Marine owned / woman run op / was greeted by friendly staff and stared at by the regulars -- Reasonable pricing (my beer was only $3.50 his soda $1)! Although breakfast is offered all day, we chose to eat lunch. Food came out of the kitchen freshly prepared and tasty. The hangover burger and the chicken sandwich both had thick delicious pickles, fresh lettuce and tomato etc. Bacon was too fatty for my taste (still the meat portion was extra crispy). The Bunker has become my new favorite local bar to support! The decor is awesome - the owner Allen is a Marine veteran and the place is decked out. It's a great vibe! The food is delicious. I highly recommend the burger or BLT with fries. My personal favorite are the waffle fries but my friends love the hand cut option. The bartenders are super friendly. I've only been coming here for a few months but from the moment I walked in, it felt like I knew the regulars and staff for years. They host karaoke on the second and fourth Saturday's starting at 8:00 pm, which is a blast! The woman who runs it, LaRonda is a hoot and has every song you can imagine. Went there 01/03/25 for dinner with my wife. The pictures on Yelp looked great (who doesn't love hand-cut fries?). The owner and bartender treated us well, no complaints and I liked my pasta (the owner's own), and well, over fed us (again, no complaints!) and really enjoyed it (ate the rest the next day for lunch). Looking forward to the karaoke (once a Saturday every month if I understand it/heard it right). Owner is proud of his food (looking forward to more of his cooking). Came here for a surprise birthday and from the outside it doesn't really look like much. The inside isn't too crazy either but it's about the experience. Good amount of tables to come and eat at, heard the food was pretty good. Drinks were also good, got a variety, mixed drinks, shots, special shots etc. Only down part is that they taxinnnn on drinks, so be prepared. They have a slot machine section as well as pool and some games and darts in another room. Location was a little sketch but experience was good. Recommend coming with group of people. I went here after a baseball game and I was not as disappointed with the food as I thought I would. The service was the only down side being very slow and we waited at the place for around 30 minutes for only our appetizer which we ordered and were fine. Our first visit was nice, the owner Allen let us play a round of pool for free and we had the back area to ourselves b/c I don't care for the smell of squares. Our second visit was on Wednesday- which is a free pool night. I placed my order for the, 10 wings (half hot and half garlic Parmesan, tossed), a cheese burger w/a sunny side egg on top and side of fries (I do not recall the name of the burger), with the bartender. As we were discussing my order, another customer stood next to me and repeatedly talked over us, saying he wanted another shot and to close his tab, it was the rudest thing I had ever seen and she was SO calm and quickly told him alright and continued with me, I was very impressed by her professionalism and her ability to juggle, his rudeness and my picky order w/ease - she didn't write it down and it was correct. Since I had wanted my pickles and onions on the side, Allen decided to come over to the pool table and give me a hard time about it, no big deal - I love a joke. But while discussing my order with me he actually put his arm around my waist, I laughed it off but I was very uncomfortable by that. He then referenced if I liked the "whole dill pickle" in a sexual innuendo and when I said "What?", he gave me "a punch" and said "Aww I'm just messing with you", with a smile, I laughed that off as well. I'm not looking for trouble anywhere when we are ethnically out numbered. The food came out pretty quickly which was very impressive but unfortunately the burger was the best thing. Stopped by today after recently moving to the area. We could not have been more impressed with the service! Allan and Denise really went above and beyond to make sure our time at the Bunker Bar was perfect. The food was top notch bar food, but really what will bring us back was the hospitality of these two! Allan even moved his motorcycle to the spot where we were sitting to make sure a car wouldn't park in front of our table. They introduced themselves and really made us feel welcome. In between serving tables, these two were the ones responsible for cooking the food and making the drinks; and you could tell they are proud of what they do. Definitely will return! The worst food and service I have had in a very long time-Cold food with not all the ingredients on the menu, had to go find our server several times to order and question the poor food. Excuse was "a new cook, first time server" We went to the bar to settle up our bill, stating we would pay for what we ate, but the manager could not figure out what we owed because he could not figure out how the POS system worked. I told him we waited over 20 minutes for our food, I would not wait that long to add up 4 items. Why we even offered to pay for what we got is beyond me. read more

This is a great place and a MUST GO TO in West Chicago.....a hidden gem in the west suburbs of Chicago, period. A nice "hole in the wall" bar with great people and GREAT FOOD (e.g., burgers, wings, fish fry, BLTs, cheese curds, and more). The owner Allen is very friendly says hello to everyone that walks in and has created an atmosphere here that is very comforting. Pool tables, darts, and other games can be enjoyed and the bartenders have all been great. Also the men's (assume women's) bathroom is very clean and nice (a big deal with hole in the wall bars, my opinion).
