I go to Copper & Salt regularly and have sampled their breakfast, brunch and dinner menu. It's at a gorgeous location, facing the Ruston Way waterfront. The interior is modern and clean. The staff are always friendly. The food can be a little inconsistent at times, but always take feedback and makes things right. I'd say my favorite time to stop in is during breakfast. I used to always get the avocado toast but absolutely love the pork belly hash! The potatoes and pork is seasoned perfectly for a lovely hearty meal! For dinner, I def recommend the scallops! Unfortunately my review places this establishment pretty low on my list. While our server was friendly she missed out on some opportunities to be more prepared to meet our needs. We did have one gentleman come to our aid when we asked for enough utensils and napkins and I got up and found the straws myself when the server couldn't seem to bring one. The wait time between taking drink orders and food orders was extremely long and it honestly did not appear the place was to busy vs the available staff. I ordered strawberry pancakes- they were pretty heavy doughy pancakes and the restaurant failed to take advantage of fresh seasonal fruit instead opting for purée and syrup. My bad for not reading menu better. Just assumed a place of this caliber would do it right. My wife had some brioche French toast that was pretty dry in spite of syrup and butter. This is the 3rd time I've been to Copper and Salt. Start with the good! Waterfront location with 20 foot tall floor to ceiling windows for great views to looking to the North. Many window tables, but even non window tables have very good views. Service OK. We did have to wait for 15 minutes despite being on time for our reservation. Staff were friendly. Staff was to our table quickly for pre-meal beverages and water. I ordered a cocktail called Dark Brew; what I received was a Lager beer. Sent it back and 10 minutes later received a dark beer, sent it back and finally received my ordered cocktail 10 minutes after our entrees were plated and on our table. It would have been good before dinner, but did not go well with my Wild Boar Pork shank. I sent it back as well. Disappointing, but mistakes happen. Not too big a deal. Pork shank was flavorful as was the accompanying polenta. Halibut was overcooked, firm, not flakey and was not terribly flavorful or memorable. Porterhouse was ordered medium-rare, but was medium well. At this point we were trying to get through the meal and not cause more delays. For the quality and execution , this steak felt overpriced. Focaccia bread was very good. Good appetizer. Sides of crispy brussel sprouts and marbled potatoes were not good at all. Both were undercooked and had an unpleasant remaining firmness/crispness that was closer to raw than cooked. We sent both back and did not replace them. I discussed with the manager and service rescue was attempted. A complimentary dessert was delivered, a chocolate tort of some type. It was dry, hard and partially frozen. While I appreciate the effort, we tried 2 bites and left the rest. I'm not usually super critical, but the cumulative errors and poor quality kind of ruined the evening and the experience. Delecious and very hearty portions, service? Five star. I will say we didn't get any pasta dishes, so I can not comment on that portion, but our food was fantastic. One disservice to this restaurant on Yelp is the lack of good pictures. I'm fixing that by putting up our food and drinks! Everything looked and tasted amazing! Coming from the service industry, I can excuse bad service for lack of staff on a busy shift. This was not the case. I went in this evening to enjoy dinner and drinks with a friend. We sat at the bar. The bar was not busy and fully staffed with 3 bartenders! It took some time for us to receive menus and after they were given, we sat there for a long while waiting for our order to be taken. Meanwhile, a couple came in sat down next to us, received menus, glasses of water and the bartender took their order as we continued to wait. We had to flag down the bartender to place our order and once our drinks were delivered, he never checked on us after that. A lovely waitress delivered our food and that was it. No one asked if we were ok, if we wanted another beverage or water. We finally flagged down another bartender for water. It wasn't until we were finished with our meal and ready to check out that another bartender checked to see if we were ok. By then we were just ready to leave. Truly disappointing as we were planning to stay and enjoy another round of drinks and order dessert. Since we were being ignored we decided to take our business across the way to another restaurant. We were greeted as we walked up by one hostess who said they didn't have tables, so we walked away and noticed there were reservations available every 15 minutes on open table, so we asked her why they had reservations but no tables. Another hostess walked up with an attitude and told us even with a reservation we would have to wait anyway due to not having enough tables. So we decided to go to the bar to grab drinks while we waited. The second hostess came up to us a few minutes later saying our table was ready so we figured we could have our bill sent to our table but she stopped us and with an attitude said my husband had to stay to pay while I went with her to get the table. We should have just left when we first got told there were no tables but didn't. Our server made up for the rude hostess because he was absolutely amazing and friendly. I got the meatballs which were very good and my husband the octopus (which he said was the worst octopus he's ever had, said they were super rubbery and undercooked). This place has potential, with a great location on the water, and terrific views. However, the menu and food leave much to be desired. The hosts at the front had to walk a nearly empty restaurant twice to figure out where we would be seated: we had reservations. We found the menu to be quite sparse, but both ordered the beet salad. The dressing did not deliver. When you put farro in a salad, you need to dress generously. It was lacking in seasoning (ironically a bit of salt would have helped) and overall flavor. The pappardelle was meant to have short ribs and mushrooms. No short ribs were seen, loads of mushrooms. Pasta was good, but stingy on one of the ingredients. Halibut was also severely under seasoned and a bit much on some spicy oil that did not hide an unpleasant fish odor. The broccolini was undercooked, had absolutely no seasoning, and tasted like propane from a gas grill. Inedible. Waitress didn't ask me if they were ok, just if I'd like a to go box. Mine was slightly overcooked, and the beans it came with were nothing special. My husband had the lasagna and said it was a little dry and could have used more sauce and cheese. Let me say the service here is 5 stars and that's why it gets 5 stars. The bacon is done well, not rubbery. I thought the biscuits and gravy was kind of small. I'd give the biscuits and gravy 3.5 stars. The avocado toast I had a wasn't bad, I'd give it 4 stars. The coffee was 5 stars. Whatever that coffee is, I guess I should ask. So here's my biggest fault. The Bloody Mary tasted like a virgin Bloody Mary. It is definitely not worth $13. I would normally get 2 at brunch like a gentleman. But the Bloody Mary was very weak to ask the least. I'd give the Bloody Mary 2.5 stars. However, my waiter was very attentive and not annoying. He seemed to have timing down to a perfection. My jacket fell and he caught it and put it on the chair next to me. The restaurant called me because somebody left a grey sweater and they thought it was possibly me. The service here is what makes this place 5 stars. On and the VIEW when you're in a booth on a window facing the puget sound anytime of the year is 5 stars. It's a prime location. Gorgeous setting that has a lot of potential! Came in a group of six primarily for the view. Lavender cocktail was enjoyed by multiple in our party, as was the mussels. Focaccia bread was average- would have preferred a nice crusted French bread or similar to stand up to the sauce! Ordered a variety of different pasta dishes- bucatini, fiorelli, and kid's mac and cheese. The mac and cheese tasted really off- creamy without being cheesy. The bucatini was an average plate of pasta that was missing something but hard to say what exactly. The fiorelli also tasted really flat- not enough sauce and very dry, even when eating with the burrata. The food alone was a bit Olive Garden, so we wouldn't come back for that alone, but maybe in the future for another go around if the menu changes to see if the food quality/depth has improved at all. There aren't many options for non meat eaters save for pasta, and only one seafood main on the menu. Service was average. Beautifully located inside the silver cloud hotel on Point Ruston. The inside was beautifully decorated perfect for brunch with the girls, it is super photogenic. It was very busy and noisy which was not a problem for me but something to consider if you're looking for a calmer atmosphere. We started the night with fried oysters, mussels, and focaccia. The mussels and oysters were amazing. The focaccia was a little too salty. For my entre, I had the PAPPARDELLE and it was not that good it has an acquired taste. However, overall I love the scenery and atmosphere of this restaurant.
