Good food and open late. While cruising around looking for more than a taco or burger I found this place. Great shake hamburger combos!!

Back in July, I was staying in a hotel in the Commerce Road area off I-95. I was exhausted from sitting out in the heat for three hours for a beer release, so my plan was to order delivery. That is, until I arrived at the hotel and realized that not a single place that I could find would actually deliver to that section of Richmond. Oops. Cook Out to the rescue! Cook Out is a chain I hold in high regard in my mind. It's partially a dose of nostalgia when I think of college, but it's also just a great fast food chain! I love their milkshakes, especially the Oreo one (which I purchased here), and their bacon cheese hot dogs are incredible in comparison with other fast food establishment's dogs. I would pass on their chicken wraps though -- there's just not much to them. It didn't take long to receive my order, and the cashier was sweet. The parking lot was easy to navigate, and I didn't have issues getting back on the road. It wasn't around the corner from my hotel, but it was close enough and I'm willing to go a little out of my way for some quality, snappy comfort food.

    Uncut jalapeño on my burger.

The food was prepared quickly, which is really why I came, so I'll give credit for speed. The food preparation was lazily done. I asked for jalapeños on my burger and receive one large pepper tucked under the bun

Cookout style burger (chili, onion, mustard, and slaw with onion rings and a corn dog as sides.

It's a coin toss, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. But today I got lucky, whoever made milkshakes today did a good job

Parking in the area is a little difficult and Sunday at lunch is no different. We were able to find street parking a few blocks down and were happy to enjoy the Spring weather. Eazzy Burger is a bit off of W Leigh St but adjacent to Ardent Craft Ales. The shared outdoor patio was casual with a contemporary flare and filled with Richmond 20-somethings. We easily found a table, put our things down, and headed in to Eazzy Burger to place our orders. The first thing I noticed is how creative the menu is! Craft burgers with a variety of options... everyone will find something they like. You place you order at the counter and then wait at your table until they call your name so be prepared! It took about 20 minutes (10 minutes less than what they told us!) for our 5 top to get our orders. The burgers were massive and the fries were cooked to perfection. An order of fries was missed but when I mentioned it to the expeditor at the counter, he was quick to remedy the situation. All in all, a 5 star experience!

I tried the chile relleno burger, my coworker got the eazzy burger, and we split the southern clucker. We bothe enjoyed our hamburgers. The southern clucker was really good but I kind of wish the fried chicken thigh was crunchy, the breading to the chicken was soaked with an amazing sweet honey sauce though so I can't complain too much. The girl taking our order was really nice and the restaurant itself was clean and looks great inside. Definitely will be back here to try some other menu items.

Our entrees were equally as tasty. I ordered the salmon and it was done well! My only personal preference would be to swap the green beans for the collards next time--the green beans just weren't cooked quite the way I prefer. That said, everything else was really enjoyable. There is a huge empty booth right in the front across from the hostess stand, no one was sitting there, we asked if we could sit there for just a moment to cool off in the AC- we were rudely told no we had to wait outside. The next family in line included 2 elderly women and a baby all dressed gorgeous, they also were told they had to wait outside in 105 weather. After about 20 minutes of waiting, (I was just going to tell them to forget it) they said our table was ready. Well, instead of inside with AC as we requested we were seated in a gazebo porch area that they claimed had AC. By this time we were so desperate for cool, we didn't argue that we had requested INSIDE not whatever this room was. It ended up being like sitting in a tuna can. So uncomfortable, my husband and bro in law just went and sat in the car with the AC blasting. Waitress was sporadic to put it nicely. Meanwhile, back inside the booth across from the hostess stand was still empty. Food was fine. But I don't think this place will be around much longer.

We had the option of getting brunch or the regular lunch menu. I ordered the OG chicken sandwich and it was amazing. The chicken was full of flavor and juicy and I liked the sauce that came on it. Their famous short rib egg rolls were a bit burned on the outside so a bit dry on the inside. They did have a very good sauce served with them that pretty well covered the flaws. The risotto that came with my duck leaned a little too far to the mushy side. The duck itself was really good. My niece had the salmon, and she had no complaints. She said she had the leftover last night as a sandwich and that it was delicious. Service was excellent. No notes.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in.
