I had 3 different companies come in and give me an estimate to replace my whole refrigeration system in BOTH of my restaurant's locations, one on the UES and the other in Meatpacking. One company gave a slightly cheaper price than Cool Works so, like a dummy, I decided to go with them and what a nightmare that was. I had to actually refuse to even pay that company because they did such an awful job. Then I called Cool Works back and agreed to pay their what seems to be a bargain of a price in retrospect, and let me tell you when I say they completely SAVED THE DAY. Not only were they able to correct the major errors that the other company left, but they did such an amazing job when they were finished, and they were QUICK too, so I was able to open for business ASAP. I continue to use them for any minor problems and they will be the first people I call for any future installations. I would absolutely recommend this company to everyone. read more

High marks for Cool Works Company. Randy knows how to solve problems and provides excellent customer service. They gave an example of this when bidding on my (screwed up) heat vents in an old building. The vents were condensing water onto the sheet rock, heater 10 years old. They worked to find a way to use the existing heater but it was impossible without tearing out walls in the upstairs apartment and floor. They recommended a solution that involved upgrading the heater but allowed minimal duct work - and then they got the job done. Examples of money they saved me was working from an extension ladder rather than requiring scaffolding ($700-$1000, even for one day) and also in scoping out the needed clearance for the vent. This allowed us to not have to take a stack up to the roof. I cannot recommend Cool Works enough! Truly a 5 star operation. read more

I live in one of the first curtain wall residential skyscrapers with an HVAC that was state-of-the-art at the time, but quickly was rendered outdated. Therefore, to replace such a heat pump unit is difficult for a number of reasons... not least of which was a difficult management office in my building. Despite all of these challenges, Mike and the team at Cool Works, like a hot knife through butter, found an excellent unit, obtained it in short order, passed through building criteria with flying colors, installed the unit promptly and professionally, AND finally, priced his work in what I researched as mid-range. I had Cool Works Co. change the furnace in a rental property on East 45th St. and they did an excellent job! The Law Firm that I work for has been using them for ten years, so I decided that they must really know what they are doing, because my firm would not be using them this long if they didn't. Coolworks came out in a couple of days and had the work completed in half a day. They also installed some extra insulation and did not charge me for it. My technician really knew his stuff! He interviewed me on building use to determine the cooling load, told me exactly what size unit we needed (much bigger than I thought) and what I could do to save thousands on utility bills going forward (added an economizer). Just had my whole HVAC system replaced on the hottest day of the year in nyc. They went above the call of duty when they worked from 9-9 on the 1st day in order for me to have air conditioning that evening and was here the next day to finish the heating part of the system. I was happy with the guys that did the work and appreciated their professionalism. I completely disagree with the other review... i called and got quotes from three other companies to have a new AC unit put in my home and recently called them again to fix the heat in my restaurant. I went with CoolWorks because they were the cheapest. I am very happy with the job they did and the workers who came were very polite and even covered their shoes to avoid dirtying the floors in my home.
