Haven't felt compelled to write a review in a long time. Very disappointed in their food- Ordered their pork chop meal with hush puppies and fries. Their pork chop was the quality of canned tuna that was dry, tasteless and disappointing. The fries and hush puppies were passable. Ordered a blueberry milk shake and I drank two sips and threw it out. I could tell it has been frozen for at least a day- everything was crystallized and I could just taste all the sugar and milk separated even when I was stirring it. Ordered a hotdog which was the only decent thing. This place is affordable but that is about it. Usually a chain does something right so maybe their burgers are good. read more

Food is good and the prices are cheap. You can get a lot of food for a little bit of money. Is it the best out there, no, but it is still good. Where else can you get a double cheese burger, fries, and a quesadilla for $5.00. Some people had complained about some of the booths being too small. Fortunately they have corrected that. This was a great experience. This was only our second time visiting this chain. The first was in Atlanta. The young man at the front counter was very friendly and welcoming. He was willing to answer any questions we had and was pleasant to deal with. Food was tasty and at a great price. Lots of choices on the menu. The cheeseburgers are fantastic, onion rings and slaw were very good, prices super low. I was happily surprised. I would give they place FIVE stars if they didn't put every single item in styrofoam! Ugh. Who uses that in this day and age? Many states have outlawed it. I would be happy to pay a bit more to have my meal served on bio-degradable cardboard trays. Not only do they only use styrofoam, they use way too much of it. Do you really need a clam shell styrofoam box with a lid on it when you are eating INSIDE the restaurant? How about a metal tray with parchment paper on it and paper trays for the side dishes? Hard to respect a place that cares so little for the planet. The prices are lower than most any fast food place in the area, so a small bump in cost wouldn't faze anyone. Also - what's with the tiny booths? Some of the booths seemed to be sized for small children, but were not labeled as such. Did no one measure them? There are not many size zero people in South Carolina. Decor - I know it's basically fast food, but it you're going to put art and decor items on the walls, do it right. Paintings should be at eye level (or below) - why is that boat painting way up high above your head, and what's with the weird cross made out of what looks to be fake plastic antlers? The food here is great! The menu isn't overly convoluted (but still a good selection) and the service was pretty fast. We had the cheeseburger plate with onion rings and hush puppies. There were about 4 smallish rings and about 5-6 hush puppies. The burger was perfectly done but had a little extra mustard on it than a normal burger. I personally cannot wait to go again! read more

Fascinating place. Food quality is pretty good considering the price - portion sizes aren't huge but the concept is you get an entrée and two sides, but the sides could be a corn dog, nuggets, quesadilla, onion rings, fries, etc. They seem to have a huge selection of milkshakes for those so inclined. I was slightly surprised with the Christian radio they were playing since we're not the most religious bunch, but it wasn't overly obvious or "down your throat" so why not. read more

Was excited to see this location open up in Mt Pleasant and it did not disappoint! We ordered to go ( you can also dine in) a cheese burger, the BBQ plate which came with slaw, hush puppies, and fries, 2 cheese quesadillas, and onion rings. I don't know how they do it, but even after a 10 min. drive home, everything was still pipping hot! My cheeseburger was one of the best I've had and looked and tasted like a home cooked burger. Went here yesterday to get some quick food. But it was not quick. The girl gave us attitude when we had more than two orders. Took 10 minutes just to repeat what we got. Then we pulled up and they got one of the orders wrong, when we tried to correct it she replied "we already made it." And refused to fix the order, even tho it wasn't what we asked for. Then I handed her $20 (my food was $13) and she didn't give me any change. She was obviously miserable with her job and very disrespectful. Also the chicken quesadilla had literally nothing in it. I have been hearing amazing things about Cook Out. I finally caved and went. My fiance' and I each ordered the chopped pork bbq sandwiches. I was not expecting much from a fast food place. The price was great ($3 a sandwich). The pork was DELICIOUS!!!!!! simmered in texas pete for just the right amount of heat, but not too over powering. So great!!!! The slaw on the sandwiches was great! i have never been a fan of sandwiches with cole slaw on them but these sandwiches were AMAZING!!!!!!! They did not even need any extra sauce! Great customer service that was truly appreciated. The Big Double is my go-to(I just gotta remember to add the cheese!) and the shakes seem to have a cult following. Avoid at all cost. This place was good for the first month, then it went downhill quickly. I've been here many times and keep giving them another go. Save your money. Burgers are always burned and dry. Barely received any hush puppies and I've had better chicken tenders from the frozen section. Worst burger I've ever had. Upon arrival to this location we waited at the order spot for over 5 minuets before someone actually spoke to us. The girl taking our order was very rude and clearly distracted since she couldn't properly take our order as we gave it to her, we repeated ourselves 4/5 times & after sitting there for another 10 minuets trying to make our order we were given much attitude. As we arrived at the window the lady was very rude and nasty we got our food and she gave us the wrong drink so as we traded drinks off the actual drink we ordered was completely dripping and drenched when we asked for napkins once again a nasty attitude. Most of the employees are very young high school students, who are not interested in customer service. They have been rude every single time i go through the drive-thru. Considering the fact that this is 'fast food' it's GREAT fast food!!! You can catch the smoky aroma as you drive in. This place has charred burgers down to a science. They're that GOOD! The huge menu of shake varieties are really something. The menu items aren't huge by any stretch of the imagination BUT they pack so much flavor that makes the competitors pale in comparison. If you're on the fence about these guys, get off the fence already and give them a chance... You certainly won't regret it. read more

This is a relatively new restaurant and the food is very good. I ordered a cheeseburger tray, which came with 2 sides and a drink for $4.99. The food was just mediocre. When I got there, the music was blaring. When asked, they turned it down but not enough. A worker was nice enough to ask if that was better. (She asked me to repeat what I said because she couldn't hear me over the music.) She explained that the owner also owned the Christian radio station that was playing. I told her I found that offensive and my Jewish relatives on their way there would also find it offensive. After my relatives walked in, the music suddenly got EXTREMELY loud with Jesus Saves for about 10 seconds. Not a coincidence or very Christian.
