The staff of this restaurant is amazing. We had a 5:30 reservation, but we did not check into the hotel until 5:30. I stopped by the hostess desk to see if we could push back the reservation. This was a busy Saturday Night and she could not have been more accommodating. She took my name and assured me it was not a problem. Thirty minutes later we returned and the hostess called me by name. We were quickly seated with Erin (remember her name) who asked if we were going to the concert that night. She made suggestions that would help with our time restriction. She was spot on with the 12oz Barrel Cut Filet. You could almost cut it with only the fork. My wife had the 8oz Filet, and she said it was maybe the best steak she's ever had. We had the mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese as our delicious sides. After our meal, Erin suggested we come back for coffee and dessert, which we did. My wife had the creme brûlée and I had the tiramisu. Both are made in house and delicious. Well worth the price. The restaurant has a warm, upscale atmosphere. Our servers were friendly, but not super attentive. We had to wait on refills but our food was served quickly. The complimentary soft bread was good but the "chips" cheapened the meal. We ordered the chop salad and Caesar salad and both were served warm. The Caesar salad was terrible. It had a strange after taste, but the flavor of the chop salad was ok. The sear on the steaks were really good and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were so tasty; 2nd best I've ever had! The mac & cheese was bland. Tasted like too much cream was added, which took away any taste of cheese. The chocolate cake was ok, but I don't believe it is made in house. It's reminiscent of a Malones chocolate cake. We were also served with a complimentary dessert which was a tempered chocolate cup filled with whipped cream topped with chocolate and strawberry sauce. It was pretty but not appetizing for us to eat a cup of whipped cream. We went to 19 steak and seafood while we were at Belterra resort for a concert. It was very busy, although not all the tables were full. We were there almost 2 hours because our server was taking care of too many tables all by himself. The steak was cooked exactly. The way we asked, and all of the sides were delicious. I had high hopes for this establishment. Looking forward to a great steak. I will say the breadbasket was excellent! I ordered the barrel cut filet and truffle cream corn. The steak was sub-par but I will say it was pink In the middle but was dry. The cream corn had a sour taste and was not pleasant. The server was attentive but you can tell this is not a top end steak house. Again, management needs to train the staff on how to be a top end restaurant. Living just up the road, this place is the one of best in the area (maybe 3rd and Main in Aurora is right there with them). Since it's in the casino it gets good business... you will need a reservation. If you get a table (not at the bar) without a reservation, consider yourself lucky and go gambling :-) The King Crab legs are great and you can get them by the ounce. In the area for work and decided to stay at local casino resort, Belterra, where this restaurant named, "19," is located. The restaurant derives its name after the State of Indiana's place joining the United States. Out for steak and tonight's selection, the 45-Day dry-aged Prime Cowboy Steak Ribeye. The steak was presented with a very nice crust, which is better than Gordon Ramsey Steak in Vegas, in my opinion. It was perfectly seasoned and expertly broiled to the perfect temperature of medium rare. The bites literally melted in my mouth like butter, it was so tender. Unlike many aged pieces, mine did not have too much of the funky flavor usually present in some aged beef. It is apparent that the supplier knows what they are doing during their aging process. And not that I care to eat too much fat, but I must mention that the fat was so well broken down by the aging process that it dissolved in my mouth like cotton candy. The ribeye is served with a roasted half bulb of garlic. Plucked from its skin like jewels of pomegranate, the cloves paired well with bites. What a delectable dish! This was a Jeff Ruby's back a few years ago, we have eaten here several times on business dinners. It is a higher end restaurant so expect the prices to be there too. The steaks are very good along with sides, service is excellent and follow up is very good. You may have to sloooow them down just a little they do tend to be schedule oriented and will try to push each part of the service a bit too fast. Food is great here as is the service. Have been a few times and never walked away disappointed. Go to items include the Caesar salad, filet, baked potato (loaded on the side), and macaroni cheese. I split all this with my wife, and we love it every time. All these items are splittable. Baked potato is massive. When splitting the filet, they split it for you so you can cook it to your individual liking vs one person having to settle if happen to like it cooked differently. Suggest rounding out the meal with a slice of chocolate cake if really looking to splurge. I have generally ordered an old fashioned. That too has been good every time. Update: We came back to try it again. Much better! We were served quickly and had a great service. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Definitely better the second time! There were very few people seated in the restaurant when we arrived for our reservation. I was surprised that it took so long to get our drinks from the bar. We waited 15 minutes for a drink after ordering. My husband's steak was well done even though he ordered medium. That was disappointing considering how much she spent on the steak. Obviously we did not send it back due to time and I am one of those people that hates sending something back or complaining while in the restaurant. But when you are a restaurant that specializes in steak you would think they would be able to determine the temperature of a steak. Also he ordered the steak and lobster and received a tiny, skinny lobster tail eaten in two bites. I don't think that was worth the price. Service was very slow considering the fact there was no one in the restaurant but about five different tables. Definitely would not spend the money to go back here. We were staying at Belterra for a company outing. There were 11 of us...so not a huge gathering. Drink order was taken and arrived in a timely manner. Apps were ordered, oysters on the half shell and shrimps. I did not have the oysters, but those that did, enjoyed them. The shrimps were huge but for me, very tough. We then ordered our dinner. I, along with someone else, ordered the Petite Fillet rare. My significant ordered the ribeye, med-rare. Our fillets came out well done!!! And tasted like ashes. My sig gave me his steak, which was medium and tough. One of the other attendees ordered the salmon, and hers too was severely overcooked. Another ordered the beef bourgeon, and said it was extremely salty. Such a disappointment. We where there when it was a Jeff Ruby's and had a wonderful meal, so not sure what is going on here. Although my first impression was two fold: 1)The staff certainly are welcoming and 2) how does an establishment in the middle of nowhere Indiana warrant this price point for food. But with that said, also know, you get what you pay for in life. After a pre-dinner drink in their bar to the dinner we were then served by Josh (I think that was his name), we really had a nice experience at 19 Steak & Seafood. The price point is high, but the quality is there. It was not there in the sushi appetizer nor with special vegetarian entree fresh from their garden on property, but with these two exceptions where price point and quality did not measure up, our meal was fantastic. My mom enjoyed the lobster/steak entree and my dad had the prime rib. From great bread to solid cocktails to a great variety of option to suit everyone to great quality cuts of beef, 19 Steak & Seafood was a great bonus to our stay at Belterra. The room is open, welcoming, dark wooded with a fire place anchored in the middle of the room. Big groups and intimate couples were co-mingling in the same space of the restaurant. Our server, the manager, the hostess...everyone made us feel like valued customers and grateful for our patronage. Not sure if this was because it was not too busy on the night we were there, but I would like to think the service is there regardless of demand. The crab cakes were flavorful BUT had large pieces of onion & celery ~ which weren't really cooked down at all. The asparagus was roasted & the parts that didn't have hollandaise were delicious. Portions were small with little to no beef with my dish. Far cry for a $40+ entree. Along with a glass of wine each, total with tip was $180 and I left feeling scammed. Service has also taken a drop, a mostly empty restaurant they cram every guest right next to each other for zero privacy, server doesn't know the menu, no appetizer or bread plates, rushed through telling specials, and dropped cheap to go containers on the table when we were ready for the check. So upscale restaurants with white tablecloth that call themselves fine dining no longer pack your leftovers for you? I don't need it but I get better service at somewhere like Olive Garden. Somewhere I drop almost $200 for two people I expect a little more. Will be another long time before I give them a chance again. read more

Had a group of 18. Place looks nice and is comfortable. The food is overpriced. They hype their steaks but aren't anything special. Lacked the quality of a Prime grade. A friend ordered the pork chop and said it was excellent. I tried the barrel cut, filet and NY strip. Good sizes but preparation wasn't correct and lacked the dry age taste. If I go back would eat the brussel sprouts. Those were decent. Bartender makes a bad old fashioned. One of the waiters we flagged down was able to make one correctly. For our size group our waiter had no support and was working other tables. In the two hour dinner I received 2 beers, by ordering through the busboy. I think a manager was walking around but didn't see her talk to anyone. Other wait staff enjoyed chatting with each other in the bar. Our guy needed some help. My wife and I live close and wanted a nice dinner to celebrate. We tried 19 seafood and steaks and were not disappointed. Of course everything is very pricey, but that's what you'd expect from a place like this. I highly recommend the crab cakes, they were the best I've ever tasted. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. They bring out a half a garlic that has been roasted and you can spread it on your steak like butter and it is divine. My wife's filet was also very good. I recommend the creamed corn as a side, we also got mashed potatoes and they were "ok". Everything else was as good or better than expected. read more

When this place first opened I mourned Jeff Ruby's and Belterra's choice to forego non-Belterra owned shops. When I first dined here I felt like I was in a fancy conference hall. It was just after opening and I have now learned not everything was decorated and up on the walls. It is now a very pleasant dining ambiance - not quite Jeff Ruby's but still top notch. I absolutely adore that every steak is served with a large clove of roasted garlic. Enough for a piece on every bite of your steak if you so desire. It is delicious. The steaks are still top notch - they have lost nothing in the transition. Cocktails are still excellent and you can get top-shelf cocktails for a good price - just specify your liquor of choice. The wine, on the other hand, is a bit insane. One wine sells for $16/glass and you can get that wine on sale at your local grocer for $16 for the bottle. Considering they have the buying power of the casino at their fingertips you know they are paying less than you would at retail so I would guestimate their markup is 500% or more. One restaurant (not a chain) in Bloomington sells the same wine for $9/glass so you tell me.... But back to the positives! We have had several servers and I can only say that all have been excellent - attentive and caring while unobtrusive. The hostess has remembered my name after only one visit (that's crazy to me) and the only manager we've ever seen remembers us when we come in and always says hello (FYI, does that lady ever get to go home?!). An excellent place to take your family, a date, or a business gathering. For those of you concerned about children or taking a date under 21 - keep in mind (despite the other review) this restaurant is NOT "in" the casino and you do not need to be 21 to go! read more

The "no-excuses-give-us-another-shot" approach brought us back to 19. We went in on a Wednesday night. You would be surprised with the amount of people at Belterra during the week. Again, we were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. In the last review, I forgot to mention the delicious Parmesan flatbread offered in the bread basket. Definitely worth trying. We ordered the crab cakes again and they were perfect. One of the highlights were the fried capers in the sauce. They just added the right amount of crunch and acidity. We followed this appetizer with a Chophouse Salad. After my great review of the Wedge, I would have to say the Chophouse is better. Very simple (lettuce, tomatoes, bacon), but the dressing is heavenly! Warning: The salad portion is enough to share! The filet was cooked perfectly and accompanied by horseradish Brussels sprouts and mac n cheese... Both excellent. The service was friendly and most times prompt. I enjoyed this visit much more than the first. They were "forgotten" for about 5 minutes, and we had to flag someone and ask if those were ours to get them on our table. Wedge salad was delicious with what seemed in-house blue cheese dressing. For entrees, my husband ordered the filet. He raved about it. I enjoyed the roasted garlic served next to his steak. His sides were the recommended truffled creamed corn and Mac and cheese. Both delicious. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with crab risotto and a tomato sauce. This was a big disappointment. The cut of the fish was odd (VERY thick in the middle), which made only half of the fish truly edible because the middle was undercooked. The edges were crispy and flavorful, but the middle was slimy and see-through. The risotto was bland and did not taste like crab. For dessert we ordered the molten chocolate cake with coconut ice cream. The cake had a strong liqueur taste, and not my favorite. I wish i would have ordered something different. compliments to 19 on the coconut ice cream. It was creamy and most likely made in-house. I was sad that there was no happy anniversary mention throughout dinner. Only the hostess said something when we arrived. Call me cheesy, but if they ask about celebrations, there should be something written on the plate, a candle or something. This dinner was special to us. Lastly, it was odd to me that when my husband ordered an espresso, they brought him a styrofoam cup from the coffee shop next door. If coming from there, they should have put the espresso in a pretty espresso cup. No sugar was served or offered either. Don't know if I would go back. You must catch them on the right night. We had a large group dinner and some of the steaks were not to our liking. When you order medium rare it should not come out well done. Wait staff can be iffy. We had an older lady the night of 1/4/17....she was as moody as I have seen. She grew very frustrated with our group because we were not ready to order, and then she disappeared for 30 minutes. He got it straightened out, brought the drinks and took our food order. He didn't come back to our table for at least half an hour. We waited close to 20 minutes for the food, which someone else brought. I needed pepper, my friend wanted another drink but no one checked on us. The waiter finally came back when we were half done with our food and seemed offended when I said I thought he had left. He finally brought my friend another drink, put it on the table and said "Here you go, sweetie". She was not happy about that. Food was no where near worth the price. We both ordered the seafood alfredo, for $47. Smallish portion with 2 shrimp, 2 scallops. Shrimp was tough and overcooked. Scallops were okay. Alfredo sauce was in big clumps, not coating the fettuccini. We also ordered an order of asparagus, which was decent. All in all we could have gotten a much better dinner at Red Lobster. $157 for poor service and barely mediocre food. read more

OMG! I have never had a better meal - ever. I had the lobster bisque. It was created at tableside and so delectable. The shrimp cocktail was outstanding - and the sauce was incredible.
