The Classic, which has 2 patties that are between 2 & 2.5 ounces uncooked weight, is currently right a $9. That's very pricy for a 1/4 pound burger. For example, Culver's uses 2 patties that are 2.75 ounces uncooked, and the price is at least $2 less. Freddy's is a bit more expensive, but still cheaper. Heck, even the 1/4 pounder at McDonald's is well under $6, and remains a decent burger. As I said, not a bad burger, but not the best value for the quality for me.

I think at the end of the day, I still would learn toward the Blizzard, but that could partly be nostalgia. In either case, very much enjoyed all combos we have tried and their have been 4. I would say the mint base is probably the weakest, a little of a let down for mint chocolate chip lovers like myself. The Beef 'n Cheddar was nothing like I remembered. The roast beef was sliced much too thick, and it wasn't served on the usual onion roll. Overall, the sandwich didn't taste or look the way it should have. Looking back, I wish I had asked for a refund. We spent about $25 on our meal, and for that price, I expected much better quality. Another part of our visit was equally disappointing. While we were eating, a homeless man came in and filled a cup with iced tea without paying. While I understand that he shouldn't have done that, the employee's response was unnecessarily loud, rude, and demeaning. She made him pour out the tea and get water instead, but the way she handled the situation was uncomfortable for everyone in the restaurant. A little kindness and discretion can go a long way. Anyone can fall on hard times, and treating people with respect costs nothing. Overall, this was not the experience I expected. When I visited it was still pretty busy, but very manageable, especially because the menu at Cane's is as simple as it could possibly be. All you need to know: How many chicky tendies do you want? Do you want them on a bun? That's it. No complex menu of all kinds of varieties, just simple well-fried chicken, a couple of sauces for dipping (Cane's sauce and honey mustard), and you get fries, slaw, texas toast, and a beverage. Bing, Bang, Boom. The price is more than fair thanks to this simplicity, and the food comes out fast again... thanks to the fact that all they have to do is keep churning these very few menu items. I got "The Box" which is 4 tendies with the above accoutrements. I also got a honey mustard to go with the Cane's sauce and in my opinion, the honey mustard is the better chicken dip. The Cane's sauce is heavy on pepper, and really goes better with the fries. In either case, you can't go wrong. The chicken was hot, nicely battered, and perfectly fried. On it's own, there isn't much to the batter. They are relying on the sauce to do the lift and that is fine. I like their thinner style of crinkle fries, the Texas toast slice is buttery and thick, and the slaw is just OK. The restaurant layout is a little dumb, especially while they remain busy. There is an island of high top tables in the center of everything, and basically traffic flows in a ring around this and there is not much room for movement. A drink refill becomes an adventure in frustration thanks to this, or napkins, or a fork for your slaw. It would be helpful if napkins and fork were given with the meal, as you're gonna need both. Anyhow, I appreciate the simplicity of Cane's, and the chicken is very consistent for a solid price. I'll go back fairly often I am sure.
