Was on the prowl for a bowl of pho before seeing a movie in Fullerton, and wasn't crazy about the options in the direct vicinity of the theater. Saw that Pho Lantern had recently opened in the old Teddy's location by the courthouse, so we thought we'd give it a shot. The menu was easy to navigate and the prices weren't over the top. I went with the filet mignon pho followed by an order of summer rolls. The appetizer was pretty delicious, filled with grilled meat, fresh veggies and the peanut sauce was fab for dipping in between bites. I enjoyed the pho and opted for the larger bowl since it was only like $1 more. Worth it. Especially on the weekends. such a cute place with Good music, amazing mouth watering food, and GREAT customer service...5 star isn't enough for pho lantern. Came here for the first time for some comfort food after a break up and the waiters here really knew how to put a smile on my face. Couldn't resist the great food and humor this place gives off so came back the next day for some more. Back here again the 3rd time and decided to change it up.. the pho here is soo good but don't forget the variety of food choices they have here.... just as good or even better. got the #45 wanton soup and it was perfect. The food is ok but not great. So this is the truth. They know perfect English when you order in the restaurant and you recieve all items ordered in person. If you order 3rd party such as uber eats etc, somehow items will be missing once delivered to your home. If you call over the phone they pretend to not understand English therefore the frustration will end the call. But thereafter either you drive to the restaurant or deal with a loss of items you ordered. Terrible service. It's not rocket science, go off of the order slip or receipt and check if all items are with the order. I can do a better job at customer service to ensure all orders are fulfilled. read more

This place has good food BUT the workers are inconsistently following COVID19 guidelines for food establishments. Night male cashier wears his mask under his chin while ringing up orders then covers his mouth after. There's another person wearing all black, long sleeve shirt, was walking around without a mask on. When he saw customers waiting on orders, then he picked up a used mask that's hanging on their counter, that looks like a wood whale's tail on display. People are sensitive to following safety protocols nowadays. Please be conscientious of your actions. We like supporting local businesses and today's visit made me uneasy. read more

Love the vegetarian pho here! Have been coming for about 2 years, and it is consistently great quality for the price. My kids love it, too. My hesitation with recommendation is that the last 2 times I have gone the person working is folding napkins with his mask off, then puts it on but not over his nose to checkout and hand me my meal. No hand sanitizer or washing in between.. Not following as strict of COVID protocol as I would like to see at this point in the pandemic. A-OK. It's a pho place that has opened in an older shopping center in desperate need of renovation, not just remodeling. Still, there is good effort on behalf of the restaurant owners, but it just doesn't live up to competitors in the area. When I order a pho dac biet, I expect to see ngo gai (sawtooth herb) and a variety of meats in my soup. Instead, it's the standard fare here, flank, brisket, sliced beef, meatball. Portion size small, lack of creative portions of beef, and the herb plate is super basic (bean sprouts, lime, Thai basil). No cilantro, no mint, just the minimum basics. Hey don't get me wrong, you want to give me the basics, I'm totally cool with that, but then don't charge me $8.95 for a basic bowl of pho. Maybe I'm just spoiled coming from Phoenix, but over there I could get a bigger bowl of pho, super large portions of beef (and many different kinds) not to mention a variety of herbs on my vegetable plate (and extra free vegetables if I asked!) for less than 5 bucks. I've been told that California is just more expensive to set up shop in, but then how do you explain how Banh Mi Che Cali just a little further south can pull it off for only $6.99? Very basic pho there, but a more appropriate price point (still not 5 bucks though). I also ordered a Thai tea here once and was shocked at the price point of $3.95 for a large, basically 4 bucks. Hey, I wouldn't be complaining if it was actually a large size, but it doesn't feel like one. All in all, if you ignore prices, it's just an okay experience. Factor in prices, and I'm scratching my head why people would come here when there's more affordable pho places that serve bigger portions at reasonable prices. Found this spot on Doordash. They have a wide selection of food from seafood, pasta, and appetizers. I ordered the Thai Tea, 1 lb of Shrimp, and their House Special Wings. The food was delicious! Although there was an error in receiving all my items, I was missing the wings in my order. I contacted Doordash to make sure what I ordered was correct and when I contacted the restaurant, a kind gentleman named Thomas was so accomodating. I just wanted to inform him of my missing order and he went above and beyond for me. He had an employee drop off my wing order when I would have been perfectly fine with picking it up and he even offered another free Thai tea! Great customer service!!!! The people working there are so generous which made the experience so much better. Also, the wings were not dry, perfectly seasoned, and fresh! I love pho so much, and this spot delivers all the goods. Pho ga and pho tai are my favorites but I also love many of their other Vietnamese dishes, like Bun Vermicelli and their egg rolls. Minus one star bc this place has a little bit of an identity crisis, even though I truly feel their desire to appeal to more people. Price: Pho Brisket for like $8 + taxes (Regular Size), but it feels like a small size Phó, and like large is $9 + taxes and the bowl is regular size, I know how Pho restaurants work, because I used to work for one and every chef always throws just a handful scoop of rice noodles or vermicelli noodles to boil up and like bam, throw some flap of meat, sprinkle some green onions and white onions and give it to the guest. Nothing special. When I got my To-Go order, everything was okay, but for meat quantity, it was very low. I prefer Yelpers to try out the Pho restaurants in Westminster, Garden Grove to get their money's worth, more noodles and more meat. It's the home of Vietnamese people. Me and my friends often pick a random place on yelp to often try to see whats good. We stumbled upon Pho Lantern and decided to gove it a try. It is located in a plaza to the right a large martial arts school, so you wont be able to miss it. Going go the restuarant, the servers are very friendly and will seat you as you enter. The first time I came here, I ordered their pho and it was pretty tasty and offered decent portions for the price. My friends would also recommend their rice dishes especially their com tam. The second time I came here, I decided to give their vermacelli a try. The eggeolls along with the shrimp were vedu tasty and offered a rich flavor. This dish in particular is well worth for the portion size if you have a big stomach. read more

We were super excited to see a new pho place nearby. Got a coupon in the mail for a free appetizer. We got spring rolls with shrimp and grilled pork. The spring rolls has a good flavor, but the warm peanut sauce was wonderful. It really added to the flavor. My partner got the oxtail pho, one of his favorites. The pho had a good beef broth that was very fragrant but was really lacking in depth. It came with a special "oxtail sauce" that was delicious and helped the broth when mixed together. It was like a cross between peanut sauce, chili oil, and Sriracha. Unfortunately, there were only two oxtails. I ordered the chicken noodle soup with chicken and veggies. The chicken broth was delicious. Almost somehow creamy....silky, though it was clear broth. The white chicken meat was terrible. Dry, over cooked, and even hard to chew. It was topped with some yummy fried garlic. I had the option of getting egg noodles, which I did. The egg noodles are a nice option but ultimately don't add to the dish in any way. Bathroom was messy. Very busy and customer service was definitely lacking because of it. Had a few outdoor tables too, one of which was seated a couple with a dog. First visit, actually did a take out not long after my first visit. Anyways, driving back and forth down Harbor to a skilled nursing facility I eyed it. On a day I wasn't feeling to well Pho sounded real good. Even being a hot day, it was something that my body was craving. Now I've only had Pho once before enjoyed it, so of course I was expecting something resembling it. However I was pleasantly surprised and over-the-tip excited when I received my bowl. First off, the little sit down restaurant is very nice and clean. I was expecting more like a burger joint feel, but it has more of a restaurant feel which was lovely because after sitting in a skilled nursing facility every day for 7 hrs, it was relaxing to sit somewhere different, comfortable and cool. I was greeted by my waiter which unfortunately lacked in service attitude, dry but did the job. Their menu offered a nice variety at least I think because all I was there for was Pho. I ordered chicken Pho with veggies and rice noodles (as suggested by the waiter versus egg noodles). My small bowl for $7.50 (?) was well worth the money I paid. Not only was it incredibly scrumptious but a very large portion. In fact I was so full, but it was so good I didn't want to leave any leftovers. Lol. It was nice and hot, filled with rice noodles, cabbage, sliced carrots, broccoli, bok choy, slivers of mushrooms, thinly sliced lean chicken in a tasty broth plus a plate of basil, sliced lime, jalapeños and bean sprouts. Everything is incredibly fresh. The whole experience was just what my body needed since I felt sick that day. Perhaps enjoying this was the reason the next day I felt so much better. Like eating chicken noodle soup when you feel lousy. Having a Sprite and a large tasty bowl of Pho came to $10 and some change. I couldn't get it out of my head so I sent my husband to bring some home. They packed everything so nice, the broth in large plastic containers, all the fix'ins in to-go containers and yummies that would come on a plate to add in a plastic bag. We bought three small orders and have had it two times already with one more meal awaiting. However my dad didn't eat his third portion; hence is probably why we had more leftovers. If you want amazing Pho, try it at Pho Lantern and I guarantee you be back or at least think about it. read more

This place is so good! I've been looking for family owned businesses to support and came across a great one with Cookin' Crab by Pho Lantern! They do takeout but we opted for the huge area of patio seating. As someone who has always found pho to be a bit bland, let me tell you this place is packed with flavor! The broth they use is super yummy and everything tastes really fresh! The vermicelli is also great and the noodles are thinner than what I've had before which I really enjoyed. Also the chicken lettuce wrap is a hidden gem that you gotta try if you're looking for an appetizer or a light entree. The cajun style seafood is also really good and great for takeout! The sauce they use is nice and light but also super yummy. We got the cajun seafood combo #1 and it had a nice variety of seafood, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Overall service is great as well and the people there were super nice to us and answered all of our questions about the menu. They also follow all the COVID regulations so you don't have to worry about that. I will definitely be coming back as well as visiting their Costa Mesa location! read more

This is one of my new favorite Vietnamese restaurants. It offers very good food with American style service. Sam, our waiter was fantastic. Drinks were out promptly and refilled very often. Very nice decor also very clean. The food was so good, that I forgot to take a picture before, so I took it after. We were 3 and had the chicken and shrimp spring rolls along with the sampler appetizer. One bowl of Pho, one bowl of dry noodles with chicken, one order of the mixed fried rice, two sodas and one boba. As you can see, plenty of bobas in the boba. The service is great! My wife and I shared the crawfish and shrimp combo. We also had the lemon salt French fries. We got the mild and the whole shebang seasoning. We enjoyed both! The shrimp and the crawfish were extra large. The seasoning was delicious, but there were several others we didn't try. Nice selection of beer.
