I will not be returning to this rude restaurant While the food and cocktails are quite good the service is a real disappointment. When I sat down with friends to order this weekend and I told our waiter what we wanted and that if we were still hungry we would add something else he told us we had a time limit on our table. I have never heard that before and the friends that I brought there were shocked at this. After that our waiter barely came back to us. As they brought small plates out they took our dishes and we waited so long for them to bring us new dishes that we ate out of the serving plate. Now if there is a time limit on the table I would think that they would be quick to bring you new plates to use. At the end when we decided to not get dessert the waiter told us we had to get up. It was so rude. We hadn't even finished paying the bill yet. I was embarrassed that I brought my friends here. I will not be back, that is for sure. read more

I come here occasionally with my family. My dad is a total foodie: been to the best restaurants in the world and has a very discerning palette. He says this is the BEST steak that he has ever had. The food is amazing! The crab cakes take twenty minutes to make and are very fresh. The quesadilla is good and the shrimp and risotto dish was AMAZE balls! To die for! Every time my family has come here, we have been impressed with the impeccable service, friendly wait staff and truely superb food. We have never had one dish or drink that was not amazing. I am surprised by some negative reviews. While it is true that they do have time limits of tables, we never felt rushed. That is how you run A business. The people who are complaining are those who want to buy one to two drinks and some nachos and take up space for four hours. The reason why this restaurant is top quality is because it is efficient. Had the tuna taco app. Very good, tuna very fresh and overall we'll done. Then had the steak. Steak has a rub on it. I'm more of a steak purest, but this is a very good rub. Steak is a boneless sirloin, over all very good. Served fries which were also excellent. One issue, I had orderd the sautéed spinich as a side. The spinich was essentially raw when it arrived. Not a big deal, but it was also was not seasoned with anything at all or sautéed with anything. read more

The manager had the nerve to ask us to leave the table 10 minutes after paying the bill to accommodate a larger party, even though we still had full drinks. My wife and I have been going here since it was across the street. Many years. Food is always terrific. One of my favorite restaurants. Tequila choices and Margaritas are always great. Food is a little spicy if it's your first time. Guacamole is the best. We went here recently for dinner. It was outside dining only due to virus. The only knock we have is there was a service charge on the bill for using a credit card. Seems like the owner is pawning off the credit card fees to customers. Not common at any other restaurant I am familiar with. Hopefully they will smarten up and drop this. read more

This place is terrible. We went here for our anniversary and were completely confused on what kind of food they serve. They had sushi, Mexican food, american food, and looked like Chinese food. Their menu is only on your phone which is a good thing due to covid but when you order a drink from the menu they say they only have beer and margaritas. I ordered a margarita that was $14 that came in a small plastic cup mostly ice. I then ordered a beer off of their beer menu. The waiter didn't even know anything about the beer said it was from a local brewery down the street. He said its like Budweiser. The food was mediocre the fajitas looked like i can cook them at home. The fries and chips were good seasoned nicely. When we got our check there was a card in there saying that there will be an extra 3% charge for using a credit card. If you pay cash there is no charge. Looks like they might be going out of business and trying to hide cash from the government. There are much better places in the area to eat. Stay away form here. read more

The steak will blow your wig back. Excellent service. So many beautiful staff members. Crab Cake so thick and juicy it'll make you rethink every crab cake you've ever eaten. Margaritas will make the word "yessir" come out of your mouth on pure reflex. Lamb Chops are a wonder and I cannot forget about the Shrimp Risotto. Love eating here because you get what you pay for. Though the food is good I will never go to this restaurant again. I witnessed the manager speaking with one of the hostesses in the most unprofessional manner I have ever seen in my life. When I mentioned this to a group of friends I heard a litany of how poorly the young staff is treated here and at Gaslight. So much so that employees will simply be removed from scheduling when some one related to/or child of the owner's friend wants a job. When you treat your staff that way it is not surprising there are so many negative reviews. They are lucky they have not been investigated by the EEOC. read more

Dear Copper Canyon, Let me explain a few things to you from one restaurant veteran to another: You cannot just chop up a piece of fruit and declare it "salsa". This word "salsa" implies lime juice, hot peppers of some variety, cilantro, etc. You are not serving salsa but FRUIT COCKTAIL! Your customers are not rubes. We know a piece of chopped pineapple with nothing else in it when we are being charged for it. You haven't changed your menu in 10 years. We are so bored that I fell asleep while typing this sentence. Half the time your servers are either pretentious or they forget we're there. Whenever I get someone on the phone to make a reservation, they tell me they're too busy to talk. But not so busy that they can't answer the phone or can't sit there texting when we walk in the door. On multiple occasions over the past few months I've sent emails & left voice messages for management, but you're too busy making fruit cocktail to return my calls. First of all, I would not consider this restaurant "Tex-Mex". It's Mexican Fusion. It's original. The food is exquisite. I dare say, the steak is the best NY strip I have ever had...if you like flavors that are not common. The rub is out of this world, and that's what makes it the best. The crab cakes are full of meat, and incredibly tasty. The Ahi Tuna Taquitos are also outstanding. Granted, the prices are up there, but I consider this a high-end restaurant, even though it's casual attire. We had 8 o'clock reservations for 4 and the other party with us could not make it so we showed up as a party of two. After informing the hostess that the other party was not showing up they refused to give us our table despite having reservations. After requesting to speak to someone about getting the table that we had reservations for , a short bald gentleman and I use gentleman loosely who obviously had short man complex told me that he would not give us the table that we have reservations for and the right thing that we should have done was called ahead of time and told them that the other party was not showing up so they could have then called someone else that had a party of 4 for that time slot. After responding "that was an asshole comment to make" he then replied "asshole comments, asshole customers they're all the same" I was then told that if I didn't like it I could write a bad review because they have 17 years in business there and don't care. I wish I had read the reviews before giving this place a try. Instead, I'll add my story of woe to the pile. Oddly, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the others. It's laughable how many other people experienced the the whole make-sure-you-are-out-of-here-by-6pm-because-we-are-a-very-VERY-elite-restaurant routine. When we left at 6:15pm as requested, the place was STILL empty. With that, we join the club of customers who got treated like peons because we didn't make a reservation on a Thursday night. We also join the club of customers who we served bland food. Guac, bland (try some lime and salt). Fajitas, bland. (Again, salt!) Margarita, bland. I've had plenty of margaritas that don't use a mix, and they were still delicious. I giggled because half their menu is quesadillas. $17 quesadillas, folks. Almost anyone can put some cheese and meat between two tortillas and make it taste great! When I visit a restaurant described with three $ ($$$!), I expect much more than a list of quesadillas under their entree offerings. And what kind of Tex Mex place doesn't have queso dip on their menu?! It's an insult to all Texans everywhere. Please DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. You'll get treated poorly so they can keep up the illusion that they are a highly desirable establishment. It's a marketing tool to trick you into begging to eat there. Don't fall for it. You will pay for bland chips and salsa, and $2 for a mouthful (they called it a "side") of cheese. They get one star because our waiter was the nicest. Food is really different and really good. What you read in other reviews about the staff having a poor attitude is right on. Now they've configured the seating such that people are right on top of one another, plus even if the place is empty they sit you right next to someone else. When I say right next to someone else, I mean in order to leave your table you have to move your table over. Hope that the folks next to you are nice, because you will get to know each other by the end of the meal. It's really a shame that the owners and staff are going to ruin a place with such good food by having an arrogant attitude towards the customer and being so greedy as to pack people to make more money. read more

The rules and attitude at this place ruin how good the food can be. But it's erratic. Had a 645 reservation, which was not ready until 705. Apparently they can take a reservation, wiht the caveat that you agree to be done in 2 hours (really?) but they cant keep a reservation. Then we were told to go outside but you cannot stand in the bar area. if there are no seats in there, you cant wait in there. again...really? The service when we were finally seated was amateur and confused. the food was good but my steak was fatty, and grizzly- not normally the case. For the price, i'd go elsewhere. Unless you want to get take out from there it's not worth it. Too many rules, rude and inexperienced help, and you cant have a drink at the bar unless there is an empty seat. read more

The first table they sat us at was a tight fitting booth when I noticed the AC vent was dripping water on me I asked to be moved and although the place had empty tables they were unable to do so. Ok- service was good although slow and the food was just ok. Everyone raved about the steak and I found it to be way too salty and they overlooked it. I don't really know how one does that when I asked for rare to mid rare and recd a well done steak. More importantly - the manager is simply a jerk. We showed up for our reservation on time and we were a party of four but short one person- she got stuck and missed the ferry coming home from work. When I explained this the manager who was at the host stand said sorry, we can't seat you. Now- I've worked in bars and restaurants for more than a decade and I've never seen three people seated at a table that was different from a four top. He made a big show of going to ask the owner if he could take a 3 instead of a 4 and got us permission but we would need to be out by 845(it was 7pm). I told him that that was pretty much up to his staff, now wasn't it. All in all- I think this place is overrated and won't be getting any more of my business. i actually worked here for a hot second 3 years ago. while the people skills of the old hostess leaves much to be desired...the food is a-w-e-s-o-m-e! i'm a picky eater and i love almost EVERYTHING on the menu. for me, it's all about the appetizers. normally i eat very little in one sitting, but pump me full of margaritas and i'm ready for more more more food. yum! you must try the jumbo lump crab cakes served with a chipotle sauce and the warm brie in tomato sauce and roasted garlic - served on warmed soft tortillas is to die for!! basically, go in with a big appetite and try everything. one warning, unless you like the feeling of being crammed in next to your neighboring table like in NYC, then make a reservation early for the left side of the restaurant (not the bar side). i've been there at least 5 times, and i think i'll go back again for v-day weekend :-) read more

After coming here a few times and seeing the steak at tables near us, we finally went all in and got it. All I can say is sweet baby Jesus that thing is incredible. I'm not sure what they run on it, but it is phenomenal. Not only does it taste phenomenal, it was cooked to a perfect medium rare The jalapeño margarita is to die for! As is the warm brie, stuffed jalapeños, guacamole and chips and salsa. While this place is pretty expensive for Mexican. Make sure you deviate away from the usual fajitas and get something different. I went to Copper Canyon last week with a party of 3. We had some trouble finding the place, there is no name on the door, only a horseshoe. Apparently that's their logo but not being from the area and it being freezing outside almost made us go somewhere else. I'm sure glad we didn't! Seating was a bit cramped but the rest of the dinner was amazing! Our waitress was a very friendly young girl who knew the menu cold, made solid informed recommendations AND had a smile on her face. We all had different margaritas and loved them (mine was the spicy one, very good!) The chips and guac app- house made chips, nice blend of spices on them, guac was solid (would love to see them offer different varieties also) Entrees- NY strip was a 10. Perfect medium rare with a spicy flavorful charred crust, awesome. -chile relleno also a hit. You must love goat cheese and if you do, you will love this. Really unique and well executed. -seafood risotto - also solid although a bit salty and I love salt. The menu is short and sweet, they keep it small and execute it perfectly! You can tell everything is homemade and someone in that kitchen takes pride in the food that goes out of it! Will be back asap! read more

This is our second time visiting Copper Canyon both times with reservations. Both times were we sat in the very loud Bar side of the restaurant. Our entrees both times were not at all appetizing. The fish tacos were served as over breaded fish sticks stuck on top of a tiny amount of cabbage on a small size tortilla. The pork chop that we ordered looked more appropriate for am upscale Mexican place but it was extremely salty and under cooked (way too close to rare). Both times the margaritas have been overly bitter. They are also overpriced, small portion size with a large price tag. I have been disappointed both times in the service also. Just not friendly, not interested servers who seem bored. read more

A Tex-mex that is a cut above the rest. There chips are made freshly made and come spiced. The salsa is a hearty, spicy, Chipotle-like master piece. It meals were certainly spoiled by the deliciousness of this appetizer. Another great app was there brie swimming in a skillet of spicy, garlic salsa which could only be rescued by warm tortillas. We also had the goat cheese chile relleno surrounded by black beans and portobello mushrooms and a spinach, chicken cassadilla with fresh mangos which were also amazing.
