In a World where everyone on social media is debating where to get the best cookies, Cookie Spin is sitting back knowing they're in the top five! I came across Cookie Spin a few years ago when I was on the hunt for a cookie. I loved that they offered a variety of flavors in different sizes because I always want to try all the different flavors but not have to purchase a ton of large cookies that might not get eaten. The cookies thick with an outer shell that holds up to your commute home but soft when you bite into it. Cookie Spin is generous with the toppings but not over the top that you can actually taste the cookie. I highly recommend the peanut cookie and the classic chocolate cookie. read more

While I haven't been lucky enough to visit Cookie Spin in person, I've enjoyed them at parties. Most recently they set up a dessert table at a bar mitzvah I was at...and nothing better than ending the night with a warm cookie skillet and ice cream. They had 4 different choices of cookies. All looked good so I asked what the most popular was and they told me oreo. And i made it even better by topping with cookie dough ice cream. They offered to make it even richer with caramel, hot fudge and toppings, but I declined since felt like i was reaching my sugar fix. I planned to only take a few bites since it had been a gluttonous day, but it was so tasty that I ate every last bite...it was worth it though! I hope to visit in person one day or even have them at one of my own events! read more

This is what Crumbl wishes it was. These taste homemade while still delivering unique flavors. I got the small cookies and it was a fairly decent price. My favorite was the lemon poppyseed. I wish they were a little less cookie cup like. read more

When you're treating a bunch of college kids to dinner at Lou Malnati's across the street and they have a craving for dessert, stop by Cookie Spin for a tasty cap to the evening - this place is fun! They had all kinds of ice cream flavors and milkshakes, and of course cookies. My favorite was the Fat Elvis ice cream - peanut butter and banana with sprinkles. The portions are generous, the milkshakes and thick, and everything hit the spot. Highly recommended - give this place a try! read more

Cookie spin deep dish cookies are more reminiscent of a mini muffin. I would recommend microwaving the cookies if you are taking them home. They were a bit dry straight from the box. I would recommend the birthday cake and ghost cookies. The staff was very helpful in answering any questions, even when the shop was busy. read more

I thought this was just a bakery! I am so happy to find that this place also serves all kinds of ice cream too!! Cookie Spin is conveniently located in a great area of North Center at the southwest corner of Lincoln and Montrose, across from Welles Park. This is a great spot to take the kiddos for ice cream after activities in the park! I had some fudge/brownie based ice cream, the name is escaping me at the moment. It was creamy and delicious, I couldn't get enough of it. I'm also a sucker for waffle cones and they had those too! Service was fast and delivered with a smile. There is also outside seating so feel free to hang around and enjoy your tasty treat :) read more

Cute lil pit stop on the way home from dinner. We wernt sure what to expect but it was worth the visit! Feedback is we did 2 cookie sundaes - one S and one L thinking they would be pretty small. The S is perfect for one person, or even two if you're not that hungry and the L was huge! In hindsight we should have split one L, even a S, but still no regrets. Got 2 small deep dish cookies: the maple bacon and the seasonal pumpkin pie. Contrary to the lower star ratings, my cookie/muffin hybrids were very fresh, moist, and flavorful. Perfect 2-bite size portions if you want to try multiple flavors (and there is A LOT to choose from). I don't understand the low reviews from people complaining about how these are more like "muffins." The menu makes the thiccccccness of these cookies pretty clear. My BF got the Bake Shake and he loved it. I will definitely come back to try their other stuff! read more

Outdoor patio which is pet friendly. They offer whipped cream for dogs. Cozy little dessert shop by the park that offers shakes as well as ice cream. Highly recommend the shakes for those sugar fiends. They will give you a rush. Those that crave cookies you are offered a wide range of flavors but the 'deep dish' variants that they offer don't quite calm the craving as they can be dry and undercooked on some parts. I tried to revive day old cookies by warming them which does help vs eating them cold. They do go for a novel and pleasant idea but I feel as if there is such a specific and narrow window to enjoy them optimally or as intended. Maybe the size or cookie style matters as well. I had the large deep dish s'mores cookie and it had a great consistency or firmness and gooey center that I would have wanted. I will definitely come back for the shakes and ice cream vs the cookie craving. read more

Ok so I always pass this place up going to work and finally had time and energy to stop in. When I walked in, it was as if I was expected to know what to do because the person behind the counter just stood there lol I told them it was my first time and they just said "let me know if you have any questions". Sooo yeah, there's that. So, I glance the menu and instantly knew I wanted cookie dough and some cookies to go. I was disappointed to learn that the cookies were not fresh. To be honest, I wouldn't even call those cookies. More like dried muffins . For $17 I was expecting warm and fresh but nah, definitely wasn't that. HOWEVER I say all that to say, 3 stars goes to the cookie dough and that alone is the reason ill be back. Maybe ill try ice cream next time but those cookies aint it. Yall gotta figure out a new recipe or something cause whoever said they good, lied. read more

Holy cow!! (Pun intended) this place is amazing. They have quite a bit of choices to choose from so no matter what your sweet tooth craves you'll be leaving very happy. The staff is also incredibly helpful with helping you choose. I knew I wanted cookie dough but wasn't sure if I wanted to edible cookie dough or the ice cream so he offered for me to get a 1/2 scoop of both. Drooooool. Both were incredibly full of flavor and very good. Inside the place is a bit small but there are a few bar stools by the window. There also is an outdoor seating area but it was too cold when we were there to enjoy it. Highly recommend this spot!! read more

Ugh, I hate to leave bad reviews to small businesses but these were not good. We were so excited for these but they were absolutely inedible and DRY! They're like dense, dry muffins. Nothing like a cookie! Advertised as a "soft-batch Chicago style deep dish cookie" but it was a dry hockey puck. Not even sweet enough to be a cookie. Sorry. These are really, really bad. read more

An A-OK place to get your sweet-tooth craving satisfied. This place sells Wisconsin Chocolatte Shoppe ice cream, which was cool. The staff here were super nice and explained everything thoroughly. Grab your sweet concoction with either a cookie, or mix it all up into a shake. You can't lose. The shop is somewhat small and seats no more than 20 people, but you can also sit outside. I went with some peanut butter chocolate in a cup and it was pretty good. read more

As a dairy-free ice cream connoisseur, I'm elated to have a local shop to support within walking distance of my home. Plus, IT'S DELICIOUS! I had the Soy Ultimate Oreo. My my, so tasty. Cookie Spin is a really cute cookie shop near my neighborhood that I've been dying to check out! I'm a big fan of cookies and I wanted to try their deep dish cookie. I ended up getting the chocolate chip deep dish sundae cookie with a brownie baked on the inside with salted caramel on top. The ice cream they had was Maggie Moos which I love! I got the cookie dough flavor ice cream. The sundae was tasty but it wasn't amazing. I took it to go so I think it would been better if I would have ate it at the shop. I definitely want to come again but the next time I want to get the cookie dough. I had no idea they sold cookie dough at the shop until the worker told me! I got to sample a little bit and it was so good! I wish I would have gotten that. I personally think you should try the place out because ya super cute and the people are nice. Try the deep dish while you're there and make sure you have some cookie dough while you're at it. read more

I can't decide whether the cookies themselves or the customer service is better here! My fiancee and I had to try as many different styles as we could, and Joe was more than happy to give us recommendations. We went with chocolate chip, birthday cake, peanut butter, s'mores, and the rainbow brownie (a brownie inside a cookie....woah). It was tough to pick our favorite but the birthday cake and rainbow brownie were really fun and different. We also loved the warming instructions on the box for both microwave and oven. We tossed ours in the oven for a few minutes and it was definitely the right call :) Couldn't be more pleased with the taste, quality, and the help from Joe! We will most definitely be back to try other styles of cookies as well as the milkshakes. Overall, a really fun experience with nice people and outstanding cookies to boot. Pricey but I really needed the milkshake in my life. Cookie sundae looked good, milkshake was good texture and good flavor. The cookie broken up inside was a little chunky at the bottom, but tasted pretty good together. Finished quickly! They also have some soy vegan options and edible cookie dough, so there is something for everyone! read more

The idea of making cookies into muffins sounds both tasty and creative, but it wasn't for me.....The real reason I keep coming here is because of their milkshakes! OMG! Their milkshakes creative, delicious, and surprisingly filling. Their milkshakes have different combinations of different candy, chocolates, and even cereal as toppings! I went there back when I first moved to Ravenswood during the summer and even now in the winter, I still go there! My favorites are the "Bear Hug Shake" (drizzle of honey and Teddy Grahams mixed in, then topped with whipped cream and Gummy Bears) & "S'mores Bake Shake" (S'mores cookie and mini marshmallows spun in, poured into a fudge drizzled cup, topped with marshmallows, graham cracker, whipped cream, and more fudge) If you're a sweet tooth lover or just love milkshakes, you better put this place on your list! read more

This is a cute place hidden in the Lincoln and Montrose junction. My husband and I were walking by this place and it was a bright sunny day so we thought of giving this place a try. The elderly lady behind the counter, I assume is the owner, asked us if it's our first time and patiently explained everything they had. We opted for their Nutella crunchy cone milkshake. It took about 5 min for them to make while we looked around the place. The quantity is decent. For a person with average to poor appetite like me, this could fill your stomach like a meal, minus all the nutrients ofcourse :P The shake was thick with crunchy waffle cone pieces , even had a fudge cake below and generous amount of whipped cream on top. They have a lot of deep disk cookie options too! regret not trying one. I'm definitely going back to try other shakes/cookies and ice creams that they have. read more

I had to give this place a five star rating. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite dessert places on the north side and I find myself going at least once or twice a month. It seems like there's always something new, and if there's not you've got a loooot of shakes or cookie flavors to try! In fact today I saw you can now do a flight of four warm deep dish cookies that comes with a free scoop of ice cream for $10. My favorite is the Eat Your Feelings shake! Today I tried their February special red velvet bake shake, so worth it! Staff are always friendly and willing to give suggestions. The owner's constantly in there and has a noticeably great work ethic. If you haven't already I suggest you go follow them on instagram at cookiespinchicago! Stumbled across this place while waiting for my car to get repaired. Was greeted immediately by a very friendly worker who walked us through the flavors and options (there are so many!!)! We ended up getting ice cream and a cookie. The cookie was perfectly gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside and the ice cream was so rich and creamy! Get a cookie and ice cream flight. Yes you heard that right a "FLIGHT" of cookies. You get to pick 4 cookies to try that are served on a wooden flight tray. All the cookies were very unique and full of flavor that I tried. And the worker can warm them up for you as well. And so was the ice cream. My one critique is that the cookies were not as moist/ fresh as I would have wanted. Even after being warmed up they were a bit dry and hard. It was later in the evening "still light outside" so I dont know maybe its better to go earlier in the day when they are baking them so they are not sitting for hours. read more

Not a fan! I ordered the 6 pack. The biggest offense was the maple bacon cookie. Gross!! The entire cookie was made with artificial everything. They over did it in the artificial maple flavoring and had the nerve to top it with artificial bacon crumbles. Real bacon isn't that expensive... make the investment please. The only saving grace was the brownie cookie. The rest of the box ended up in the trash after one bite. read more

Ordered Small S'mores, Small Maple Bacon, Small Caramel Apple and Frozen Oreo. The cookies were inedible. Bone dry with artificial flavors. One bite of each and the rest in the trash. The frozen Oreo was delightful and a A+. Good portion with plenty of Oreos in the filling. Will not return though. read more

Oh. My. Literally searched for a found my craving close to home! This place has ice cream, mini deep dish cookies, large deep dish cookies, or they'll take those deep dish cookies and cover them in ice cream, OR blend them INTO ice cream for the bake shake. They have suggested mixes or DIY. AND THEY HAVE COOKIE FLIGHTS. AND THEY HAVE SOME GLUTEN FREE. :DDDD (they had chocolate chip mini and large, and peanut butter pieces mini and large when I was there) AND THE ICE CREAM IS THAT WISCONSIN ICE CREAM SHOPPE PLACE. :D Also they are so nice! However, on that note, I would advise caution to people with assistive devices. I understand the location is a landmark and am glad it is there. I would like to see them make accessibility accommodations. There is only one door and it is revolving. We had to try and struggle with my mom's walker to get in. The staff was helpful with the door when we left. I think they would benefit from a bell at the door for people who need help.
