Went here for dinner on a Monday night with wifey. The drinks were really great and from the looks of the packed bar, the drink menu is what draws a crowd. Our food on the other hand, seemed like it was warmed up in a microwave. We got 2 very expensive fish entrees, a couple apps and 2 drinks a piece. The place was dirty. Kind of like the place must be really hoppin' at night but they don't clean up for the next day dinner check the costs 120 bucks. We went to Copper Grill this afternoon and had a very enjoyable experience. Our entire group ordered the Roasted Pear Salad with chicken and shrimp and it was light and delicious and the flavors were well balance. However, the best dish was the french fries. These were some of the best french fries we have ever had - perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even as the fries got cold they maintained their perfect crunch factor. I would return here again and again just for those fries. I also want to call out our waiter James who was so incredibly attentive and responsive and checked on us numerous times to make sure we enjoyed our food. He was wonderful. read more

We went here before Riverfest for dinner. We had a group of 11 and were the only people in the restaurant. Most of us only ordered drinks and appetizers; a few had burgers. The food was alright but the service was terrible! The servers were all talking at the end of the bar and we kept having to call out to get our server to come over. It took 25 minutes just to get our ticket and we had to ask for them 2 times and they came out wrong. We ended up being at the restaurant for an hour and 40 minutes and missed one of the bands we came to Riverfest to see. The menu is crazy expensive and totally not worth it...we would not go back or recommend this place at all. I'd hate to see the service when they're actually busy. read more

I ate lunch at Copper Grill with a fairly large group of people attending a wedding the following day. The groom was with us and happened to know the staff, so I think we got some special treatment. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and fun, and the food was quite delicious. I especially enjoyed the vegetable dip appetizer. It was really tasty and was large enough for 5 or 6 people to share. The southwestern eggroll appetizer was yum as well, but paled in comparison with the veggie dip. For lunch I had a salad that was good and hit the spot. Nothing to write home about, but it's a salad, so that's to be expected. My fiance (well, he was fiance then but he's the HUBBY now!) had the catfish po' boy. Loved it. I'll order that if we go back sometime. Over all, I really enjoyed this experience. It's possible that it was due to the extra attention we received because of the groom's popularity, but I'm not complaining! read more

I would give 3.5 if I could. I have been going to Copper Grill pretty regularly since it opened (the grocery is now closed). I've always had good service and the food is very good, though I think, and my husband agrees, it is a little expensive. I've come here for family get-togethers, cocktails, date nights and lunches (both business and fun). I've also attended events in their private party room. It's also fun to have cocktails out on the patio before the weather gets too hot/humid or too cool. I like the atmosphere here; it's very urbane and cool. It's nice to sit at the bar and get recommendations from John. For appetizers, I love the fried macaroni and cheese balls, which are served with a little fruit compote. Delicious! They also have a GREAT cheese plate for sharing. I also have enjoyed the warm goat cheese salad and the caprese salad, though I think other Little Rock restaurants do these dishes more expertly. (Yesterday, my friend and I had the goat cheese salad for our lunches, and we both asked for more goat cheese -- it just didn't last through all the greens! -- and the waitress was accommodating and let us know there would probably be a charge, which was fine.) Actually, my favorite entree here is the hamburger and fries. They really serve amazing French fries here, and I will always recommend them for that! It can be difficult to park, as they have limited spaces in their private lots, and the meters in the neighborhood all seem to be 1 hour limits before 6 p.m., so allow time for that, whatever time of day you're arriving. Once when there was a lot going on downtown, I had to park five blocks away! I'm sure I'll return to Copper Grill again and again. This was a nice casual place to Go with a group. I liked that a table of 12 could visit without having to shout. The food is good but not terribly inventive but solid for what it is. I had a chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and spinach on a mushroom ragout. It was tasty - something I would enjoy eating again but not make a special trip back there for. We had reservations for 4 at 6 pm. We sat on time and out waitress immediately wanted our order- we hadn't looked at the menu yet. We asked for some more time, which was a mistake. After that, our service was extremely slow. Our waitress forgot about our appetizer (she didn't even ring it in) and the kitchen took way too long to put out meals. It took 1.5 hours just to get our dinner. The food was alright. The best part of the meal was dessert, although they were out of everything we wanted (and we were the first group seated and didn't see a single table order any of those- so assuming they went into the night without any) and drinks were great- the bartender knew what he was doing. Do not go if you're trying to get in and out under 1.5 hr and if you want good qualifg for price. For what our bill was, the service (front and back of house) and food was not worth it. read more

A business associate brought me here for dinner while in town. Not disappointed! Very attractive setting, good menu, great Rib Eye steak. Appetizer was shrimp with some Louisiana inspired sauce. While heavy with cream, it was excellent nonetheless. The steak was great and the waiter was always there to freshen the drink. All I had was water, but he never let it stay empty long. I wanted simply fruit for dessert, not the heavy and calorie laden typical sweets. He made me a bowl of sliced strawberries even though it was not on the menu. He went the extra mile! I decided to come to this establishment for brunch/lunch since my family and I have wanted to try restaurants all over Little Rock. This place was so very disappointing. The wait for our food was ridiculous....about an hour. Once the food came out it was cold...how is that possible. I ordered the shrimp tacos....thinking you can't mess this up, they were horrible, cold, no seasoning...just bland. The salsa that came with the tacos tasted like alcohol which it didn't mention alcohol in the menu. The crab cakes were basically frozen and warmed in a microwave...so horrible. We haven't been to Copper Grill for some time and were looking forward to our return but it was not impressive. The wine menu was being changed so many of the wines listed were not available. The waiter did take a lot of time to finally fine one we liked so he was trying. The twice baked potato side item was not available though they were able to offer garlic mashed instead and they were good. We sat at a table with a glass partition that separates the restaurant and it was terribly dirty. Streaks of wine and what looked like greasy fingers were all over it. We had grilled oysters for an appetizer and the bacon wrapped shrimp and the salmon for our main courses. The appetizer was very good! The shrimp and salmon were only average. Both main courses are over priced in my opinion. Very few patrons on a Saturday night. Perhaps we aren't the only ones that have had a marginal experience. Disappointing over all. read more

Two stars for a batch of solvable problems - manager most likely at fault. I've been twice, I'll get right to it and point out what's wrong, and the few things that happened to be right, and let the other reviews rehash the basics. Shrimp and Crawfish Fried Bites: Or something like that. This was supposedly crawfish tails fried in a batter and served with an aioli clone. Instead I got mystery-meat previously-frozen crawfish tails. You could have said, "Here are some fried shrimps," and I would have tasted them and said "okay." You could have told me it was scallop or lobster or crab or who-knows-what and I wouldn't have known any better because it was completely mushy, bland and tasteless. Boring sauce on the side was boring. Crawfish are a Southern favorite - bother to do it right. Salmon Spinach Nicoise Salad: Ugh, this was awful. Also it had no right to call itself nicoise-anything. Two sad little pieces of new potato, two unripe hamburger slices of tomato, four cold little green beans and an overcooked and unseasoned fillet of salmon. Where are the requisite hard boiled egg and olives? This mess was piled on top of a huge handful of completely dry baby spinach leaves. Gross. For some reason Copper Grill insists on serving their salads "nacho-style" where you are given a little ramekin of dressing that you are supposed to individually dip each bite in before you eat (I guess). Or I could have glopped the entire ramekin on top of the salad and then had mostly dry leaves underneath. This is not rocket-science, someone is asleep at the wheel in the kitchen... Service has been un-memorable. When we ate there two nights ago the tables and chairs were all jammed together like they had been rearranged and not properly put back together. I was awkwardly close to another table. Finally, please take the word "Grocery" out of your name, it is meaningless now that you no longer sell groceries, and thus sounds stupid. read more

This place was awful. Most of our entrees were dry and bland. The server was pretty attentive; however the food was terrible. The cork pasta sauce was bland and the shrimp was rubbery and tasted like it was just caught out of the ocean. The stuffed chicken tasted okay. It wasn't seasoned very well. The brownie tasted like a store bought brownie. It was dry and cold. I would not recommend this place for anything other than the environment. read more

Love Copper Grill. The staff and service are amazing. We love shrimp and seafood and it is excellent at Copper Grill. You can order the famous Play-de-do from the closed Cajun's Wharf and sometimes get the Boston Casserole. Shrimp isn't that hard to cook. But when my wife ordered the shrimp and grits, and I ordered the shrimp tacos we found the shrimp extremely over cooked. It was like rubber. The grits were drowning in butter. the shrimp tacos were flavorless. The only reason they got 2 stars is because of the elegant environment and clean restroom. It certainly wasn't the food or the recipes. The fries weren't bad. The manager offered us a free desert but we refused. Later the waiter came out and said that the manager was comping our meal. I should also mention there were only three other tables in the entire restaurant so pressure wasn't the problem. Nice, quiet, people but inadequate food. Especially considering the inflated price and weak portions. Perhaps they should spend less time on inedible or unappetizing garnish and spend more time managing the flavors. read more

I enjoyed dinner at the Copper Grill with 7 colleagues on a recent trip to Little Rock. Copper Grill has a sophisticated a slightly elegant atmosphere with a mid-scale menu. I enjoyed the Stuffed Chicken: "Chicken filled with spinach, herbed goat cheese, and mushrooms. Encrusted in Panko bread crumbs and finished in a hot oven. Drizzled with a mushroom ragout and served with garlic and white cheddar cheese grits." The Chicken was delicious and the goat cheese and mushrooms really went well together. The mushroom ragout over the top was delicious, and pulled the dish together. The cheddar cheese grits were flavorful with a very fluffy and pleasant texture. Also, the kitchen made one of their flatbreads by mistake "Shrimp with basil, aritchoke, tomatoes arugula, with mozzerella and parmesan.", which the server gave to us. It was delicious, excellent blend of flavors. I'm not a shrimp person, but this flatbread was quite good. The very best was our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, let us know his favorites (top 6) as well as what his honest take was on dishes he did not think were as well done. Overall a good experience. I would recommend the Copper Grill. Given my experience I'm wondering why the ratings aren't higher. read more

I'm really glad local restaurant business is picking up. I walked in at 430 on a Friday and it was booked except for a few small tables. This is clearly a restaurant with local followers. My server MyKayla was awesome. I started with the lemon basil martini which I highly recommend. Then the fried oysters which were not overly breaded and had good flavor although the tarter sauce was not exceptional. The stuffed chicken breast should have been called chicken fried stuffed chicken breast which I didn't expect but I suppose should have asked about. While the breast was perfectly cooked and moist the spinach could have had more presence and the goat cheese flavor came and went. The mushroom in cream sauce for the bed was bland and didn't add much to the dish. This dish was an opportunity lost. Honestly fried (though expertly done) was not the best way to cook this dish. But it was very hot when it arrived at the table. The white grits accompanying the dish were, well white grits nothing more. Overall adequate/average. Perhaps this well attended restaurant has other signature dishes, but I really didn't have one of them. Although I did have a second martini! read more

3.5, rounding up to 4. If you took Copper Grill out of its building and put it in the Chicago suburbs, which is where I'm from, it would fit in just fine. The ambience is not upscale but certainly *nice* and comfortable. It's on the nice end of middle-of-the-road. Pleasant. Well-lit. I opted for the seafood gumbo. Yes, yes, here I am eating seafood in a land-locked state AGAIN. I KNOW. But, this really sounded good. Gumbo. Comforting and warm. The waitress advised me that it was spicy "but not too spicy", and I like some spice. Sounded good. The end result was... kind of average, sadly. The scallops were good. The shrimp tasted a little rubbery. The crab claws were so-so, and the whitefish (I think?) was okay. The rest of the gumbo was a very very mild mixture of rice, celery, and likely other veggies. It was by no means spicy at all. Spices weren't really there. The andouille was also bland. Pricing is moderate; the gumbo was $20 sans salad or soup. It was a large portion. So why would I give this 3.5 (4) stars? Well, simply put I still feel that this was much better than my other Little Rock dining experiences. And the service was good too. That's worth something. Should I find myself in Little Rock in the future, I'd be willing to give Copper another go and hope they re-earn that half-star - or better. read more

I travel to Little Rock once a month and have eaten here on my last two trips (3 meals). There is a good variety to choose from even for those that want something on the healthier side and I have enjoyed everything that I have had. What really stands out is the service. Today, Crystal and the rest of the staff provided just the right amount of attention! Never did I want for anything. I wouldn't normally compliment a restaurant for its music, but it was like the had my personal play list. Al Green, Ray LaMontagna, Chris Stapleton, Van Morrison, Kaleo.... I was staying in a hotel close to this restaurant and wanted fish instead of the normal burger and pizza. This place really let me down. It was nice from the appearance but the staff and food leaves a lot to be desired. First, it took several minutes for the hostess to seat me even though there was no one waiting in front of me and the place was nearly empty. Second, I sat at the bar and the bar tender was more interested in working some deal with the guys down at the other end of the bar than serving me or anyone else. Third, I ordered the stuffed fish and it was a major let down. It didn't have much flavor and was underwhelming. It was a shame because it might've been a good place in the past but seems to lack any proper management. I will pass next time I'm in town. read more

My friend surprise me with a birthday dinner here party of 18 people . Reservation was at 815 didn't get seated till closer to 9 . The restaurant was hot . The food took over an hour . When the food finally came out my meatloaf look delicious and smoother with extra sauce on top compare to the others that order the meatloaf, but when I was eating it notice it tasted burnt . When I remove all the extra sauce realized it was burnt under all the sauce. Now I know why they only put extra sauce on the meatloaf it was only to cover the burnt part . Lazy to just fix it in the first place . I had send my food back and didn't reorder since it was already late and everyone else was almost done . Service was bad we waited and waited till our drinks including water get refill . I will not be back or recommend this place to anyone read more

It was not good. Trust me, I can make better food at my house. The concept is great and the wine selection is exceptional, but the chef needs to be ashamed of him or herself. I had the fried oyster bruschetta dish. It might have been good, but I wouldn't know because it was smothered in what resembled a runny shrimp cocktail sauce and that's all I could taste. I had the shrimp tacos for my entree and it was bland. Shredded carrots and jicama on its own is not "slaw". The concept is half-baked. Save your money and eat elsewhere. read more

Out-of-towner from New Orleans (bit of a foodie) looking for a simple dinner tried this location near my hotel and was pleasantly surprised by quality of ingredients and presentations. Copper Green salad high-quality (presentation mundane) with too-sweet dressing thankfully on the side. Waiter Clark recommended the meatloaf which was stellar with excellent garlic mashed. Listed desserts did not appeal so asked for plain vanilla with some chocolate on top. Got three scoops in broad bowl with patterned thick chocolate sauce over the scoops and the wide brim of the bowl. Happy-hour pinot noir very good. Asked for and was seated as solo on patio. Tab including three glasses of wine (review written hours later!) and tax was $47. Excellent experience after a long day of travel. read more

I like Copper Grill. It's a great place to grab lunch or have a nice dinner. One night, a group of friends and I decided to grab dinner before seeing a show at the Rep. We decided to go to LuLav. When we got there - the waiter asked us to wait at the bar for a table. After 20 min, he finally told us they couldn't seat us, although there were open tables, because they were short staffed. It happens, I get it - but we were going to be late for our show. We called Copper Grill to see if they could get us in. Not only could they get us in, when we got there, they had our table ready for us and our drinks were waiting. The put a rush on our food order so we wouldn't be late for our show. My friends and I were incredibly impressed and Copper Grill has won me over as a customer for life. If you go, make sure to order the fried Mac-N-Cheese appetizer. It is delicious. read more

This place is AWFUL. The waiter was controlling and obtuse, the appetizers were ok to meh, and the entrees were disgusting. I will never go here again, or let anyone I care about go there. We had a reservation. When the waiter sat us, one person in our party picked up the menu nearest him, but the waiter promptly told him that wasn't his, that was the menu of the person who was to sit next to him. It went on from there. But I don't want to focus on the service - the food is what really killed this place for me. OK, the fried cheese was decent, the bruschetta was "I've had better..." but then I made the mistake of ordering the bacon-wrapped shrimp. The food came out and I instantly smelled something sour. I decided to try it anyway, but no, the tinny, sour smell was now overpowering my taste sensors. It tasted as if someone had left the sauce in a tin can for a couple of days. It was inedible and in my opinion rotten. I asked the waiter to take it back and he offered to have another one prepared for me. More rotten food? No thanks. If I wasn't extremely hungry I would have opted for a different restaurant all together. I went for the burger, which was passable. I say the food was disgusting because 2 other people in my party didn't finish their food because they hated it as well. One person got the "special", which had a fish steak which he said tasted like a tire. (I don't know why he would know what a tire tastes like, but he is from Israel, so there's probably a story there..) The other person, when I was negotiating with the waiter for another dish, said not to get the Walleye - which she hated for reasons she associated with personal preference (she didn't want to go into it). Anyway, I say save yourself some hassle and spare yourself of disgusting food (and quite overpriced, I might add!) - just avoid this place and go across the street to the irish pub instead. read more

We went on a business trip, so it was pretty late Monday night. The ambiance was good, even though without realizing it was COPPER grill at first, some of the decor looks like cooked strips of bacon. There was a group of three of us, and we had an appetizer that was very good(the roasted oysters). Our waitress was very nice and fairly attentive at first. My colleague ordered the seabass, another ordered the shrimp salad, and I ordered a caesar salad with chicken and shrimp. While my food was tasty and well cooked, the seabass was not cooked at all, and it took over 10 minutes to find someone to return it, though we were one of three tables seated in the entire restaurant. When asked for something new, the flatbreads were all out(how does that happen), so my colleague ended up with a shrimp and grits. It wasn't the worst experience, but I don't think we'll be back. read more
