Bad customer service. I bought a double Americano yesterday, and the lady charged me $3.50 + $2.00, which should've been $4.50. I told the woman that made my coffee, and she seemed annoyed and reluctantly asked for manager to correct receipt. I waited a while and no manager came to correct receipt. Then an African woman server came to me and asked, so I told her I was charged extra, so she went and got the manager. Both the manager and African server tried to figure out how to void the transaction and charge me correctly. Finally, she asked (rudely) for my credit card to charge again. She said the other transaction has been voided out. I asked for the voided receipt, and she said there isn't one, but it's been voided. Today I looked at my bank statement, and not only was the wrong transaction or voided, but I was charged twice for the wrong amount and an additional charge for the correct amount! Cooper's Mill is a hospitality establishment, so it's not up to me to provide good customer service, it's up to the restaurant, which I did not receive at all! And watch your receipt and bank statement because they will over charge and extra charge you!! read more

Thankfully the hotel had a great restaurant on the premises. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is fresh and love that the ingredients are local. Had the venison and it was so tender. Also had a salad and the flavors were on point. read more

I want here for the first time yesterday for wings the wings were good but not the best would I go back again I did this morning for breakfast I had potatoes eggs bacon coffee and orange juice which is really good I would recommend this place to anyone staying at the hotel the only thing I can say is the place is very loud and right by the entrance of the hotel read more

I had the quinoa burger and the flavor was so so great! I absolutely loved it. My boy got a pepperoni pizza, which was okay (the pepperoni was a bit odd, but not horrible). The husband got their burger. All were delicious. read more

Yeah OK, so I feel weird about posting a positive review of a hotel restaurant. They're almost universally mediocre, and I've tried them all - I travel a lot. Cooper's Mill is WAY better than a hotel restaurant has a right to be. Their menu has the classics, but wanders into some seriously interesting directions. I chickened out and had the burger - which was excellent, and my girlfriend had roasted chicken (which I uh, finished for her). But the star was the tater tots. I know, I know I sound like a redneck. But they're new, improved, gastropub-hipster tots. They're bigger, they're different, sort of a cross with potato cakes....look man, they're strong. Really strong. Just try them. Service is also solid and the decor is well beyond the usual industrial carpet and vinyl covered seats. Someone put some time, thought and investment into this place and it shows. read more

Cooper's Mill is ok. Restaurant options are a bit limited at the Marriott and this is an ok choice. I found service to be a bit slow, but it was friendly. The flatbread came highly recommended but was nothing to write home about. It appears they have flights of beverages- which may be a better reason to stop. read more

Exactly what our neighborhood needed! Not your typical hotel restaurant. Great food, good craft beer and a great cocktail list. We live up the street and will definitely be back! So excited to have a good restaurant to walk to. read more

Love this restaurant! It's our favorite in Bethesda-- we also hosted our engagement party here :) The food is amazing and the staff is fantastic. This place is a must-try! We are in hotel for two days for a wedding. We set down at the table in your restaurant and waited for 15 minutes. Nobody approached us so we moved to the bar where rude bartender gave us menus. We asked for a cider were told no and nothing else was offered. Asked for water twice was given to us after we got drinks as well. We asked for no cheese on flat bread due to allergy, we were met with shocked smile, reasoned with and later chef came out to confirm our order. Really, no cheese? At the end of our "experience" the bartender asked us: "everything was good, right?!" We were never offered crushed peppers, oregano or anything else to better our dinner. Man in a suit ( presumably manager) came out of back after maybe 30 minutes. People in restaurant were looking around asking bus girl for help, coming up to bar to pay... Just unfriendly, uneducated staff, poorly managed restaurant. We will do our best to dine elsewhere for rest of our stay. Food was standard. read more

Rounding up to 4 from a 3.5. Cooper's Mill gets a lot right. The interior is soothing and stylish and table service is solicitous. There are some delicious things on the menu at Cooper's Mill. Salads are exceptionally fresh and flavorful, and dressings are sprightly. The skillet cornbread is superb, as is the charred cauliflower appetizer. The char entree is perfectly cooked. The burger is served on an excellent potato bun, and contains an appealing mix of accompaniments, including two generous strips of bacon, finished to an impeccable crispness. Where this kitchen falls short is on the details of execution, which detracts from the experience of dining here. Meats have tended to be overcooked: a burger requested "extremely rare" is medium rare; the hickory lamb leg is slightly dry. That nicely cooked char is swimming in a gloppy sauce. This establishment is comfortable and delivers excellent ingredients. Additional finesse in the cooking would make it shine as it should. read more

Seemed like a good place to eat, However, two mornings in a row the breakfast I ordered off of their menu didn't come as described. When we asked the server about it he didn't even know what we were talking about. So I cannot give a positive review. The service is HORRIBLE! I am seated at a table and the waitresses took over 10 minutes to get to us. It is not like they are crowded. I had to go to the bar 2 times to get a drink - too bad for the waitress. My friend ordered a soft drink and it took 20 mins it to get to us - A SOFT DRINK! Super friendly staff and creative local flair. Had a wonderful dinner the other night with great company at the chef's table. I really enjoyed the ambiance, it had a rustic, farm to table feel. Tried the tot sampler with "awesome sauce" which was very nostalgic. A fun take on a classic. The sweet potato tater tot paired great with the sauce, perfect sweet and heat flavoring. We were greeted by the chef, who personally described his creations in detail. He is clearly passionate about the food he serves. Went here for dinner on Friday night with my husband. We were surprised at how empty it was for 7PM. We were seated promptly and got great service. Food is good. Atmosphere is spacious and clean. Draft beer selection is lacking. The staff could stand to hussle a bit. Wait times for food and drink were far too long considering that there weren't many guests. We ordered tater tots, a flat bread pizza, a kids' meal, fries and a few beers. Had dinner here last night. It was fairly busy for A Friday night. Waited 35 min for someone to come to the table. Had to ask hostess 2x if they assigned anyone to our party of 9 because waitresses would walk by and never make eye contact so we could ask them. Finally the hostess came over to take our drink order. She took 3 of the 9 and then walked away. Waited another 10 min and went to tell her she forgot the entire other side of the table. Drinks took at least 15 more minutes. Stopped a waitress and asked her if anyone was assigned to our table. She said yes but the kitchen was so backed up there was no point in taking our order if the food is never going to come out. I told her we would still like to have drinks while we wait. She told us 7-10 minutes and she would come over. We quickly ordered a. Bunch of apps at the same time because we were afraid we would never see them again. No apologies. Not even a friendly explanation. I've waited tables - there is a proper way to explain every unavoidable delay. Blowing it off like it's not her problem is not the way. The food was decent when we finally got it. An 18% tip was added so I see why they could care less about giving decent service. They get paid whether they try or not. Well over $300 to be treated like a nuisance is not fun. When your stuck at the Marriott there is no where else to eat so you are a captive audience to any treatment.
