Today was no exception, as we picked up three of their dac biet + headcheese. The meats and pate were very tasty. Since we came early in the morning, the bread also seemed fresher. Overall, a pretty solid banh mi at about $4 a piece after the discount. Don't expect alot of bells and whistles with their sandwiches, their main selling point is that they're cheap. The restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of sit down space. Service did seem a bit slow, and this was to the point that a group behind me just left because they were tired of waiting to order (there were literally three customers including me). Might have just been a weird time in the morning, but still seemed like only one employee was making any effort to get orders fulfilled. read more

The place is very rundown on the inside, there's even an area closed off that looks like it hasn't been used in months based on how dirty it is. We placed our order at the front and the staff is friendly. When we were sat down an employee also checked on us so that we wouldn't wait long. Everything else about this restaurant is just not good. I ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Banh Mi, and admittedly it's very cheap. You get one free if you buy two. But even then it's still not worth it, it's a nothing sandwich. There's barely any meat, and even when you get a bite with protein it doesn't really taste like anything. My teeth couldn't cut into the chicken so huge pieces would come out of the bread, and the sauce was only on one side. I would much rather pay more for a sandwich I could enjoy. The other banh mis were the same, so mine wasn't just a fluke. I unfortunately really regretted my decision to eat there, and I hope that they at least improve the recipe. read more

We've been here only a handful of times and as a vegetarian I'm not a fan. I've tried the veggie sandwiches and this time tried the pad see eww with tofu. The consistency and textures were not what I'm use to when it comes to Thai food. The iced coffee was fantastic. And the milk tea boba was a hit. The Thai dessert was also fabulous and we got another to go. The hubby tried the pork vermicelli bowl and said it was good. Mama ordered the diced beef and rice plate and she enjoyed it all. What we ordered ~ milk teas w rainbow jelly is good. ~ thai green milk tea with tapioca aka boba is good. Not overly sweet. I have been here several times and the service here is awful. I usually come for the banh mi sandwich deal, but there are times when they run out of bread or they don't call your number but the food sits there. Ordering and restaurant lay out is a.bit confusing service was fast with my PHO arriving quickly it was accompanied by fresh Baudelaire, been sprouts and a wedge of lime. I chose rare beef as my protein. I found it more medium and a bit tough. As prices are continuing to climb on everything and anything in United States and especially in California, you will never find another Vietnamese spot with prices so low. A bowl of Pho is $15.95 to $23.95 in most places these days. Here I got a bowl for $11.95. The sandwiches were $5.95 and buy two and get one free. The prices are absolutely unbeatable. I picked up a bunch of to go items for later consumption and got a couple of soups and sandwiches to go. 2 Pho, 3 Bahn Mis, Spring Rolls, 3 Fried buns, and iced coffee for $55. Unbeatable prices. The reason why this place is not getting the fifth star from me is because the rare steak for the Pho was absolutely horrible and chewy and I think it's either a bad cut or the wrong cut of beef for Pho. I grew up eating at all the BMCC locations in SGV so I know what the quality should be. I originally was going to grab the Gỏi cuốn but these were so sad looking. They were half the size of what they use to be and then. So I opted for a baguette bahn mi and 2 French rolls to take home. They sold me day old French rolls because they were stale and hard. We decided to check out Pho Banh Mi Che Cali based on a recommendation, and overall it was a solid experience. We started with the barbecue ground beef banh mi and the shrimp spring rolls. The banh mi was savory and flavorful, though I did feel like there was a bit more bread than meat but still enjoyable overall. The shrimp spring rolls came with the dipping sauce and were delicious all the way through, fresh and well balanced. For our entrée, we went with the special combination pho, and that was definitely the highlight. It had a good amount of meat, plenty of noodles, and was very well done. I was in the area and saw this Bahn Mi shop, haven't had one in a while so thought I would grab a couple. Service was quick, and lots of choices. We got the Dac Biet, and beef teriyaki bahn mi sandwiches. Where do I even begin. The two Dac Biet were lacking the meats and other items that should be in it. According to the Yelp summary it stated lots of meat. There was a small and I mean small amount of carrots, no daikon, no cucumber, little pate spread. I ask the preparer to add extra cilantro to the sandwiches. They put one sprig of cilantro in each sandwich. Don't even get me started on the bread it crumbled in my hand and was tasteless. I am not sure if the bread was old or what, but it was not good at all. You couldn't give these sandwiches away even with the buy 2 get one free special. The sandwiches are very good, but bring cash. It's a $10 minimum if you use card and I'm able to buy a sandwich and a can of soda for about $7. One of the few places you can buy lunch for under $10. I love their BBQ beef and sometimes they do buy one get one free and it's worth it. Wait time varies, I recently visited and I second in line and it took about 12 minutes to get my sandwich which I unusually long for a small sandwich, but it's worth it. They share the space with a Pho place, so if you say you want a number 1, you have to clarify if you want a number 1 from the Pho place or from them. i've come here all the time since I was a child to get food with my mom, and the pho is always delicious. I will say in terms of service, today while I was getting food for myself because I didn't feel like eating here, but my mom did, I tried to call about three separate times within 20 minute intervals so I could just ask if I could place a pick up order. in the three times that I called while I went to get groceries at target, and also get in and out for myself, and then once more as I was leaving the In-N-Out drive-through, not once did they pick up. it's not something super trivial for me, because I have time to sit and wait if I go there, but it would've been nice for them to pick up at least once. food was quick, even though there was a short line, I got R5 with fried rice and A5. ambience is always good, the place is usually empty so it's not like there's a whole lot to look at. It's just their kitchen, a restaurant to the side, and a little deli section for you to check out some drinks.
