They have all these cute little signs up with different sayings... one at the register says something cute like if you're mean or have an attitude, we will charge you a $10 fee... This tiny little grill has been in Downtown Chester since I was in High School. It's changed owners and the name but still serving up great burgers and fries. The service is fairly quick. I always ask how long before placing my order, some days I just don't have 15 to 20 mins to wait for pickup. They are always honest, which I appreciate. Lunch time is a busy time for them. We decided to stop in this little diner on a whim and was greatly surprised. The food was cooked to order and everything was really good. The young lady taking the order was very nice and patient with us. Our food did not take long to get to our table and they made sure we had all the condiments that we needed. Based on the reviews, I didn't come with super high expectations. However, the food is really good! And so are the prices. All the ladies were super friendly that we're working. Most of our crew got hamburger and cheeseburgers - all were great. Fries were hot and tasty. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of the corn dog. I went to the Village Grill today to get a hot dog and limeade. They have changed their hours again and close at 3:30. I was there at 3:25 and they would not serve me. My mom and I have been regular customers. The place was packed so I don't see how they could refuse to serve me. I will never go there again. Went here for first time for a quick meal to go after a nearby appt. Food was good. However, please consider not cleaning with bleach & other strongly-scented cleaners such as "fabuloso" type cleaners with such strong fragrance and chemicals. After having to wait for my to go order, I left with a headache and the taste of whatever cleaner they had used lingering in my nose and throat. I think the fragrance had even gotten into my drink. Some people are very sensitive to strong odors/fragrance/chemicals not to mention how toxic they actually are for our body. I left there 3 hours ago and can still smell the fragrance on me and in my nose and throat. Ugh. Going home to shower. Chemical sensitivity is real... I truly don't mean this to be in a harsh or negative way, as the place is cute, local, and overall a nice little place to grab a quick bite. Think of the size of the junior frosty at Wendy's. The shake was a little thick and smooth for my taste. Many people have made comments about the store's decor. It's kind of kitschy with a lot of politics thrown in, but I will say that they have apparently toned it down a little. I realize as a private business they have the right to express their opinions. But why would you want to alienate half of your potential market just to make it known which way you swing, politically? I don't understand that. My children had the made to order bacon cheeseburger with fries and a soft drink, while I had two chili and onion hot dogs with a side of fries and a soft drink. The food was decent..better than fast food but not gourmet in any way..but the price was reasonable a t $23. Me and my son visited for lunch about a month ago. The food was good and cheap. It's a diner so nothing spectacular, good grub at a good price. We had a burger and a sub, both with fries, all was good. My son got sweet potato fries though and they cost almost $4! Just for fries! But the reason this middle aged white woman won't go back is the atmosphere. They weren't terribly friendly, but that's ok, I came to eat, not converse. They weren't rude, just not real friendly. But it's the utter ignorance on the walls that prevents me from spending another dime there. Very blatant anti-Democrat and pro gun crap everywhere. Not very welcoming at all. One of Chester's oldest establishments continues to offer good food at an inexpensive price. The food is fantastic, with very little as far as a wait time. This is an older building, that has hardly been updated. Which adds part of the charm. Now a few reviewers have jumped down this establishment for little comics and such that are posted up that have to do with politics etc. It is not as if there are huge billboards sprouting hate. Great small country style diner on the heart of chester to have breakfast. Went early on a weekday, wasnt crowded at all, got plenty of food and relatively affordable with a friendly staff. Pretty basic food options nothing crazy, just the usual eggs, breakfast meats, hash browns, rolls etc. Coffee was good but I'll admit I'm a fancy pants cityfolk who would have preferred a latte option. Ordered a cheesesteak and fries. I noticed that the same guy who took and handled cash AND wiped his hands on his jeans was preparing my food without gloves.
