Well I have really tried to not have to leave a review but I have to this time. I will start by saying I'm from North Carolina and I'm very aware what a North Carolina barbecue sandwich should look and taste like. Cookout is one of my favorite spots and support them all over but this location has been on a constant decline. When we had arrived at Cook Out, they were not at all busy. We had order two cook out trays, a regular fry and a caramel milkshake. The milk was just vanilla ice cream, no caramel added to it. The fries where stale and had no seasoning. The chili on top of the fries didn't have any seasoning. Everything was just bland besides the fountain drink. Worst experience ever. Decided to finally try this place out. Lots of choices on the menu, including hamburgers, hotdogs, corndogs, and quesadias. And of course the 40 different flavors of milkshakes. My girlfriend and I each went with a hamburger, two sides and a drink for $4.99. The fries and onion rings were nice and crispy. The chili was a little underwhelming. In addition to the combo, I ordered a Mexican Hotdog. It was really good. For the price you can't go wrong with place. But be prepared, this isn't a healthy place to eat at. Horrible, loud, screechy speaker at the drive-through, making it hard to tell what I actually ordered. I had to have them repeat several questions, which just subjected me to more horrible, loud, screechy torture. This place is new. There's no excuse for not having a working intercom. The burger was not real great. Mushy, mystery meat kind of thing going on. I've been to Cook-Out in South Carolina and that burger wasn't like this. That one was pretty good. Five small onion rings; one really small. They are tasty, though. Slaw was uninteresting. So, not much luck with the sides. either. Price is fair for the 'Tray' but I'd rather pay a couple a bucks more and go to the Wendy's down the road for a better burger. Of you've ever been to GA Southern or anywhere in the Carolinas you've likely eaten at a Cook Out. The burgers are good. Just off the grill flavor for just out of the freezer prices. Their specials called the Cook Out Tray is $4.99! That is with 2 sides that vary from chicken nuggets to quesidillas, I'm serious and a drink. Shakes are great too. College kids heaven. Let's start off with the bad. It's a 50/50 chance weather your order will be right coming through the drive thru. I order the same thing every time and the ticket is correct so obviously the kitchen is being lazy and just serving whatever they want. Now for the good things it's open till at least 3am every day plus it's cheap. Where else can you get a full meal with a drink for under $6 each. Unless you come when its packed with kids you'll get in and out pretty quick If you go through the drive thru or walkup make sure to check your food order before you leave or you may be coming back to get it fixed. Worst customer service. I stopped here around 12 Am on a Saturday night. I went through the drive thru and the employees were extremely rude. When I placed my order at the speaker, the girl got my order wrong so I immediately tried to tell her so it would be right. She ignored me and I had to wait until she asked what my order was again. I told her it was still me and asked if she got that I wanted a cookout tray not just the burger. She proceeded to say with a major attitude "well I asked you if it was right and you said yes". No she didn't ask if it was right. She asked if I wanted anything else. Then when I got to the window she looked around the boy taking the money and rolled her eyes at me. Unprofessional and rude. As I understand it, this is a chain restaurant. I try to avoid chains whenever I can, but this place wasn't so bad. We were looking for somewhere quick after an airport pick-up, and it was open and cheap and fast. The food was all small, but they pack a lot into the baskets. I had a cajun chicken sandwich with onion rings and a bacon wrap as my "sides," and my wife had the burger with cheddar rounds (has browns with cheese) and the corn dog for her "sides." I have to use scare quotes because the bacon wrap and corn dog aren't normally considered sides, but that's where they were put on the Cook Out menu! Everything came out tasting good. We were trying to figure out if they actually grilled things or if they just had good liquid smoke skills, but either way everything was tasty. For fast food, this was a good find. read more

the absolute worst cookout ever maybe worst fast food chain. Went here literally like 10 and ordered 2 cookout trays both having the same thing. the lady rings up only one meal while still giving us 2 drinks? but no second meal even on the receipt. i look in the bag but already drove off from the drive thru line so now i have to pull into the parking and go inside. i tell the checkout guy she only rang up one meal but gave us two drinks so i'm confused why the other meal wasn't included. the guy just starts putting the order in without even saying sorry or nun and then makes me pay for the new meal. real customer service would be, here's a free meal i'm sorry about that inconvenience of our mistakes. but then again, its cookout. so i get home and i open the new meal, only one quesadilla when its supposed to come with two.... very disappointed, not even with just this visit but other times i've gone it's literally always something. not once out of the 50 times i've gone has everything been great. it's always someone at the window with an attitude, i'm missing my food, my food will be cold or simply ass so just very disappointed but i keep going back for the convenience so that's my fault. just do better. read more

My son was adamant that I " Had to check out cook-Out, the food is SOO good". So I decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was nice and very clean (nothing worse than a dirty condiments/soda station). I told the young lady at the register that this was my first time at Cook-Out and asked her what she recommended. She was very friendly and helpful, in fact all of the employees I encountered were friendly. Most of them looked to be college age. When my food was ready, one of the employees brought it out to me, and acted like bringing my food to me was the best thing she'd done all day! I was surprised and pleased at how nice and she was. Now on to the food. You get a LOT of food for the money. Was it fine dining? No. But I don't think it's meant to be. I ordered two bacon cheeseburgers, onion rings, fries, quesadilla and cole slaw. You get two sides with your burger and a drink or milkshake. My son was right, everything I had was pretty good. I'll definitely come back again, and next time I'll order the pulled pork. This place should be a hit considering the prices and how close it is to Kennesaw State. I highly recommend Cook-Out! read more

Cook out was one of our favorite places to eat but tonight the service was awful. As a consultant in the service industry serving optometric practices, I was appalled at the treatment we received at this establishment. We ordered 2 chili hot dogs, fries, a corn dog. Simple order. We waited 20 minutes and still we didn't receive our food. The cooks were filling the orders at the drive thru and orders placed after ours. Incorrectly as well as one of the patrons had to ask for them to correct her order. We had to wait for someone to come to the front so we could ask where our meal was. We waited and waited. She finally came to the front an we asked about our order and she disappeared to the back. When she came back we asked for the manager. The guy who comes out didn't even LOOK like a manager. He had on a zip up fleece and some jeans with a beanie on!! ??? THIS is the manager at Cookout?! Really?! He informs us they are short staffed so we ask him to comp us the order because at this point we are going on 30 minutes and we don't have our food yet. He agrees to refund our money and as we are walking to our table with the food he tells us to return the food. And when we did the cashier laughs. Im not sure why that was necessary. We returned the food and asked for his name which is Daniel. He's a tall light skinned dude. Totally unprofessional. I should have known by his appearance but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. We told him his treatment of customers was terrible and the least he could have done was to comp the order since waiting for 30 minutes for a couple of chili dogs and a burger wasn't the expected wait in a fast food joint. This guy has the gall to say we were trying to get free food. We are regular PAYING customers. We don't need to try to scam for free food brah. I hope you are reading this and you consider finding another line of work. Or possibly the general manager of the Cookout doesn't care. They just need warm bodies in place to make sure the place doesn't burn down. Hence the need for a warm body like Daniel. Never going to return to that place. Love their food and value, but their customer service stinks. We just came through the drive thru, and after rushing us at the mic, we pull up to the window and they ask US what our order was. Followed by some confusion. Followed by the chick rattling off a string of food items I could only assume was our order, and then saying, "is there anything else on your order?" Like, hellloooooo, why do we have to help you with our order? Once they got everything pulled together (I hope), we heard not one more word from them. We requested sauce and there wasn't as much as a "yes," "yeah," "sure," or a head nod. Same with when our food was passed out. No "thank you," "thanks," "bye," "got outta here," nothing. My kids LOVE this place. My oldest orders a large burger and two chicken wraps plus a milkshake then eats my fries! My youngest goes for the burger/corn dog/fries combo. The options are crazy. This is a cheap, quirky southern chain where you can get a cheerwine float! Fresh banana, vanilla wafer milkshake with extra vanilla wafers anyone? This is a fun find that isn't healthy but is a great splurge. Did I say cheap? The staff is young and nice. It is very popular, don't let the line fool you. It is worth the wait and goes quickly. Bad experience w/ Cook Out: Mon Nov. 28th my wife and I had a horrible experience at Cook Out (Barrett Parkway/ Kennesaw). It took more almost 2hrs for us to get food for our family of 5. The line was ridiculously long due to staff goofing around in the establishment. (Kids wanted it, and we were locked in by the time we thought to leave). Staff members rushed the order then took forever to move the drive thru in a timely manner. To place our order, our wait time was 45 mins to place the order (Monday night) an additional wait of 15 to drive to the window from the menu board. They took our payment promptly, but it took about another 35mins wait outside the drivethru window to get our food. No one checked in with us to let us know what was going on or anything-- At that point, my wife and I couldn't understand why we were having to wait SO long for 5 trays that normal only takes 10 mins tops under normal circumstances. During the 30 min wait at the window, my wife tried to speak to an employee that was at the window inside. The employee ignored us and told another employee to speak to us. The other employee shook her head no and walked away. Meanwhile, all employees in the establishment was joking around, goofing off, cheering and playing around. Finally 10 mins later after being ignored, an employee came to the drive thru window and asked us what was wrong. My wife asked how much longer would the wait be. Instead of the employee answering the question with a time frame we were given outlandish excuses (the ticket orders have been messed up since 10am and they were hoping that Whataburger would have taken all there business) that made no sense on why the wait was SO long. Mind-- it was 10PM by now. We arrived around 815PM. If there was a problem with the tickets system how did you take my payment and know what was in my order?? After being given those excuses, we still had to wait an additional 20 mins for our food. Once we were given our food, my wife and I took the time to check it which took maybe an additional 5 mins. We have been given the wrong burger twice before and didn't realize it until we were home. We weren't gonna go back and deal with any additional wait time and we weren't about to pull off with anything other than what we ordered, waited and paid for. So while checking our food another employee who didn't hand us our food came to the window, asking us if we were ok. I guess because we didn't pull off right away. We were being rushed off., but it wasn't gonna work. My wife and I just told them we are checking our food because we aren't coming back. We were asked several times by different employees (baxk to back in less than a minute). We just said again and again that we were checking the food. It literally didnt take much time to check between two ppl. It would have taken less time if they didnt keep distracting us by giving us the 3rd degree. I one employee decided she wanted to get mouthy after we told her we were checking the food, saying "she was just asking" in a rude way. So unprofessional. She started literally hanging out the window watching us look over our food. Now mind you, we couldn't get any kind of attention or service prior. I really feel like the employees were taunting us and trying to get us to react. That was frustrating, especially since we weren't rude in anyway. After checking our food and stating that everything was good, and pulling off, the employee standing behind the employee in the window yelled out after our car "have a nice night" in a sarcastic way and then ALL the employees in the establishment laughed. We were actually shocked to get this kind of treatment and "service". It was way out of line due to the fact that my wife and I were never rude to any of the employees. All we wanted to know ultimately was how much longer was it gonna be to wait for our food but instead we were treated with rude behavior and disrespect. And this is a problem for me due to the fact that I'm a paying customer that comes there multiple times in a month and spends a lot of money at this establishment. The whole thing was so outlandish. They admitted that they wanted customers to go to a competing store. smh. Suffice to say... we will be taking our business elsewhere just as suggested. read more

This place sucks... Which is how I'm going to begin my review. I have dined with them twice in the past two weeks after midnight. Each time, they've gotten a major portion of my order wrong. The first time I ordered a double cheeseburger and I got a cheeseburger which I only noticed after I was driving off. The second time, I ordered a Coke, and I got a dr Pepper or a Mr. Pibb or something. Hearing the words come out of my mouth, it sounds trivial...except that I don't have this problem any place else on the planet and certainly not with this level of devotion to consistency. I also noticed that the intercom system thing in their drive-through menu does not work as well as you or I would expect it so that it's hard to hear.
