Today I was at Copenhagen Imports looking for some lacquered paintings you can put in the bathroom and not have them warp out. Also, it would have been great if we could find a painting that was abstract. Both the hubs and I like abstract paintings. Well, I meandered through the store looking for abstract lacquered paintings. I did not see any paintings that met my criteria. Snappity snap snap...I spotted some figurines that I fell in love with. There was no price on the one I was looking at, which is because they came in a set. Therefore, I scooped them up...even better deal than I initially envisioned. While I was at Copenhagen, I also picked some handmade Danish ornaments that were on sale for 70% off. I also contemplated purchasing this little lighted house...it was only 50% off. They used to be good. Not anymore! I bought a sectional for close to $10K that makes cracking noises - liked the bottom frame is going to split or something. And it already slouches, after less than a year. They picked up different sections three times and "fixed" them. One of the workers turned the couch to its side and scraped the leather. They had a specialist fix that, more or less. But the sectional itself is still not okay. Now they tell me there is nothing else they can do for me. Way to stand behind your product?? I also bought a leather queen bed. They also came out twice to fix something. It never worked properly, until I moved and the movers put it back together in my new place. But there are still some bolts sticking out that cut my knuckles every time I change the sheets. I would NEVER buy from them again!! read more

Worst customer service you can imagine!! I went in and started asking prices, and the woman treated me like I was trash and could not afford anything. I distinctly ask her on the sofa that I was sitting on if they made it a three piece what would be the price and she said well it just depends how you configure figure it. We went there for recliner's and a sofa and was told right to our faces that we would have our recliner's "SOONER THAN LATER" lie, lie, lie! And the salesperson Jenny told us that we would for sure have them much sooner than later and she knew how desperate we were to get them! We also purchased a sofa and was told that it would be 4-6 mos! Not so much of an issue but I would bet the money we spent on the whole entire purchase, that we won't see the sofa sooner than later either!! We are very disappointed in the way they handled our expensive purchase and believe us when we tell you, even the manager Bard doesn't care about ours or your experience and has NO CLUE what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS!!!!! Lots of unique pieces with more personality than some of the big box stores (e.g. Restoration, Design Within Reach, etc). An interesting mix of MCM, 80s/90s colors and styles, and also some contemporary art/glass pieces. They had a good mix of quality furniture with well-known brands, a few lesser-known/not as mainstream brands, and a few items that seemed more affordable. They also had a sale section along with select pieces that go on "sale" for a period of time. I really liked one dining table in particular, but it was too wide for my space. We were looking for a sofa and received pleasant help from Mark to help us decide which color was best for us. He was helpful in getting us an idea of color options and inventory promptly (emailed the next day), and also polite and pleasant when we took time to think about it and make sure it measured our space. Super welcoming, non-pressuring, and only provided info (e.g. delivery, warranty, etc) once we were ready and when we needed it! I'd definitely visit again if looking for a unique piece. I was hoping this would be like IKEA, but without the labyrinth. Alas, it's nothing like IKEA. The price tags concerned me. A lamp for $300! That's about the cheapest thing you can find in this store. You can get 3 or 4 pieces of furniture on Wayfair for the cost of a lamp here. I was hoping I could buy my working class mother a gift certificate here for Mother's Day, but a gift certificate would cause her to spend too much money here. I prefer mid-range furniture, not this expensive stuff. So Copenhagen Imports probably doesn't consider me their target audience. Not what I was hoping it would be. read more

Finally a furniture store in Austin that make sense. That is if you can afford it. This is by any means not a place for a cheap furniture, they have pretty good selection of Italian furniture. Gamma is gone since people just do not want to pay $15000 for a sectional however they filled the collection with pieces of reasonable quality in the price range between $2000 - $7000 for a corner sectional. Clean, nicely organized, creative. Staff is very accommodating but maybe just a bit dry especially considering the $$$. But if your in the market for a modern comfort this is a place to be. Bought few recliners, coming back again. They also have a cool 7 day no questions return policy. read more

I bought a sofa here last year. It is fabulous and my purchasing experience was good save for one major annoyance (I'll get to that in a bit). Recently, I thought the reclining mechanism on the sofa was malfunctioning, and the shop was very responsive in scheduling a service call under the 5-year warranty. I was able to resolve the issue myself and canceled the call, but I think Copenhagen deserves a good word here for their quick responsiveness on taking care of an item sold last year. The annoyance in my original purchase experience is this: The sofa cost more than my credit and debit card limits, combined. So I wrote a check. They have some verification mechanism for checks, and mine was not approved. Of course they couldn't say why - just "no." I certainly haven't had a check bounce in many, many years, and never any that went unpaid. There's no reason they shouldn't have accepted the check, regardless: The purchase wouldn't be delivered for two weeks, which is plenty of time for a check to clear. I had to go to my bank and return with a stack of cash to get the transaction done. They were pleasant about the whole thing, but it was total BS. I was tempted to walk away with a "well, if you don't want my business" remark, but the sofa was head-and-shoulders above anything else I'd found elsewhere. A year later and I'm happy with my purchase and pleased with the responsiveness on the warranty service issue. Cheers! read more

There are so many luxurious selections to choose from so it was very difficult to make a decision. Finally after 4 weeks I made a decision and two weeks later my sectional was delivered. Mark provided exceptional customer service. He is professional and did not pressure me to make a decision. He provided time frames for special orders and available color options. I went here during my stay in Texas with my sister. This is a late post. My sister and her familia got herself a new house and we were excited to spark some interior designing ideas. This place is not cheap but it doesn't fail to convince you as to why it isn't. The quality is high end and theres bound to be designs you'll fall in love with. Alot of modern furniture designs, lots of simplistics styles. My sister wanted furniture that wasn't too bulky and took up too much space and most of their goods are sleek looking. If you want world class furniture, then check this place out. We bought a Symphony leather sectional from here several years ago. Initially it had a minor issue with the leather slightly flaking in one area (barely noticeable). We submitted a warranty claim and although it took a while, they came and verified the claim and replaced that portion of the sectional with a new one. Since then, our 2 year old son has continually abused the sectional, including jumping on it regularly like it's a trampoline. The couch has held up phenomenally. The stitches have held together and there has been no degradation in quality despite his jumping all over the couch aggressively. So I would highly recommend the furniture for the quality. You do get what you pay for! read more

For such a nice store and seeing how another couple and myself were the only people in the store, I would've expected much better service. I saw some workers at the front desk and when they saw me I was not acknowledged at all. After about 10-15 mins or so, a woman approached me if I needed any help but she couldn't have been less friendly. When I said I was just browsing, she just turned and walked away without saying another word.
