Another wonderful dinner at Copperhill. They put out tables and chairs outside to accommodate their loyal customers. I was jealous with my husbands appetizer... the melon and fig. I had a bite and it was awesome. My grilled octopus was excellent too but I can get that anytime. Well my bad...For dinner I had the grilled squash, an excellent choice. Highly recommended . My husband had the salmon. Unfortunately there are no other fish selection . I am just glad that the chef did a great job and it didn't ended to taste like any other pan seared salmon. I opted out for cocktail and ordered their watermelon with lime juice. Our server was nice to serve me a new one when I said it is kinda too limey. I enjoy this restaurant! I've been a handful of times and it's always good. I love the interior of the restaurant as well, very chic style. Always great service as well. This was our first time trying the Sunday Brunch menu and we like it better than the usual menu! We got the biscuits and jam app (fresh and amazing) and then the steak & eggs and chicken & avocado salad (it's the shrimp and avocado salad but I replaced it with chicken). It was $10 to replace which is pretty pricey but I really enjoyed it. Chicken was delicious! Very minor suggestion would be to chop the lettuce more so it can be bite-sized. Really enjoyed it either way! Outdoor seating looked nice as well. We chose inside because it was pretty hot but we would definitely consider it for a cooler day. read more

Cute place! I came here for dinner and tried the grilled octopus, hanger steak, sea scallop, burger, and mac & cheese. My absolute favorite was the sea scallop. I loved everything about the dish - the scallops themselves were so fresh, the sauce was amazing, and even the vegetables fit perfectly with the scallops and the sauce. My least favorite was the burger - although not terrible, I don't think it was worth the price ($22 w/o tax). I also loved the ambience here. The service was a little slow but the waiters were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I heard the brunch here is really great, so I definitely want to come back for it! read more

This is my second time going here, pre-covid and now (I don't consider that post-covid). The first time we came, everything was perfect, so great we couldn't stop talking about it for months. The inside is so beautiful that Joanna and Chip Gaines would be proud. You must make a reservation, we made it just a few days in advance but I would suggest a minimum of a week. They are still pretty strict with COVID restrictions, so inside seating is limited. I personally think they should have more tables because they were such a bother while we were eating. Every minute, while eating, or talking in between dishes the manager or bus boy would walk by to see if we were eating on schedule. If a dish was ALMOST empty and we were chatting someone would come and ask if they could take it. This happened 6 times with one dish...two is enough. So beware that they are PUSHY here. They will do whatever it is to get you to hurry up and out with your one and a half hour time limit. I will say that they did NOT do that to other tables which leads me to believe that if you're a regular you will be treated with respect. Those with GF or nut allergies BEWARE. FWIW it's 2021 and if you can't tell me the allergens in a dish or find ways to accommodate it then management really needs to step their game up. The devils on horseback are so freaking good but they have almonds inside and that is NOT on the menu. We ordered poutine and all I asked for was if they could take some fries from that order and put them to the side sans poutine (because there is flour in it) but they said it was "not possible" which leads me to believe they pre-make and just heat up a lot of their food. The shishito peppers of course are delicious (paired with an aioli) as is the tuna tartare. My friends loved the poutine FWIW. The octopus was also very delicious, as was the speck and fig salad (but they could ease up on the dressing because it was drenched). We ordered the oat and rhubarb "pie" with vanilla gelato at the end and we told the waiter twice to put the ice cream on the side, so I can eat it but it still came with it on it. What I found tacky was they brought the dish back, I guess took off the gelato, and brought it back with a new scoop in a dish and the oats and rhubarb dish. Any other restaurant, since it was their mistake, would just bring out the gelato and apologize but they took it to the back. I was hoping 1) they wouldn't tamper with it or 2) they wouldn't throw the whole thing out and waste food. Something during dinner had us feeling sick for the rest of the evening. I would love to go back and give them another try and chalk this terrible experience to them getting back on their feet. But I won't go back until things return somewhat back to normal because, compared to other restaurants, they are currently on the struggle bus. read more

One of the few restaurants on Long Island that truly feels like it should pull people from NYC. Service is always great and attentive and the space is incredible. The table arraignment was a little weird and threw me off for a while, I felt like we were in someone's living room, but I got used to it. For drinks he ordered a margarita which was superb! I first ordered the CutLoose but was a little disappointed. It tasted more like a spritzer with liquor than an actual drink. So, after I drank my spritzer, I ordered a class of the Rose, actually two. It was good :). They had a special appetizer, braised and shredded duck nachos. With a bunch of quality cheeses and peppers. Hands down, the best nachos we have ever had!! We also ordered the Crab Toast, I was disappointed. It was canned crab and there was something off about the flavor. Not bad, but off, my BF are most of it. For the main course I ordered the special Seared jumbo Scallops with a delicious cauliflower purée and cauliflower and shitako mushrooms. All I can say is yum, yum, yum! He had the Dry Ages Burger with bacon and onion jam. The burger was perfectly cooked and prepared, everything seemed to go well together. By the time we were finished with our mains we didn't have room for dessert but nothing stood out to us anyway. There was a woman, whom I assumed after a while was the manager. She wore a white skirt and beige blazer. She kept waking past our and the other tables, awkwardly looking at the tables. It really kept distracting me from the and the conversation. We saw 4-5 open tables throughout the restaurant that seated parties of 4, but we understand that they need those tables for bigger parties. Especially on a Friday night. So we decided to wait at the bar, have some drinks. We checked with them after 30 mins, 7:35 - and was told that we were waiting for another party of 2 to finish. So we decided to order some appetizers at the bar since we were starving at that point. After about another 45 mins, 8:20 - those 4-5 open tables that seated 4, was still open and hasn't been occupied. We could've sat there and have been nearly done eating, given we've been waiting for over an hour. The atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome! Mix drinks at the bar was great. Girlfriend loved the shishito peppers and poutine we ordered. I just wish I spent my birthday dinner, not at the bar waiting when they had plenty of tables opened. Had a delicious bellini that wasn't too sweet. They made a lovely mock tail that Tatiana recommended (lemonade with a pear purée). The biscuits are some of the best we have ever had. COVID-19 Precautions: 4/5 The restaurant had multiple signs at the entrance now at the back of the restaurant stating that masks are required. There was even a small stand that had disposable masks available if anyone forgot theirs. The hostess and all staff wore masks. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating available and all the tables were appropriately spaced apart. Outdoor seating is on a first come, first served basis so come early as it quickly filled up on a Friday evening! After being seated, the waitress explained that masks can be removed while seated, but to wear masks if we needed to be away from our table. The menus were all disposable and all the silverware came initially wrapped in linen. Ambiance: 5/5 The outdoor seating was very enjoyable. There is a covered patio area and also a section of the driveway with tables that has been sectioned off with potted plants. The patio had lights strung along the top which would be very cute in the late evening. Food: 4/5 We have been here several times and the food is consistently delicious. This visit we shared the corn fritters, poutine, cheese board, ricotta with honey toast, and peach cobbler. The corn fritters were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was good to keep it from being too dry, but the flavor of it might not be to everyone's taste. The poutine had crunchy fries and good cheese, but the short rib gravy really put it over the top to make it a must get. The cheese selection on the board was a good variety, but I wish it came with more bread or crackers to eat them with. The ricotta toast had a great mix of savory and sweet flavors and a nice mix of textures. The peach cobbler was a good summer dessert, but a little bland and underwhelming. On previous visits we got the devils on horseback and definitely recommend! Drinks: 5/5 The cocktails are well made and seasonal. Looking for something between fine dining and Brooklyn hip on Long Island, Copperhill is definitely the go to. When a restaurant plays 90s Hip Hop I can usually assume I'm in for a good meal. Sticking with the small plates, the blistered shishitos are a nice sharing dish with a kick that isn't overbearing. The tuna crudo is a nice refreshing dish with a whole lot going on, but well balanced in flavor. Everything is presented elegantly but it's definitely not your typical Long Island food. I like how they spun their dishes with some upbeat urban city style. The homemade ricotta with honey on toast was a must! That was the highlight in my eyes. Our waiter Brendan suggested we get it and I'm so glad he did. Brendan informed us on everything and made me feel at home. So good service is also a plus for this establishment. But there is a very chill factor for dining outdoor on a cool evening with lights and mellow vibe. Service was great, wait staff were young but very eager to please. It was already very full. I'm glad I wasn't disappointed. It's not a creative menu but the food is very good. It's well cooked and taste great. My only fault would be the focaccia. It was too salty. Luckily it was sprinkled on the top and it was sea salt so you can pick it off. It was very crispy and it had the right amount of olive oil. The duck nachos were very good also. Lots of duck. The skate was cooked well. Melt in your mouth. The cauliflower still had a snap with a touch of lemon. I hate overcooked vegetables. The crab Bucatini was the special of the night. It had a lot of crab. The Bucatini they made themselves. Decor was nice, very nature friendly. Service was excellent. Server came by enough times but not intrusive. Fantastic. I have been looking for a restaurant like this on Long Island...in Nassau...for so long. There is such a lack of quality mid-upscale restaurants in this area. Everything we ordered was delicious. Poutine, ramen, toast trio, beet salad, and braised short rib. I would have given 5 stars, however I felt as though the entree selection was lacking and didn't have as much flair as the starters. I would love to see a better selection of fish...skate is a bottom feeder mud fish; and the salmon and scallops were basic dishes. We had a difficult time picking an entree from each section. I bookmarked Copperhill over a year ago and finally was able to try it recently. What a pleasure! Copperhill is beautifully decorated, unique, and has the rare magic of making you forget you're on Long Island. The menu is dynamic but the options were all really accessible. I had a hard time picking what to dine on because everything sounded great. My cocktail of the night was the Beast of Burden. It was like a lighter, more refreshing Moscow Mule without the spiciness of ginger that sometimes ruins a Moscow Mule for me. I could have downed one thousand Beast of Burden cocktails because it was SO good. My friend and I shared the Porchetta for Two. The description of how it was prepared sounded amazing. Unfortunately, I think it was a bit overdone and so the inner pork tenderloin portion was dry. The pork belly on the outside was outstanding and had a perfectly crisp edge and made up for the tenderloin. The grits were also outstanding! The broccoli rabe was not my favorite and, in my opinion, was undercooked with a strange porky flavor (not good porky like porchetta, more like bad smoke). Still, it was a beautiful plate and fun dining experience. Everyone else in our party loved their entrees. Dessert was the chocolate hazelnut mousse. Absolutely perfect. Nothing but love for this mousse! Coffee was fine. One random weird note about the bread (that seems almost silly to mention but has stuck in my head): We had been seated in the restaurant at our table for one drink while waiting for the last person in our party. We weren't given rolls until everyone had arrived (about thirty minutes in) and we were already on to drink two. I get that they don't want to give rolls away for free, but we'd already committed to multiple drinks and had been there for a while. Then when the bread came out, it was not warm. It just struck me odd to be strict about rolls because the overall vibe of Copperhill is so welcoming and chill. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive, and really made us feel taken care of.
