As a native New Orleanian, I can honestly say this was one of the best crawfish Etoufee I've ever had. And it was adorned with perfectly fried catfish to make it an unbelievable meal. We started off this feast with Natchitoches meat pie's and Boudin balls, both we're perfectly prepared and had great sauces to kick it up a bit. I chose this restaurant based upon other Yelp reviews and was really pleased with the results. My first 45 seconds almost made me leave when I was ignored at the entrance and had to ask if I should seat myself or wait for her....guess I broke the trance and got seated. My server was Antoinette who was great and sold me on the Shrimp Ettufee' that was outstanding! I also had gator bites to start and they were good. They'd be better with beer but that's a different story. Had the varietals of stubborn soda that were good too. Great service by Antoinette. If you're in Mountain Home this is a great choice. Hope they get a beer license. It would fit nicely to the menu. read more

Oh my goodness- the food was so good! Reminds me of when I lived in Louisiana. Our server was so cheerful and attentive --she made great recommendations! I got the BBQ shrimp, my partner had the sampler plate (he ordered the shrimp and fish blackened) which were all delicious. Loved that they had local craft beers on the menu though I went for an Abita Purple Haze. No room for dessert, but we took a piece of bread pudding home for tomorrow. The owner is so friendly and sweet as well- so glad that this cool little restaurant is nearby! read more

Cajun penne pasta special was not the best, shrimp in it was good, the chicken tasted weird. Gater bites were delicious and fried chicken sandwich was excellent and HUGE. Service was very good, drinks were refilled promptly and didn't feel rushed. Parking lot is a little cramped and the building resembled an older house. My husband and I stopped for dinner last week at Cooyon's. Our server, Patricia, was wonderful. We ordered Shrimp and Grits and Barbecued shrimp and Boudin balls. The food was wonderful and all of it was served hot. Patricia checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we had what we needed. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was really good. Cooyon's opened in January 2018 to much anticipation. We had been watching for a few months as they renovated their building, ordered equipment and trained staff. When they finally opened the doors for a training week, the hype did not disappoint! The food is all scratch made every day. It's spicy enough for my husband, but not too spicy for me. It's hard to hit that sweet spot with folks this far north of New Orleans. They use the real deal bread from Leidenheimer Baking Co in New Orleans. We enjoyed crab cakes, boudin balls with spicy remoulade, shrimp creole, shrimp and grits, and bread pudding with vanilla cream sauce. Every dish we saw come out of the kitchen looked very tasty. Portions are a good size and prices are reasonable. While they are working out the kinks and training staff, they are only open for dinner service. Owners and staff are super friendly. We look forward to adding this place to our rotation of good eats places in the Twin Lakes area. read more

This is some of the most flavorful food in the area. If your looking for some thing different than burgers, and the typical catfish local give Cooyon's a try. I had crab cakes, a bit salty, but so much flavor, my husband had fried shrimp, said best fried shrimp he had ever had. We each had a side of fried okra, absolutely excellent. My side of potato salad was ordinary, but good and fresh. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. A cute little homey dinning room. We will definitely be going back. It has been 11j months since dining here. The food quality has changed drastically. We order the gumbo & cheese shrimp grits again. The grits tasted instant out of package, there were large chunks of onions, tomatoes & red sauce smallest shrimp ever seen & just a sprinkle of cheese. Couldn't eat but 1/2 of it. The gumbo was cold vegetable soup. We gas 2 waters & the bill totaled $29.00. Not a come back. read more

Your wouldn't think it is much of a restaurant from the exterior but believe me it's more then that. I was not sure what to expect from a Louisiana themed restaurant in Mountain Home, Arkansas. When We walked in the atmosphere was nice, clean but a little small. When we were given the menu, we noted they had a great variety. I played it safe and ordered Jambalaya the Atufé. Both were excellent. Everyone in our party were happy with their meal and we all agreed that when we are back in town, this is a spot we need to visit again. This is a great little restaurant with plenty of charm. If it's the weekend you will probably have to reserve a table, but it's worth the wait if you don't. They've got the best Muffalata north of New Orleans and their Alligator Tail is amazing! I wasn't a huge fan of their Fried Catfish, but it might have just been an off night in the kitchen. The crawfish e'toufee was outstanding. The atmosphere is very casual, and the waitress worked very hard to serve us. I would give the place 5 stars, but it took an hour to get our food.
