Thankfully, Atomic Plumbing & Drain Cleaning came through for us! Huge kudos to Jim and Will for being so professional, polite, and persistent. They quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to get everything fixed. We're so thankful to have water running properly again. Excellent service from start to finish -- highly recommend Atomic Plumbing!

I called Atomic Plumbing last month to quote a repair for a leaking corroded drain pipe in my crawlspace that caused a strong odor in my home. I clearly communicated the crawlspace's tight space when setting my appointment, and they agreed to send someone suitable for a $95 diagnostic fee. However, the fee for the quote unexpectedly increased to $275 for a relatively brief visit. Security cameras show the technician spent less than 10 minutes in the crawlspace. To make matters even more concerning, the technician claimed there was also a leak in the wall that would be requiring major kitchen repair and gave us a referral card to their preferred restoration company. The technician from Atomic claimed that this was a huge insurance claim and that we would be getting a whole new kitchen out of the ordeal. Three other professionals (from both a plumbing and a water damage restoration company) later confirmed there was no leak in the wall at all. We opted for a pipe swap from galvanized to pvc by removing some drywall under the kitchen cabinets, no cabinet removal or wall restoration was necessary unlike what the technician from Atomic Plumbing told us. I also found it odd that the technician described the damage as extensive but didn't take any photos to show us, unlike the other contractors who documented everything and deemed the issue manageable. I was leaning towards going with Atomic Plumbing initially. They had good availability and could've gotten the done the job sooner than the other company that I received a quote from. They did have a very quick response time, as they were at my house within an hour and a half of calling them Unfortunately the cost for just a quote jumping from $95 to $275 without any warning felt like a bait and switch, and is what ultimately made me decide to call another company for second opinions and repairs. I'm very thankful I trusted my gut and didn't go with Atomic and have my kitchen ripped apart for no reason.

My…read moreintention isn't to complain, but to express how the experience felt from a homeowner's point of view -- especially in a stressful situation with a non-working AC and a newborn in the house. When I booked the appointment, I was told there would be an $89 diagnostic fee, which I completely understood. But once the technician arrived and saw that the line was frozen, I was told I'd need to pay an additional $229 to thaw the system before any diagnosis could be made. This caught me off guard, as I didn't expect such a significant extra charge for something that seemed like a necessary part of troubleshooting. After the line was thawed, I hoped for a clearer answer, but the technician told me: * He couldn't say how much refrigerant I needed * He had only 1 lb of R-22 * He would need to leave and return, which would cost another $175 for travel time, plus $280 per pound of R-22 * Alternatively, he offered to fill the system with an alternative refrigerant, and kindly noted that if we replaced the unit later, we wouldn't be charged for it * Lastly, I was given a $10,000 replacement quote and was asked to leave a deposit if I wanted to move forward I respect that the technician came out and did his part, but I walked away feeling like I had paid over $300 and was still left without a real solution -- only an expensive replacement quote or the promise of more charges if I wanted to continue. I'm not trying to question anyone's integrity. But as a customer, I left the visit feeling overwhelmed and unsure if this was truly the best approach for someone in my situation. I understand that older units and R-22 systems are tough, but I think more transparency upfront -- especially about extra charges -- would've made a big difference. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope this helps your team see things from a customer's perspective, and perhaps guide future interactions with families facing similar situations.

Not sure if it is a company issue or just the individual tech we had out. Ryan Obregon was our…read moretech. He came out to inspect why we had no AC and told us that we had a large refrigerant leak. He told us that our system was outdated and took r22 which was expensive to replace and therefore recommended a complete replacement. He quoted us $8000-$18000 to replace our unit for a 1400sqft home. I discovered by looking at the manufacturer's label on the unit that ours was r410a refrigerant, which is newer and less expensive. The unit was only 10 years old. When confronted with this, Ryan offered to come out and find the leak for free and quoted me a ballpark of $3000 to fix the leak and refill the unit. Not trusting this anymore I contacted another AC company who came out. They discovered the system had 0 refrigerant in it but were unable to locate a leak. They filled it with nitrogen overnight to test if the pressure dropped and it didn't indicating the leak was likely a pinhole size. They repaired the line using ez seal and refilled it, which cost about $500 total. The new guy from the other company stated he questioned if the previous company had actually drained my refrigerant as he said there is no way a pin hole leak would lead to 0lbs of refrigerant in the system and not be detectable unless it's been empty for years. With this he stated that a new unit our size with labor would likely be $3000-$3500 tops with labor. All this to say, be cautious with this company, or at the very least this tech. Seems to be a very sleazy way of doing business. It's a shame that some take advantage of less informed people to make money.
