I had a turkey sandwich that actually had real turkey in it unlike all the fake plastic looking turkey served in most places. Caesar salad was very good also. My only complaint was that they had CNN on the tv and I think they should have more neutral programming in a restaurant, there are many people that despise CNN because they report false news and seeing it on tv while I'm trying to have a nice lunch makes me cringe but other than that everything was great including the music. read more

Where to begin? We called ahead and made a reservation for 9, including two small children (ages 4 and 6) We arrived, and had to wait. We were seated in the loft, and we assume they forgot about us for 25min... The table next to us sat uncleaned for most of our time there, dirty plates, cups etc. Our order was finally placed (we placed drinks and food orders all at the same time, then the wait began. We waited 15 min for drinks to arrive. The smaller kids were asking the waitress "where is my lunch" her response was "I don't know, probably in the kitchen cooking". Keep in mind she never told us there was a delay with our food, she only came up ONCE while we were waiting... Close to an hour and fifteen minutes later our food FINALLY came out... o n e p l a t e a t a t i m e...my son received his mac and cheese with a salad first, by the time next two plates arrived he was almost done with his meal. Not only did the food take FOREVER to come out, but most of ...was COLD!! We had ordered second drinks that were never delivered but were on the bill... The real icing on the cake was when my daughter came out of the ladies room, she overheard our waitress telling the other staff (in the downstairs area where others could clearly overhear her "the table upstairs is bitching because they don't have their food!" Classy!! The reason given to us was that "we are busy and our food is made to order and there are only three waitresses on". If you do not have the staff to accommodate a party of 9...they should have told us on the phone. I would have much rather gone somewhere else and not had terrible customer service! We were to head home out of state (3.5 hours away)....they delayed us by 2 hours. Then to top it off they took $25 off the bill....anyone who has eaten there knows that's basically the two kids meals!! And before someone asks "no, we did not leave a tip!" We are in town often and will never eat here again! read more

I came for breakfast and the omelet was tasteless but the presentation was more attractive then the taste. Very cute and quaint place and I wish them luck, however, I decided to go tonight for diner and the place was packed. I had the special, fish with capers and veggies. The food wasn't warm and not at all tasty. My daughter had steak, with eggplant ( weird combination) and some sort of potato and she felt that it wasn't good that she took the rest for the dog. That's enough of a clue. Kind of pricey for almost $29.00 to be tepid and just ok tasting. Will we ever go back again. The answer is a big fat NO. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the copper barn restaurant! We are always greeted promptly. Servers are always pleasant, checking on us regularly to make sure everything is OK. Drinks are always refilled without asking. The food has been exceptional on every occasion. It comes out hot, beautifully presented, and exactly as we requested... My family always has special requests for each one of their plates! The restaurant is beautiful, modern, warm, and inviting. We have been here for Sunday brunch, lunch, and dinner and each visit tops the last. Can't wait to come back for our next meal. Oh, BTW, I was very impressed with the fact that each time the menus are returned to the hostess, each page is wiped down with antibacterial wipes. Very nice touch! read more

My friend and I decided to switch things up and have breakfast here. We were so happy that we did! We went around 8:20am and it was nice and quiet. Our waitress greeted us and she was very friendly. We ordered the quiche of the day which was the cauliflower today. We also ordered a regular coffee, latte, and California omelet. The regular coffee was strong but delicious, and so was the latte. The regular coffee refill is about 1.25 I believe which is awesome for a coffee house. The quiche was fluffy, flavorful, and the crust was buttery and flaky (yummy). The California omelet was also flavorful and filled with avocado, cheese, mushrooms, and tomatoes and the portions were definitely filling! The manager came over to our table to say hello and she was such a pleasure to encounter. Everything about this place is inviting and cozy. If you are in Middletown I would take a trip to the Copperbarn coffee house and eatery! Fresh coffee, fresh food, good vibes, what more can you ask for?! read more

I started with Shrimp and Quinoa Gumbo soup in a cup. Amazing. ($6). For my main meal I had the Steak and White Cheddar Panini Marinated Flat Iron with sautéed red onions, tomato, spinach and horseradish aioli on ciabatta bread ($14) served with a choice of quinoa tabouli, garden chickpea salad, summer lentil salad, or french fries. I chose the chickpea salad which has no flavor so you have to add olive oil and vinegar cuz there's no seasonings The sandwich is very big. Meat was pretty tender. Cheese could have been melted a little more. It was enough for two meals. Sandwich did not blow me away for $14. But when you're starving....I feel it's overpriced for lunch. $21 without tip. Really nice atmosphere. My friend is here frequently and she got the avocado egg rolls they give you two for $10 with some spicy stuff that I wasn't crazy about. She also built her own salad in that cost $19. You can build your own salad starting with the greens and then adding in the meat, condiments etc. A plain salad is $9 and then add another $10 for all the other things that you like. Apparently she really likes it I thought it was overpriced but she enjoyed it and that's all that matters. The fish tacos look really good. The entire parking lot was packed at 1:00 in the afternoon had to wait for a parking spot. So they're doing very well. Good for them. Waitress was lovely. I felt the food came in a timely manner. I had a very nice visit with my friend in the restaurant. I didn't really notice any of the craft beers, all the different types of espressos and teas or the fact that they had a second floor. The atmosphere is has a modern hipster charm. Live guitar was a plus. Sat in the far corner where you can not see anything. Ordered the Todays Omelet and the Eggs Benedict with Ham. Omelet was good. Toast was dry, had no butter on it. Eggs Benedict was runny, and when I say runny I mean when you cut the egg in half the some of the white was not cooked. The english muffin was not toasted. They charge for refills on a Pepsi .. I think that is ridiculous. This was the second time coming here. Not sure I will give it a third time. read more

My neighbor invited me to brunch. We went around 1pm. We got there and were seated quickly. It wasn't crowded. I liked the ambience. Its very cozy and decor is very welcoming. The waiter was very helpful and attending. Looking at the menu it was very difficult to choose. I wanted to try everything. I settled on an omelette. It was delicious. It came with home fries, toast and fruit. They also had some very unique hot beverages. I can't wait to go back to try more food. read more

Went back, food was way better but I think it's because I made better choices off of the menu (I had a sandwich with eggplant, my friend had a small regular pizza and avocado rolls and also liked her food- last time I had the summer pizza and it was a let down). The wait staff is attentive but I don't want to sit on top of other people, especially when you have empty tables all over the place at 3 pm. I don't want to hear some guy FaceTiming for a half hour next to me, it completely ruined the ambience of such a beautiful place. Very cozy place. I had the burger with shrimp cake and the shrimp cake was way better than I expected. I got vegetarian side which was the lentil salad. The salad was good but not what I wanted. My boyfriend and I came here for a Sunday brunch. Upon arriving we were seated right away and the wait staff didn't hesitate to come over and greet us. I was surprised to see that they also had a breakfast and lunch menu, so it wasn't limited to the few items on the brunch menu. We both ordered Iced coffees since they have a large selection of craft coffees here. They brewed mine hot and added ice to it, since I ordered decaf. It tasted pretty good and was no too watered down. As for food, my boyfriend got the egg sandwich with hollandaise sauce. I got a california omelette which came with toast and potatoes. It was a filling portion of food which is good because we came hungry. The restaurant itself is very warm and cozy inside and well-decorated. As a coffee snob, I have always thought that Middletown has needed a good coffee place for a long time and now Copperbarn is it. We stumbled across this brand new eatery and loved it! I had the crab, avocado mango Napoleon as an appetizer which was very light and refreshing. My husband ordered the Copperbarn burger with a brioche bun that was cooked perfectly and was delicious! My Cabernet Sauvignon ( Josh ) red wine was lovely and just the right amount. They have a nice selection of local beers including Rushing Duck that happens to be my favorite. Dessert was made to order, Strawberry Shortcake with freshly made whipped cream. There was only one dessert available, but the focus is on quality not quantity! This is not fast food. This is a nice place where the quality of the food shines through and where the staff is friendly. I will definitely stop in again for an espresso and I look forward to sampling their dinner menu read more

My family and I decided to go for Sunday brunch after Church. It was nearly empty so we were seated right away. The first thing I noticed was loud R&B playing...like 90's R&B (Usher, Mary J. Blige, etc..) It was awkward when Ginuwine's "Ride it My Pony" played loudly as I sat with my 3 and 9 year old. It was just a bad choice of music so I strongly recommend they change that to suit a family friendly restaurant. It just didn't fit the "Coffeebar" ambience and experience. We ordered the black bean hummus and it was incredible. My youngest son ordered the kids Mac n Cheese and was happy with the large portion. The shrimp and quinoa gumbo soup was ok. My other son ordered their signature burger and loved it. The fries are perfect. However, the food took way too long to come out. The restaurant was empty so they had no excuse for us to wait that long to eat. We let it slide because our server was so nice. The girl behind the Coffeebar looked miserable and stressed out. I went up to look at the beer menu and coffee menu and she didn't even acknowledge me...no hello, nothing. She just looked down and pretended I wasn't there. So that left a lasting, negative impression on me. Nothing worse than someone with an attitude that's supposed to serve you. The coffee was indeed very good. read more

I kinda understand if it's bz but it wasn't that bz or packed, just slow..No juice options for kids! Only have ice tea and sodas! Like really? Ur close to the elementary school and family neighborhoods and they didn't think about adding more kids choices?! So our wait staff was OK..I suggest to do her homework more on the menus..I ordered a steak and salad was supposed to be part of the order right..10 mins later they served the kids foods and my husbands and mine..they looked fine except my steak wasn't cooked medium like I ordered..it was more well done than medium! I didn't make a huge deal coz although it wasn't cooked as i would've liked, it was good! The sauces that came with it was tasty! One prob though, salad wasn't served before my entree! For the time that we had to wait, they could've served the kids foods and the salad! Also, I ordered a glass of wine..they could've been more generous with the wine! At least pour me a real glass of wine! Not even half of the glass was filled! I like the concept that they're going for esp in Middletown where we've seen restos come and go..it's got potentials but they need to clean some rough edges..if u know what I mean.. I'm on the fence about this place - some food is really good, some not. I have been here for 2 brunches and 2 dinners. The brunch menu is good; the dinner menu is a bit sparse. Limited cocktail choices, good beer selection, nice decor and terrace, cool vibe. At the first brunch visit, we had to wait for a table and were told by the hostess to wait by the men's room. After 5 minutes, I got so disgusted by men walking by preparing to pee and the door to the bathroom opening and closing in front of my face, I asked if we could sit at the bar instead. Why did I have to ask for this? We should have been offered to sit there in the first place. Plenty of seats were available and we would have bought drinks. I was not happy and should have complained to the manager, but I'm too nice. ​Had a turkey club sandwich the second brunch visit - very ygenerous with the turkey, but the sandwich was dry with no condiment on the bread. Most recent dinner had avocado roll (heavenly) and a crab and vegetable dip with tortilla chips for apps - both were very good. Companions and I ordered ribs special - what a disappointment. They were cooked with a bland rub with virtually no sauce - just a few drops on top. Worst of all, they had that old leftover porky taste. I realize that dry ribs is one style of cooking ribs, but it didn't work here. I will probably return because of the lack of non-chain restaurants in Middletowm. read more

The service here is awful, took over an hour to get my food despite seeing my waitress walking around doing nothing. When I received my food(A burger) it was gamey and undercooked, the roll it came on was dry and obviously not fresh; what were they doing back there if not preparing my food properly??? Management is also uninspired, when I asked about my meal and the poor quality, I was told they'd look into it. Needless to say she didn't come back, and I didn't see her for the rest of my time there. I didn't even get comped for my meal or a discount, NOTHING!
