This gelato is simply delicious. The owner traveled to Italy to perfect her craft and her daughter is a professionally trained gourmet baker. It's real gelato, not an Americanized version of it because of the attention to detail and the hands on extensive training the owner experienced while living in Italy. They couldn't be any nicer when you come in the store and you can sample as many flavors as you want before you decide. This is what Jeni's was attempting (but failed) to do with her ice cream ... a trendy, unique place that serves something different AND delicious. My new favorite place to grab a quick treat. The place is cute and the employees are always helpful. The gelato is the best I've had and they always have a good selection of flavors. I've tried a few so far and the amarena cherry and spumoni are my favorites. My husband loves their salty caramel. The lemon sorbetto is also delicious. I also tried their cannoli. They have convenient prepackaged gelato incase you just want to come in and grab some on your way home. I got the pistachio, it wasn't overly sweet with a rich buttery taste. Just what was needed in the area! Italian Gelato shop located in the plaza next to the Meijer in Westerville. This is family owned, the family is typically working there and are generous with the Gelato samples. They have a Gelato bomb, my favorite, which is a warm donut filled with your choice of Gelato. The donut and Gelato are made from scratch. I've also enjoyed the coconut macaroons and tea lattes made with almond milk. The sorbets are a good option if you are dairy free. Well this place clearly has new owners. We haven't been here in a while. We walked in and the vibe was immediately different. This used to be such a welcoming place. Now it seems very bare and uninviting. The portions are smaller and the gelato melted immediately. You don't get a fun cookie thing in your cup anymore and they no longer offer free water. I can't justify $40+ for 2 kids and 2 adults to eat melting subpar gelato. All good things must end I guess. But what a bummer of a lose for the community. read more

If you're not already in the car and on your way to this gelato shop, please rectify that ASAP. Seriously. It's that good. I'm usually disappointed in gelato shops. I'm usually disappointed with ice cream shops altogether, actually (spoiled by Jeni, of course), but I've especially always had bad luck with gelato shops. Coppa Gelato finally broke that streak. I tried three flavors, and each flavor I had was fabulous in both flavor and texture. Hazelnut: I only sampled the hazelnut, but it actually tasted like hazelnuts. It tasted like Nutella without chocolate. I've had hazelnut gelato many times before that barely tasted like anything, so I enjoyed the intense flavor of theirs. Pistachio: Another intense nut flavor. I think they said that they import that pistachios from Sicily; the quality shows. It's the best pistachio frozen dessert that I've ever had. Lemon Sorbetto: OMG. Not only is the flavor of this one amazing (it's super tart), but IT IS SO CREAMY. I have never had a sorbetto with texture that good before. The texture was silky, not at all icy. The service was great, and their shop and display were adorable. I wanted to eat every flavor in the case and take more home with me (and I think I would have if I'd been going straight home). Customer amenities were thoughtfully provided; they had chilled water you could serve yourself (which I like, because it means I don't have to wait in line or bother anybody if I need water) and they had moist towelettes, which rocked, because I totally needed one. I hate being sticky with the fire of a thousand suns, and Coppa Gelato had me covered. If Coppa Gelato maintains the high standards that we saw today, they're going to be a mega-hit and I'm going to have to find excuses to drive up there. (Who am I kidding? Omg I am in love with this place! In Westerville there are many excellent ice cream establishments to choose from but coppa gelato is my current favorite. The gelato is so creamy and tastes so fresh. I am a lover of more simple flavor so I always get their vanilla and I love their cookies and cream flavor. I had their watermelon sorbet before as well and it tasted the closest to fresh watermelon as I've ever had in a sorbet. And the sorbet still manages to taste creamy! I've also had the milk chocolate ice cream before when they had run out of cookies and cream. I'm not usually a chocolate person but their chocolate wowed me. They do often run out of popular flavors, but then they put new flavors out they didn't have out before. So you do have to come with an open mind, if you are looking for something specific you may be disappointed. I've def been bummed out before when I came and they didn't have any vanilla left. Just get lots of samples and you will find something delicious. Needless to say I visit this place as often as possible. It's often busy and they are closed on Mondays! There is very limited seating inside but there are tables and benches outside. I can't wait to see what flavors they will have in store for us this fall! read more

We've been coming here for about 6 months and have been consistently buying about 5 pints or more every 2 weeks. We just walked in and got 7 pints out of the fridge and got yelled at by the employee for getting the ice cream myself. She left everyone in the store stunned due to her tone and rudeness. The couple standing next to us, said "if that's the case, you should put a sign". The sign happens to be next to the cash register, on the other side of the store. So other than the customer service being sub-par.. The gelato was pretty good but I highly doubt I will drive that far for that experience again..I would have given this 4 stars based on the product being tasty but I don't feel below average customer service deserves 4 stars.. Went in for the first time this afternoon, and it certainly won't be our last! Staff was incredibly friendly and was happy to let us sample anything and everything. We ended up going with a gelato flight of s'mores, cookies & milk, apple cinnamon crunch, and chocolate covered raspberry. All were phenomenal! We even ended up buying a pint of their dreamsicle before leaving. The store has a great atmosphere, is incredibly clean, and has plenty of seating. They even have coffee! I drove by this place a ton of times while on the way to the local grocery store but never made it over to try out their gelato. On a summer evening a while back I decided to spontaneously take my wife out for dessert and thought gelato might be nice for a change. I couldn't have been more right! Their gelato is every bit as creamy as ice cream only far less fat or calorie-intensive. They have a wide range of flavors to suite just about everyone's fancy. Some of my favorite things about Coppa's: 1) They are inexpensive compared to other gelato places. 2) They rotate most of their flavors. I tend to be the type of person who finds what they like and get the same thing every time. I have to pick a different flavor most of the time and it's always been good. There are a few things to note. They are minor annoyances if you ask me. They should not deter you from trying out this place! :) 1) They have a small parking lot and have to share with several other shops. It can be hard to find parking right in front of the store. 2) This place is very busy during the summer, especially in the evenings. I have seen a line out the door on several occasions. Be patient. The line generally moves fast. 3) There is limited seating indoors and outdoors. You might have to take the gelato home. read more

I have been a big gelato fan all my life, and have tried several different shops world wide. When you walk into this store you are engulfed with a warm atmosphere. From the decor to the presentation of the gelato and pints, everything is pristine. I was helped by one of the workers (Alycia). This employee was full of life, with a found knowledge of the product. You could tell that all the employees were passionate about their product. That they weren't just serving gelato, but serving you with something that will make you day! My husband and I have been big fans of this place since it opened. The service is always really friendly, the restaurant is clean and inviting-- it's a gelato place that feels like a coffee shop. Lovely. The gelato is always delicious, and they have lots of other fun concoctions to try (like cream puffs, cannoli, some brilliant thing called a "gelato bomb.") Recently I tried a Cocoa Float (hot chocolate poured over gelato) with amaretto gelato. It was absolute heaven. I don't have any photos of it because I was too lost in the goodness. Another fun tip, this is actually a good place to pick up a great cup of coffee. They brew local Silver Bridge Coffee caf, decaf, and espresso. It's a great place to stop for a quick cup if you don't feel like dealing with Uptown or waiting in line at Starbucks. Highly recommended. read more
