Mac N cheese......
Valarie P.

Went on a Sunday. Waited in line for 20ish minutes to get checked in then seated. Service is good and polite. Not fast, but good. I ran out of water twice. They had very little fresh fruit to choose from. They had cantaloupe, pineapple, oranges, and apples but the apples and oranges you had to peel and cut yourself. Stay away from the Mac N cheese. Looks great, but Kraft Mac N cheese has more flavor. Tried the steak, it had flavor but it was tough. All the seafood had flavor but was overcooked so it was dried out. The crawfish were the only seafood that was not over cooked. The dessert bar was ok. I had a brownie and 3 different Gelatos. Vanilla, coffee and chocolate. All of those were good. For the price, not worth it in my opinion unless you do purely seafood and expect quantity over quality.

Great assortment and selection of good quality food. The prime rib is amazing!! Lots of great seafood choices especially the snow crab legs. It's a customer favorite. The servers are friendly and helpful. The wait to get in is long. Just be prepared to wait about 30 minutes or more before you are seated.

Pho station

We stopped by for Sunday dinner. It was busy but we were seated within 5 mins. We got lucky and scored one free adult meal since someone had a free voucher that was given to the next customer, which happened to be us! I was blown away and slightly overwhelmed by how big this buffet was. There were so many options and different cuisines to choose from! We tried a bit from each station and the food was decent but one complaint I would have is that everything was really salty. One place that stood out to me was the pho station. I had no expectations and didn't think it would be as authentic as Vietnamese restaurants. However, it was pretty legit in my opinion! It had a good flavored beef broth. The rice noodles were cooked perfectly, al dente and not soggy. It's basically a DIY pho bar. The sever working the station was pretty rude though. I was a bit confused on how to place the order and instead of helping me, she gave me an attitude. The staff comes by regularly to take away any empty/dirty plates. I highly recommend checking this place out. Definitely come hungry!

There was a wide variety of food, mostly fried though. Chilaquiles was something new though. I was surprised to see such a large variety of sugar free desserts. That also seemed newer. You could definitely taste it was sugar free and the lemon pie didn't really taste like lemon. Coffee gelato is always good. Our waitress struggled with our drinks. She was getting extra drinks than what we ordered, and it took me multiple times just to ask for a water. They did help us put tables together but some people in our group didn't have enough space so they had to sit behind us. It was okay for being so expensive. If it wasn't for the price I'd love to come more.

Just visited Toucan Charlie's Buffett at the Atlantis casino Reno. The hotel has easy parking out front and the hotel itself is quite nice! We paid $37 for weekday brunch and enjoyed all the stations especially the shrimp Alfredo and coconut gelato. Our server was kind and attentive as well. The restaurant overall is clean, modern and spacious. 4/5 because some meats were a bit dry

Friendly staff and wide variety of food. The food cooks fresh was better quality and tasted good like the Mongolia grill and prime rib. But the other prepared foods were very hit or miss with quality, taste and temperature- the biggest quality issue being the meat/cheese table having old, crusting cheese and visibly molded cheese sitting out. The dessert area was the biggest hit, with gelato and cotton candy for the kids.

Ambiance: busy and casual Service: attentive I went on a Saturday around 6pm and waited roughly 45 mins and it was about $70pp after tip and tax Food: Oysters: hit or miss, but mostly a miss the day I went. bad after taste Snow crab legs: super fresh and slightly sweet. a bit over cooked tho. Prime rib- pretty good for buffet standards Mini crunchy tacos- solid and love the toppings they have Pho- if you're craving a bowl of soup noodles, it'll be satisfying I was too full to try anything else, but they had a salad bar, bagels, lox, charcuterie, chinese food, cooked seafood, pasta, pizza, and dessert. I would come back to this buffet everytime I'm in the area~

The buffet is good at Atlantis. They have plenty of food selections to offer. They have a Mongolian station where you can prepare your veggies, sauces and meats for the chef to cook in front of you. The Pho station is good too... although the broth is a bit salty. Their beef balls are flavorful. One of my favorite desserts is the freshly made COTTON CANDY! YUM!

It was an unremarkable buffet experience; and very expensive at $60.99 per person. Because of the volume of riders on Father's Day, corners were too tight and uncomfortable. The bus staff were cordial and effective in cleaning up plates and bowls, but table service was substandard and the food wasn't up to scratch value.

We had breakfast/lunch at Toucan Charlie's Buffet. When we arrived at the restaurant; there weren't that many people in queue but once we walked in to the restaurant, there was a large group (a girls basketball team) dining in the back corner plus a cluster of little groups all throughout the back part of the restaurant. Our server, Maria, checked in to take our drink orders as the rest of our party slowly made their way to the buffet. The buffet offered a variety of different hot and cold dishes, a mixture of breakfast and lunch selections. Everyone in our party was able to get something they liked and at our fill. Service was was excellent, Maria and her associates were very pleasant and attentive, the huge selection of food was great, most of the food tasted delicious (the prime rib was a little tough), the buffet was a little pricier than most sit-down restaurant options but you get a huge variety of dishes to choose from and eat as much as you, it's kind of worth it. My only critique was that the restaurant was so overcrowded, we were bumping into other customers when we moved our seats or other customers were running into our chairs as they walk to and from their tables, but other than that, our dining experience was reasonably good and we look forward to our next vi

Background On Visit: Knowing that we were going to be flying into Reno International Airport, I made it a point that we needed to go to a buffet. Looked on their yelp page and thought to myself that this place would be the place to binge eat/drink. We went for the steak & seafood dinner gourmet buffet on Saturday. Toucan Charlie's Offerings: Voted the Best Gourmet Buffet in Reno, Toucan Charlie's Gourmet Buffet & Grille offers a vast array of mouth-watering dishes that cater to every craving. With six live-action stations, including Sauté & Grille, Carvery, Charcuterie, Far East, Pho, Sea Fare, Southwest and Specialty Made-to-Order Salads, and Dessert Island, complete with nine flavors of house-made gelato and cotton candy. From savory to sweet desserts the Toucan Charlie's Gourmet Buffet & Grille will leave you full and satisfied. Price Point: Reasonable. Just remember that during holiday season, you'll be charged higher ($65.99) than regular price ($58.99). You can see their prices on their website: https://atlantiscasino.com/dining/casual-dining/tcb . Restrooms: No restrooms in the restaurant. You'll have to use the restroom in the casino. Closest restroom would be going up stairs. Wait Time: Wait time can be long depending when you join the waiting queue. Our wait was little over an hour. If you more than one person in your group, take turns and walk around casino. This will make your wait look a little shorter. Location/Parking: Located inside the Atlantis Casino. Parking can be easily found Ambiance/Decor: Pretty cool ambiance with modern furnishings. Service: Service was good. The main staffer that was assigned to our table kept on refilling my diet coke. Every time I left and came back, there was another diet coke waiting for me. I probably had 6 or 7 refills that night. She was great. At times, there were other staffers that were waiting for you to finish so they can take your plate away. Felt a little weirded out, but it was effective. Buffet Items Of Choice: 1) Crab Legs: Definitely eat many crab legs. Very fresh and go for the ones that are pre- cracked so they're easy to eat. The staffer will also provide you a crab leg cracker and a tin to put your shells in. 2) Pho Station: Pho broth was actually good. Had some worries prior to trying, but all the worries were gone after taking many sips of the broth. Selection of protein and noodles was decent. First time seeing a pho station at buffet. That's genius! 3) Prime Rib: It was okay. Some parts of the prime rib was overcooked and over seasoned. 4) Salmon: Salmon was good. I probably think I had about 3 or 4 pieces 5) Salad: Good, but probably ask them to put the dressing on the side. 6) Broiled Steaks was tasty. 7) Dessert Bar was okay. I didn't feel guilty eating a oreo cheesecake slice. :) Toucan Charlie Buffet and Grille For Thought: With a decent amount of choices to eat, you might feel a little overwhelmed. Your eyes might be bigger than your stomach. So keep cool, take deep breathes, and have a grand ol' time stuffing your face.

Action shot! They keep it clean here!
Joyce W.

For Reno, this still seems to be the best buffet as far as quality, variety and value. Really friendly chefs that prepare your serving dishes like prime rib, Mongolian BBQ, Pho, custom salads and more. Servers are always friendly. I adore the cutely dressed dessert server outfits at the dessert station. I noticed while enjoying both the lunch and dinner buffet, they have more bus workers keeping the dishes from piling up. I appreciate this improvement. I have to mention that they usually have an Indian curry dish or specialty item that is a tasty and nice palate surprise. I think there is something for everyone.

Toucan Charlie's Buffet & Grille Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Toucan Charlie's Buffet & Grille

Is there any seafood Monday -Thursday?

They have a seafood section all the way to the left. And they have shrimp in the salad section. But it's not like the crab and oysters on the weekend.

How much is lunch on Mondays for seniors with players card?

$35.00

What prices the lunch on Friday?

$35.99 and could cost a little less depending on if you have an Atlantis Rewards Card and what tier you are on. Also, 55 plus gets $2.00 discount w/ rewards card.

Do they serve a seafood on Sunday or Monday?

We usually go on Mondays. They have seafood then.

Is it pet friendly?

No...only service dogs are permitted.

Do they have prime rib for lunch on Monday?

Yes

How far in advance can you make reservations? I'll be up there in March and the online system doesn't indicate availability.

They don't take reservations at the buffet.

Is there a Senior discount still?

Yes for folks over 55 yo.

Do we need to make a reservation?

No. But, I think it's better to have a reservation and get in closer to the time you want. Then, to wait for a long time in line.

Can someone confirm if Toucan Charlie's offers a free buffet for your birthday in 2024?

Don't know.. but.. if your at the highest level on your players card u may have a comp meal

How much is the weekday dinner buffet per person?

look it up on Yelp

Do they serve seafood for weekend brunch?

Yes. It is also more expensive.

I made a reservation at 830p for their Seafood dinner buffet which was the only option for dinner. I checked 3 months ahead if this was the case, the only option it offers, is 8p, 815p, and 830p. What gives? Do they not offer 5p, 6p, 7p?

This is the best buffet around, as well as the most popular. They do offer reservations at all times, it's just that specific times on specific days are booked more often than others due to the "type" of food offered. Those times are reserved FAR in…

Is there Crabs and other seafood on Weekdays dinner hour?

There is a lot of seafood but it changes day-to-day. Crab is not always available due to the price these days. but if you really want the seafood feast I suggest you try Friday night. it's pricey but they have every kind of seafood you could imagine.

Does Toucan Charlie's buffet serving crab in weekend brunch?

Yes they do

Is crab a part of the lunch menu on Fridays?

No, not till dinner when the price goes up.

Do they have a sushi/sashimi section in the buffet?

No...no sushi or sashimi that I've ever seen there no matter what day or time of day I've ever been...

What are your weekday lunch offerings? Is there seafood on the lunch buffet?

If they don't have it, you don't need it. It is the largest buffet in Reno

What champagne is served for Sat/Sun champagne brunch at Atlantis Toucan Charlie's?

It is the same for years. Starts with W. It is a dry one. Unique to this place.

Does seafood night comes with meat choices or just seafood? And does it come with all the desserts and everything just like if it was a Saturday night?

Yes it al meat choices
