told the lady I wanted the burger all the way as I had at the other one the night before. When i got to the window she tried to charge me 6.75 when the same items cost me 5.50 at the Belair cookout. When I questioned it they were unsure so I pulled out my receipt from the night before. They then told me all the way there was with chilli and coleslaw and you have to pay extra for those. Having eaten at numerous cook outs before i have never had those items on a burger when asked for it all the way. I don't know why this place gets so many great reviews. There is one review that compares Cookout to Five Guys. Really? Have you no taste buds? If your hamburger bun is 4 inches across, your burger should not be 3. A properly cooked burger is juicy. An overcooked burger is dry and tastless. Guess which one I got. The batter on the onion rings is bland and in need of salt. Service is good and fast. I think the fast part is a major contributer to the burgers being overcooked. Grabbed a quick bite to eat for dinner. You can't go wrong with the 5$ trays. A main thing 2 sides and a drink! Our server was Bryce and he was so friendly and kind. I had the chicken strips which were delicious and hush puppies also so freaking delicious with coleslaw ( which could have been better but was still delicious) . I went to Cook Out for the first time today. I've been a long time fan of Five Guys and gourmet burger restaurants like Grindhouse Killer and Farmburger in Atlanta. I must say that the burger at Cook Out is on par with those premium burger restaurants. I tried the cajun seasoned fries and onion rings and found that the fries were mediocre. I would recommend onion rings or other sides in lieu of fries here. It's also important to note that this location only takes Mastercard and Visa not American Express and Discover. read more
