We have a friend who enjoys coming here for her birthday so we brought her here as usual she's alone now and we've enjoyed it when we' used to come we don't live in this town. Most restaurants have risen their prices this place is no different, Chips and guacamole $15 at least make sure there's enough guacamole to go with the chips. But that's ok it is what it is. The food was really good as usual no complaints there. I had the 20oz steak $44 I loved it. My husband had the special Short Rib tacos $20 they were good nothing to rave about they didn't even taste like short ribs which he loves that's why he ordered them. Spinach salad was great really big enough for 3 of us to share and it had a great spice to it. Our server was nice she did her job well she could have come back sooner to see how everything was before we were more than half way done there were only two tables in the dining room. Here was (My) problem for the night , If your going to charge these prices make the dining room nice set it up . Every table was empty no silverware no glasses no nothing. I felt like I was sitting in a cafeteria somewhere. The set dining room is part of the ambience when you go out to a place make it look like a restaurant that's worth coming into even if your not using cloth napkins . I don't mind paying extra to use a credit card that's my choice but when you're charging over 3.5% on the total bill that's a bit much I know how cards get charged at the end of the night now your just ripping people off. Parker our waiter came over asked if we had been there. Explained the menu. We ordered drinks. Chips, salsa and Guacamole. Next we couldn't decide so appetizers we got the stuffed jalapeños and the melted Brie. (We we're not sure on entrees, didn't feel rushed st all) After some thought we decided the fish tacos and Chili Rellenos! NOT disappointed! I felt like Goldilocks dining here. The first margarita was too watery. The next was too sweet. Back to too watery. Finally, juuuuust right. You feel the disdain the second you walk through the door. The waiter came over within minutes pushing us to order. We took our time enjoying our drinks and then ordered. We had asked for everything to come out together, but the dishes came out over the next 30 minutes. Our bill was hefty (which is fine and expected), but we were immediately asked to leave even though we all still had full drinks. We were embarrassed that our night out was rushed completely and we were told we had to leave because another group was coming in. Very strange experience overall - I guess I was expecting a "Tex-mex vibe" but instead it was like this ultra modern space with taylor swift playing in the background. We get there and immediately, what I'm guessing is an inexperienced hostess seats us at a horrible table, even though the rest of the room was empty - ok, whatever. I'm not going to assume this is discrimination, even tho it definitely felt like it. I can get past the strange energy of the place if the food is good.. guac comes out - it's ok. I have been going to this restaurant off and on since it open 16-17 years ago. It is so inconsistent. The bar is always good, the Waite staff and bartenders are excellent.The food is average at best. The owner hangs around the front door and he can be welcoming or rude depending on his mood. If you make a reservation for 4 and you only show up with 2 people for reason beyond your control, be prepared for a good beat down. The owner is basically an asshole. read more

Went here recently and was Surprised by the 3.75% charge to use a debit or credit card. The food is good but this isn't an inexpensive restaurant to begin with. I had a pretty hefty bill and to have to pay a fee of $15 extra for use of a card is excessive in my view. I will think twice before going again. read more

Still one of our favorite local places after all these years. There was some inconsistency after COVID but they seem to be getting their mojo back. Guacamole, salsa & chips always a must. Will not come here again, when calling to make a reservation for 5PM they agreed to seat us "if we promised to be out by 6:45." When we called telling them we were on our way but a little late, they were extremely impolite and stressing that "we were told we had to be out by 6:45," and after telling them we would do our best to get there as quickly as we could, they again repeated we needed to be out of there quickly. When we got there, they refused to even seat us. If you want a nice dinner where you can relax and take your time enjoying a meal, do not come here. I am still riding the tequila high from one of the better meals (and nights) I have had in a long time. Copper Canyon has cracked into my personal top 10 and done so with a southwestern authority. Friends had insisted that the food was great and in particular that the steak was a must order. Usually those types of reviews are met with a good dose of skepticism on my part and yesterday was no different. But they were right! If you try to find Copper Canyon, don't expect a big sign advertising it's presence. Their is a horseshoe painted on the the glass outside and that is how you know you are there The NY Strip is rubbed with pasilla chili and hickory and then grilled to perfection. Their grill must have some magic powers because everything that came off it had a smokey flavor that would have made Geronimo blush. The canyon fries (think barbecue potato chips in french fry form) alone are worth the price of admission. Let's discuss the baby lamb chops.....when you suck on the bone to get every bit of meat, people will look at you funny , but you know you got something special. Make reservations early (you are not the only one that knows of this treasure) or sit at the bar and order a margarita or three....as we did. Try to get the table tucked away in the back and enjoy the privacy....as we did. Get a little crazy, order and snap pictures of your friend's cleavage......as we did. read more

Just left the copper canyon. Went for dinner with husband , daughter and her boyfriend. We were really enjoying the evening . After main course we asked for dessert menu. Our waitress came back to table and said their was no time to put in a dessert order as we had to vacate the table in 10 minutes as they had another reservation. We were not even there for an hour and a half. We literally would of had our dessert and left within a half hour as we know our dining etiquette and would never overstay our welcome. We were told ten minutes after sitting to place orders and that all food had to be ordered at one time. Asked for horse radish and was told that although they have it, the chef won't allow sides - even paid for. For the hefty price you would think you'd have a relaxed time and a sauce with fee- not cut off for no reason. Limited bar. 7:30 comes and we want dessert - the waiter tells us she can't service us because they have another reservation at the exact table in ten minutes and to leave. Received apps and asked for sour cream--another 15 min wait. Nothing arrived. Waitress finally swung by and asked if all ok-asked again for sour cream. 5 min later she delivered it. Food cold by time I got it. Last straw. Asked for manager who basically did not apologize but said we would get new waitress. No sorry or comp beer or drink for our troubles. New waitress nice and attentive but by this point meal ruined. Sad to say our last time driving 20 minutes for such terrible customer service. Food very good but not worth hassle. FYI we spoke to the manager directly outside to address her handling of our issues. Still no remorse, had to practically beg for an apology. Explained that we thought we would at least get comped a drink for all of our trouble. Just said sorry you feel that way. Really? I told her several times it was my husband's birthday. Obviously didn't care. Will be contacting the owner as they need to train their managers. My family and I LOVE this place! We go there 1-2 times a year, at least once for my mom's birthday since it is her favorite place. We love the food! The margaritas, chips & salsa, and guacamole are fantastic! The Brie is out of this world! We also get 2-3 entrees to share! My top recommendation for an entree is the New York Strip! It has the right amount of spices for everyone and the fries are not greasy but are very tasty! Would go back there hands down! The one thing I would change, however, is the management because the last time I went there, the original booth we were given was too tight since my brother and I are very tall guys and need the leg room. Frankly I was torn on this review. I will start by saying the food was very good. The lamb chops cooked perfectly, pink in the middle with a nice char on the outside. The short rib taco was sweet and succulent. However, I gave this two stars because of the service. One hour after placing our order the waiter came to tell us the kitchen had lost the order. While these things happen, as a server I would have thought he should have noticed that it had been an hour since he put the ticket in. While these things happen and I'm generally tolerant, a member of management came by to tell me this had never happened in 18 years. A little hard to believe in that mistakes will happen in the restaurant business. When getting ready to write this review I noticed quite a few others with the same complaint. Please don't try to convince me this has never happened when there are many instances of poor service. Just apologize and move on. Again the food was excellent but you may experience a long wait or other service problems. read more

This was my first time dining at a table. The dining room was warm and comfy, but the lights could have been dimmed a bit. The salsa and chips were amazing as always. We ordered the bacon guacamole. The bacon seemed like an afterthought, just buts of crispy bacon mixed into the guac. The guacamole itself was great, so I'm not complaining. The duck tacos (special) were amazing. I would go back and eat those all the time if they were on the regular menu. The NY Strip on the menu is worthy of it's reputation. If it was Rare, as ordered, instead of Medium Rare- Medium, it would have been the best steak I'd had in months. We were so full after all of that, we had to skip dessert. The reason that this place gets three stars is the awesome bartender who waited on me while I was there tonight. Without her, it gets a zero. I was there for over 90 minutes waiting for my order. Watching everyone else leave, arrive, get their food, get their dessert, leave. Apparently the kitchen lost my ticket. But the accounting function of the restaurant didn't forget to charge me. (Nice try!) I gave up. Asked for a refund. Haven't seen that refund hit my bank account yet but I'm hoping it will. Then I stopped at CVS and bought some frozen pizzas for dinner. Don't waste your time here. The management of this place is in way over their head, thinking that they effectively can run a restaurant in a busy shore town, with incompetent employees. The bar staff in this place is amazing. And they are being brought down by the incompetence that surrounds them in management and in the kitchen. read more

The service is terrible and our server told us upon ordering "we can't order additional food because our table is on a time limit". This happened 5 minutes into seating. On top of having the clock ticking on our night out we had to wait for dishes once the small plates arrived. The server asked us for dessert order and when we declined we were told we had to leave because they needed the table. Well after coming here many times this time around was very disappointing. The crab cakes are always amazing and still are however the steak was always my go to choice and this time around it was by far the worst. I asked for med rare it came out med well manager came over cut off the ends that were less cooked and said here have these while we make you another. The next steak comes out and in my opinion a shot to the gut rare. nobody comes back to ask how it is and when it comes time to drop off the check the server just leaves it and not a word. If you come here, get a margarita, get the crab cake, and get the brie cheese with garlic and tomato sauce with tortillas-sounds weird but all of this is excellent and what I would solely go back for. We ordered a couple of other things we didn't love- we ordered "Tuna Taquitos".. which was just seared tuna tacos with a very strong over-powering sweet sauce. We also ordered the trio of guacamole which was interesting but just -ok. We also ordered fried calamari which was the most different calamari I've had- wasn't terrible just not my favorite. If I came back, I'd try to order some different things. Best mexican in this area is definitely chilangos- but I'd like to give Copper Canyons tacos/fajitas a try. I'll be back, but not for a while.
