Great vibe, not loud but a good conversation space. The service was always great (went 3 times). You get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to sushi. All you can eat is 37 until 3 the. 47 after 3. Each roll Is 15-17 do if you have an appetite this is your spot. The rolls were super good but the start of the show is that loaf of sourdough. Give me three of those. I recommend this place.
Big shout out to Jackie T. Great service- thank you. This is a beautiful restaurant and, unlike most restaurants in casinos , close to the door and parking lot so you don't have to wander around for half an hour to find it. I LOVE that. I'm allergic to shellfish but they have lots of fish choices too. For some reason I got a new York steak and am so happy- steak makes great leftovers. Good sautéed veggies that were not mushy - yay. I'll definitely be back.
What a stunning ocean theme seafood-sushi restaurant! We went for the AYCE sushi lunch $37. We definitely got our sushi fix and the options were nice mix of appetizers, nigiri and rolls. Our favs were the pork pot stickers, baked mussel, Donald Duck short roll, but everything tasted fresh and delicious. There was just one roll that was overly spicy called the James. Service was good but did take quite a while between ordering items. Would recommend.
Due to construction in their parking lot and limited parking, we decided to dine here instead of leaving and risk not having somewhere to park upon our return. It was a Friday evening and everywhere was busy. We came by a little after 8pm and was quoted a 30-40 min wait time and I opted to be on their waitlist. Lucky for us, our wait was more like 15-20 minutes. The interior is bright & modern with 2 large screens on opposite sides that display travel destinations and locations. Seating was either in booths, at the bar, or tables with chairs. The noise level in here gets pretty loud due to the acoustics. We were seated and given menus on tablets. Water was given pretty quickly but the bread took a tad longer. Our waitress was friendly, explained the menu to us, and answered any questions we had (despite her being busy). My only critique re their AYCE is that it has one price for adults only. They don't have a separate price for children. She also kindly told me that their portions were big, so that was very helpful. I have not dined here in a number of years and their portions prior used to be smaller. Items ordered: 2x cup of clam chowder- Good flavor and plenty of clams Fish and Chips- Delicious, perfectly seasoned and battered and not dry! One of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time and it was a very pleasant surprise. Shrimp scampi- Delicious generous portion of pasta and shrimp. Chef's Mixed Grill- Loved the presentation and flavors of veggies and protein. The couscous had way too much parmesan and was literally stuck together. Def did not enjoy that texture or taste of the couscous. California Roll- I love that this roll has real crab and tastes so much better than the Ca rolls made with imitation crab. Chocolate ice cream- Always a fun treat for kiddo Thanks for the lovely dinner and atmosphere.
Love fish and chips, but their platter with the fried oyster and shrimp sets it off. Pair it with a good beverage and have a seat watching the screen of the world's images or having a good dinner companion makes this an excellent experience. Expensive Busy Sometimes order mishaps occur, but all in all an enjoyable dining experience. I have seen the Peppermills decor changes over 20+ years. The Océano is one of the best of their restaurants.
The service here is great albeit slow. There are lots of servers and lots of hungry people. I prefer smaller traditional Japanese ambiance establishments. Yet. They do a great job. Great greet. Friendly staff. I appreciate a quick bow and smile from the sushi chef. It's the little things. I ordered a traditional cold served unfiltered saki. I requested it heated hot. Often this option isn't available They were happy to oblige, and i got a piping hot sake, which warmed my cold hands from a chili walk outside in the snow Nothing beats cuddling with your hands a hot carafe of hot sake to warm your bones I thought the seaweed salad was a bit boring. It was like everywhere everywhere else, dull. They could do better. On the other hand, I ordered the king salmon Expectations were exceeded in that the salmon was cooked perfectly quite juicy, and it was a sizable slab of flesh I appreciated the fact that the chef didn't ruin the fish with sauces and syrup or flavoring is he just left the fish virgin for me to enjoy It's delicate flavor Six stars for that I'd come back here over and over just for their seafood if it's cooked this way Why only four stars then? I've had their sushi and rolls and I found them quite uninventive and the ambience is very American rather than traditional Japanese But I will come here again and again for their fish entrées. I'll probably try the halibut next.
Visited: 10-5-25 I didn't have the Sushi so I can't comment on that this time. I did order the Chicken Scaloppini piccata and the Chef's Mixed Grille. The chicken piccata was great!! it also came with mushrooms that made every bite enjoyable. Rich creamy sauce with thin crispy pieces of panko chicken. I probably wouldn't order the Chefs Mixed Grilled again (Contains: Prawn, Halibut, Salmon, Sea Bass). You get a nice size portion of each fish and I'm no stranger to these three choices. For whatever reason the grilled fish had an extremely fishy taste (probably old) which made it not enjoyable at all. The only thing edible was the prawn and you only get 1. I would definitely be back, staff are really nice and consistent and the restaurants decor is beautiful (everything in Peppermill is ;). I enjoyed this lunch date minus the Mixed Grille.....
This is mine and my husband's favorite all you can eat sushi place in Reno. Their Nigiri pieces are generous and fresh and that's typically what we order at all you can eat sushi. Tonight we had probably the best service we've ever had here, our waitress was very attentive and professional. The manager even stopped by to see how things were. I got a pineapple margarita which is always delicious, and my husband got a half bottle of sake which the waitress recommended.
This review is defective ONLY for the a la cart sushi, tgat is tge only thing I keep coming back for:) there are many AYCE sushi establishments in reno..so.e better than othets.... but... nothing in Nevada comes clise to these two a la cart rolls.... "Lobster rock" and "Dragon", these are grade A++ quality and huge, I can barely finish one of these in a sitting;)

Although we arrived a bit late, almostb9 pm, we appreciated that the staff welcomed us though they advised we might need to rush the orders a little. Our souls kids love the sushi all you can eat deal, so our gang of 6 took it. Our server promptly brought us drinks and food. To be honest, I was skeptical with sushi all you can eat, but once the food arrived, my concerns disappeared. Just looking at the ginger and wasabi tray, I could predict that it would be delicious and fresh. We couldn't believe that we ate everything including an extra bowl of clam chowder and a few scoops of Greenpeace ice cream. Hotel food is usually boring, but not at the Peppermill. First time trying this dish and it was absolutely worth it The couscous was perfectly creamy, the vegetables were fresh and beautifully buttered, and the swordfish, salmon, and shrimp originally came out grilled. The first attempt was just a little on the dry side, but what impressed me most was how quickly and professionally they fixed it. The second version came out SPECTACULAR The fish was soft, juicy, and full of flavor almost poached style with a light lemon cream and white wine sauce that tied everything together perfectly They also serve incredible in-house made sourdough bread with house-made butter, and honestly... their sourdough and clam chowder rival some of the best I've had in San Francisco. Service was perfect from beginning to end, and the beautiful ambiance with Hawaiian seascapes playing across the large TV screens made the whole experience feel relaxing and upscale at the same time. One of those meals that feels elegant while still being total comfort food 10/10 for making it right and delivering such a great dining experience. read more

We like coming here for the AYCE sushi, but their menu is extensive with plenty of options for everyone. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is big with private room if needed, lots of tables, booths, sushi bar, and a front bar as well. Nice and bright inside with two huge screens showing rotating pictures and videos of scenic areas around the world. read more
I don't frequent this place enough. It hits high marks on all of my "wants to go well" categories! We had a group of eight and not one thing disappointed anyone. Our waiter "Jaxon" was as perfect as could possible be. Food was pretty darn spectacular. The halibut that was served to my seat mate was an impressively large cut which surprised us. Not sure why, but it was beautifully larger than expected and beautifully prepared. My go to here is the Dungeness Crab salad and it was fab. I ordered extra crab but that was simply decadent. It would have been a hit with the regular amount of crab traditionally served. That being said, the ambiance is equally as amazing here. We're all Travellers and the whole evening was rubber necking from one big screen to the next being titillated with views of which many. One or more had been to. Others we plotted how and when we should go. They managed our table to everyone delight and fun was had! Bravo read more

Went here for my birthday lunch. OMG! This all you can eat sushi is pricey bit worth every penny.Very clean and classy joint. Service was top notch and our waitress was very attentive and surprised me with a slice of birthday cake while singing Happy birthday to me and my brother who share birthdays 3 days apart. If you never been, dont sleep on this one folks. You will not be disappointed read more
Second time here. We always book a stay at the Peppermill after leaving Burning Man. Its always our first stop to get our first hot shower and big meal and Oceano never disappoints with the huge portions! Service is always impeccable! read more
This top sushi/fish restaurant knocks it out of the park, even for non-fish dishes. The korean short ribs were phenomenal. The tangy SF style sourdough made in-house is among best in area. The Peppermill is light years ahead in quality of any rival casino/hotel in Reno/Sparks/Tahoe region. They invest $$$ heavily into their property and its employees - and it shows. read more

Oceano This is a review for my dining experience at Oceano Restaurant for lunch. LOCATION: It is located in the Peppermill Casino. SERVICE: -We did not have a reservation, but we were seated right away. (Yay!) -They have booths and tables available. -We were seated at a booth. It was comfortable and spacious. -The servers were kind DECOR I must compliment the decor! It's very appealing and once you set foot in the restaurant you feel like you are really in the water enjoying the many wonders of the sea. The hints of blue all around and the pearl whites on the wall make you feel like you are in the center of the ocean and sand. Very beautiful! MENU -They offer AYCE sushi and a la carte items -We opted for the AYCE lunch menu AYCE Lunch $35 11am-3pm AYCE Dinner $45 3pm-10pm You are allowed 4 sushi items at a time APPETIZERS They have bread and butter if you'd like for the table ****CLAM CHOWDER I highly recommend the clam chowder! There are huge chunks of clams and potatoes. The creaminess from the soup was so delicious! ****BAKED MUSSELS: come as a pair, baked with a creamy sauce to them, large and scrumptious. We ordered three sets of these with absolutely no regrets! So good! -Seaweed Salad -Miso Soup SUSHI-ALL AMAZING Mickey Mouse James Mango Roll The Royal Flush Temptation Spider Hand-roll Everything is fresh and made to order :) DESSERT Every person gets a scoop of one of their gelato selections -vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, green tea -Very decadent and a nice treat for the end of your meal All in all I enjoyed my dining experience at Oceano! 2/02/25- I realize after being out of town (and in two different states- I miss going to our regular sushi spot- Where can you go for options of either sushi- seafood or American...all in one restaurant- Best of both worlds, when you are undecided.. Came here for lunch with my Mother-in-law for all you can eat sushi. Everything was very good. The fish was fresh and all the rolls I picked were flavorful. I had an espresso martini and it was made very well. The service was great, good timing on the delivery of the rolls. Oceano decor is very nice and I love to watch the rotating pictures of scenes from around the world. read more

The food was outstanding. My wife ordered a sushi roll, and I ordered pork ramen. It was outstanding. We ordered chilled jumbo prawns as our starter. Fast service. We didn't go without the whole time we dined. Definitely will go back! read more
Came here with a group of about of about 17 people, and they seated us at one long table. The servers were quick to reach guests and ask for drink orders upon arrival. We also had 4 birthday celebrants and each of them were given a cake with candle which was super nice and thoughtful. Definitely worth recommending to any large parties looking for a place to gather. read more
The ambiance is clean and classy,,, feels upscale. This is a spot that feels right for a special occasion or date night. I appreciated that it is right by the entrance of the back parking lot so there's no need to navigate the casino to get to dinner! Also big tip, make sure someone at your table has a player card if you are local to secure a big locals discount! Met for a girls night out with the mission of AYCE sushi and Oceano did not disappoint! Good appetizers... although they start off the meal by putting delicious warm bread and butter in front of you... she's a temptress! I had one taste and it took some real self control to not keep eating it... as I had valuable stomach real-estate to save for some rolls!! Don't let her get you! the baked mussels were good but too coveted in sriracha in my opinion. I wouldn't get those again. All the rolls were delicious but none really stood out too much as impressing me with a unique flavor as my favorite sushi spot. Some favorites of the night were the Oceano, San Francisco, and Temptation. They give you iPads for menus and although cool i found kind of cumbersome for trying to keep on the table along with our sushi spread. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating to splitting our bill and checking in on us. Sushi service had a quick turn-around despite it being a busy Saturday night. I would definitely revisit this spot if I want a fancier night out with good sushi. read more

Upon visiting my condominium in Reno, I found myself craving the sushi at Oceano! I've had their all-you-can eat before and it really never disappoints! However today was extremely exceptional! From the moment I arrived I was greeted by a warm staff member who engaged in conversation while taking me to my seat. I was given the option of booth or table and I chose a booth...very comfortable seats and a nice view of the dining room and sushi bar. I once again went with the all-you-can eat and my server immediately brought me water and introduced himself as Alex. He was friendly, cordial, polite and professional. Upon letting him know my dining option he brought me a sushi list to fill out and fill it out I did...nigiri yellowtail tuna, ahi tuna, baked mussels, ikura(salmon roe) tobiko with quail egg, ika(squid) and two hand rolls, which were outstanding and expertly prepared (spicy tuna and crystal shrimp). Also included were a choice of appetizers which I chose a seaweed salad and fried lumpia. I've probably had this meal maybe a dozen times but today felt extra special, all the sushi was prepared perfectly and delicious so I had to get the chefs to take a photo together! The dinner concluded with a green tea gelato that was both refreshing and delicious! This is an all-you-can eat that dreams are made of! I highly recommend it! read more

Juan, although Oceano does offer "All You can Eat" Sushi, The Peppermill does not have a buffet.

Yes it does have soy paper. It must be requested. But I don't know if there's an extra charge.

There isn't much there that isn't good! There are different ways of making it, so it all depends on your taste though.
