Food was really good. Yet on the other hand the service absolutely sucked. I didn't realize that every table was on a timer no matter how much food or how many drinks you order. Maybe they should bring out a stop watch and start the timer as soon as you take your seats. I've never felt rushed in a restaurant before so this one takes the cake. Very poorly ran. Always a great experience at the Copper Canyon. However, you definitely want to call ahead and make a reservation. It's a hot spot, so it can be hard to get a table. The staff is lovely and the food is to die for. The steak....let me talk about this steak for a second....it is out of this world! We also tried the warmed brie appetizer and we had to order 3 more because we couldn't get enough of it. Everyone raves about the steak at Copper Canyon. As a meat lover who hunts, I am pretty sure the steak was blackstrap from a deer. Not to mention, my dates steak (venison back strap) came out cold. Very disappointed. My waitress was very pushy,our drinks were inconsistent, and the food was not brought out the way that I had asked. Pretty simple for the one star really, horrid service... The manager seems to feel that seating a party of six is doing us a "favor"... We were seated at 7:15. Our entrees arrived at 8:55. Earlier we had asked about the status of our order and our waiter said "It's comming right up." When we asked a second time, our waiter said, "It's coming out now." After another seven minutes he suggested we might want to take it to go????? Our cabs were due at 9:00 sharp. So we rushed through a relatively uninspired meal, and when I confronted the manager there was little apology and a lot of attitude. Go there if you're in the mood for 90s style upscale Mex and a state of mind from the staff that reminds you,"It's coming out now" means... "You'll get it when the kitchen feels like it, bitch." Eh is all I can say. Our meal started off on the wrong foot... when we asked for a table for 2, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and the hostess huffed. Then told us they could "squeeze us in", but we would have to eat quickly. The place was EMPTY (maybe 3 tables were taken). We should have walked out at that moment. Save yourself some time and money We've been coming to Copper Canyon for several years now. It is some of the best tex mex around. Seems like it's been a bit spotty lately though. Chips for salsa and guac were burnt. i'm suprised they served them. The NY strip used to be one of the best around but it seems they've been skimping on the cuts they choose lately. massive layers of fat and grissle in the last one I ordered. for that much money, I expect quite a bit more. the margaritas were outstanding as always. the fish tacos my wife ordered were better in the past as well. seemed like they had either been prepped earlier or they spent too much time under a heat lamp. not sure when they plan on waking up and hiring someone more welcoming as a hostess. This old lady could be one of the more miserable people we've ever encountered. Expect to be treated as if you are lucky to be eating there. They are so close to getting it right. Someone needs to clean house. save your money. for that kind of coin, it should be done right every time. read more

For food I got the southwest spring rolls as an appetizer and the spice crusted red snapper for my entree. I loved both. Writing this review based off of the customer service I received on a Saturday, which was super great. I wanted to take my Dad out for dinner, who is a wheelchair user. I left a message on the restaurant's answering machine & received a call back in 20 minutes or so. The guy I spoke with (owner? host?) was extremely kind and understanding - assuring me the place was accessible & so were the bathrooms. Even though they only take reservations for over 4, he took them for us two for early evening (4:30). When we arrived, they had a table ready & opened the door and helped me wheel my Dad in to the restaurant. I'm really thankful for how pleasant and kind they were both over the phone & when we arrived. This kind of service really makes an experience start off great. My Dad and I do not go out often like this so it really made for an awesome time just from the beginning. I also asked over the phone if they had a vegetarian option and the immediate question was if I ate dairy or not. I thought this was also extremely perceptive & accommodating. They were able to make me some fajitas with no dairy, which were very good, lots of different veggies with some delicious guacamole that was on the more creamy-avocado side then citrusy/oniony/etc. I wish they had given just a little bit more guacamole, seeing as there was otherwise just veggies & tortillas. This place seems to have an innovative menu so I think they could pull off a really well executed vegetarian/vegan dish that is creative and fulfilling. Anyway we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Other pluses: great service, decor is lovely, GIANT tequila menu, creative desserts (my Dad loved the key lime ice cream pie), and best, Carton brewery on draft. My only other suggestion is to have some table chips for free, my Dad wanted some but you have to pay for them. I think nice places usually have bread, so why not chips? read more

Food was delicious. Was not busy at all, but im guessing it was because it was a Monday. Service was good too. Started with the chips, which are homemade and well worth it. The salsa is nice and smokey with a bit of a kick. Also got the guacamole which is outstanding here. Its pretty much the reason we went. Both my wife and I got the fish tacos. They are deep fried cod in spicy batter. Pretty good and decent spice to it. It did need salt and salsa on it. My parents got the quesadillas and said they enjoyed them. Had a fantastic dinner here a couple nights ago. My family and I have been going to Copper Canyon since the days when they were in their old building across the street. It's been years since then, but I'm happy to see that the food is still the same quality. We split several appetizers, my favorite of which was the warm brie. We also really enjoyed the spinach & arugula salad which comes with bacon, currants, sunflower seeds and a very fresh tasting dressing. For an entree I chose the peppered NY strip steak and it was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. The service was also great. We had a very amiable and attentive server, Antonio, and all of our food came promptly. Although the food is definitely on the pricey side, I found all of it to be well worth it! read more

Party of four... been here about 5 times in the last ten years. Service was great. Three star rating is for the food. Ordered the warm Brie appetizer with the charred tomato salsa and garlic. It was delicious, especially with the homemade salsa and roasted garlic but the warm tortillas do not go with this app at all! The salsa is too runny for a warm tortilla.... it just drips out and makes it messy to eat. They need to serve it with tortilla chips! It would be so perfect with chips! The salsa is delicious and has a nice kick and the gooey Brie ... imagine scooping it up in a chip... had I known, I would have asked them to substitute the tortillas with chips. For my entree, I ordered the fried cod tacos. Bland bland bland. It comes with a tablespoon of guacamole, pico de gallo in a flour tortilla and a very watery sauce that tasted like lime juice with chipotle seasoning. It could've been so much better if the cod was seasoned better (tasted like a fish stick with no flavor) and with a better sauce... maybe a chipotle aioli? I asked for Cholula sauce. Nope, they don't carry it. How does a tex-mex place not have Cholula?! Then I asked for Tabasco... Nope... they don't carry that either. The only hot sauce they carry is Sriracha... I do not want a sweet, Thai hot sauce with my tacos... yuck. If I want Thai flavor, I'll go to an Asian restaurant. The chocolate ganache tart was decadent... rich, dark chocolate flavor... not too sweet with a great nut crust. read more

If you ever have a craving for either a smooth tequila or lump crab cakes, this is your place. I give 5 stars because they have the best crab cake I have ever had to date. I consider myself a crab cake ho I'll try them anywhere or if there is a hint that it might be good. The Canyon wins hands down. They have a huge tequila menu that will knock your sandals off. The Reposado tequila are so smooth that it's tough to stop at one...two..ok three! The steak is a specialty here. You must try the crab cakes and steak. I NEVER write reviews but feel compelled to give everyone a BIG heads up - Don't waste your time or money at this place. You'll get a better meal at chipotle for significantly less money. I'm not sure how they get away with charging such high prices for quesadillas and guacamole. We had to return a chicken quesadilla as the chicken was pink and completely raw inside (visible to everyone at the table). The manager came out and actually argued with our table that is was cooked. And this particular customer was 7 months pregnant, you would think that there would've been some level of sympathy. Pretty much handled the situation in the worst possible way. Snooty staff, bar staff not friendly at all they spend more time looking at their phones and the mediocre nouveau tex mex food eh. I sat at the bar and I asked the bartender if the guacamole was fresh and he said yes within seconds it came out ice cold and I am guessing from the refrigerator. When I asked if the guacamole was fresh I meant did you just make it not did you make it days ago and is it sitting in the refrigerator. I tasted it and it was going bad and they did not take it off my bill!!! I went on Saturday for Margarita day and None of the bartenders knew anything about tequilas I was asking general questions about the different tequilas and the staff was honest and said they really didnt know too much about tequilas. If you are going to have a tequila bar you should have some one there with some knowledge of tequilas, my boyfriend knew more. I still like the place the atmosphere is great and maybe I went on the wrong day I did get there as soon as they opened, the chips and salsa was good and we did a flight of tequilas and we were charged every time we asked for more chips and sala. I mean if we are during a flight there should be some type of food we could eat while we are tasting the tequilas. I dont expect the bar to feed me but something small would be nice. All in all I spent $200.00 and the staff acted like I spent nothing the service could be better they treated us like we were invisible. Would I go back, yes everyone deserves a second chance and I do a lot of events in the area so I am hoping the next time I get it gets better. read more

We had a very pleasant experience on a Friday night. We phoned ahead and found out a table would be available in a half hour and we were then seated when we arrived. We had the chips and salsa which were some of the best anywhere. I had the Copper Canyon Margarita which was excellent. For entrees we ordered the shrimp risotto, halibut special, and a chicken fajita. All of them looked fantastic and tasted great. We did not order dessert. I always sit at the bar and order the same thing every time I go to CC. The steak and a "across the street margarita" which is a formula that was used when they were across the street in another building. The service and food is consistent, and very good. The last time I was here the bartender was kind enough to ask several patrons to move down so I could have a seat to sit next to my friend. Really above and beyond service, but I usually tip pretty well as I am always happy with the food and service. read more
