Love this place! The menu is diverse, you can find something for everyone. The drinks are fabulous. I was in the mood for a mocktail and they just asked what my flavor profile was and made the drink accordingly. My one issue is that you can't make reservations in advance which can make planning more difficult.

Copycat was such a fun spot! The vibe is cozy, small, and a little tight, but that just adds to the energy. They don't take reservations, but they do have a back patio which is a nice option. Drinks were solid and the food was definitely a highlight. We tried the crab fried rice (huge portion!), chicken skewers (lots of cumin flavor, not really my thing), pea shoots, and the triple delight potstickers which were amazingggggggg. Overall, great atmosphere and good food. Definitely worth checking out if you're in DC!

I literally crave the Beef Noodles. These hand-pulled noodles are perfectly spicy and garlicky. I've also had the Crab Fried Rice, Salt N Pepper Shrimp (which is always spicy and comes with rice), as well as the Pea Shoots, that come with rice as well. Honestly, you can't go wrong anything on the menu, just be mindful of your spice level. The cocktails are also amazing! I've had the Ex Pat, which is Bourbon-based and the 27 Swizzler, which is Rum-based. I recommend both!

Copycat is a super cozy and charming spot that consistently has delicious craft cocktails and delicious food. The chili wontons are my absolute go-to and they're packed with flavor and a must try. The bar area by the bar is super tight especially during busy times. It can definitely feel cramped with guests moving around so I recommend finding a spot downstairs. The service is kind of all over the place. I've had both excellent and meh experiences depending on the server, and based on other reviews, it seems that's a common theme. Still, the food and drinks are reliably good which keeps me coming back and definitely worth checking out.

A Hidden Gem for Cocktails in DC After an amazing dinner, finding a great bar to continue the night is a must, and I'm so glad we followed our ramen spot's recommendation. They claimed it was one of DC's best cocktail bars, so of course, we had to check it out. This bar is first-come, first-served, so if you want a patio table or a good indoor spot, arrive early and be prepared to wait. Being on the second floor, the space is tight, but it adds to the intimate ambiance--perfect for a girlfriend hangout or a date night. The lighting is dim and moody, setting the perfect tone for a cozy evening. I told the bartender I'm an Old-Fashioned girl, and he surprised me with a Sazerac--a New Orleans twist on my go-to cocktail that I rarely see on the East Coast. It was phenomenal. My friend wanted something sweeter, so she first got a Hot Toddy, but when it wasn't quite her style, the bartender thoughtfully crafted another fruit-forward drink, which she loved. The level of attention to detail and skill in mixing these drinks was next level--some of the best cocktails I've ever had. A Little Something to Eat We also ordered the somber soup, which was like a pork dumpling soup without noodles--a perfect balance to our drinks. However, the wait for food was long--over an hour. Because of this, they comped both our food and drinks, which was unexpected but appreciated. Final Thoughts I'd definitely return for the drinks and atmosphere, but keep in mind: *Come early if you want a seat without a long wait. *It gets crowded and loud, so it's not a quiet wine bar experience. *Service is thoughtful, but food can take a while. Even though I didn't see our final bill, I'd estimate it would have been around $80 assuming an auto-tipping policy. Regardless, the cocktails alone make this spot worth visiting--it truly lives up to the hype.

Amaazing drinks and mocktails! We even asked the bartender to freestyle and they so happily created the most delicious drinks I've ever had. The food is okay. My favorite are the dan dan noodles and fried rice. The food wont be the highlight of your experience but I appreciate a bar with some good food during a night of drinking. I also love the cozy and romantic feel of this bar. The tiki theme is also a fun touch. Definitely worth the try!

Cute date night spot! Small, dim and delicious. The goldfish as a starter is so random, but I love it. The bramble was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while! Lightly sweet and strong. For my main, I had the gong bao chicken and it was so saucy in delicious! My boyfriend had the fried ribs, which was also pretty good. Would reco if you're nearby.

Great place for a date! The lighting is romantic and the food is amazing! The drinks are also good. I was constantly checked on by the servers and was never left trying to find a server or looking for help. They're so friendly! Highly recommend the chili wontons!

Copycat is a low key cocktail bar with delicious Chinese food. The space is kinda small so you won't be able to host a large party there. I enjoyed the beef noodles, it was very bold and flavorful. I Also ordered the walnut shrimp, the ingredients were fresh. I suggest stopping by if you are meeting up with a friend for dinner and want great food.

Perfect spot for a vibey date night or drinks with a friend! Ambiance & Service: Small, intimate, and dimly lit with a moody vibe I loved. We waited at the bar but managed to snag a table. Service was a bit slow but understandable given how busy they were. Food & Drink: - Caipirinha: Refreshing with the perfect balance of lime and sweetness. - Impossible Mapo Tofu: Flavorful, spicy, and filling! The tofu was perfectly soft, and the impossible meat elevated the dish. A must-order! TL;DR: Great vibe, delicious food--try the Impossible Mapo Tofu!

I've been to Astoria and copycat several times and they never let me down. So good and so spicy! Love every dish and the drinks are so fun.

Honestly, the food here deserves the five stars. The fried ribs were DELISH. The portion was big. It was fried to perfection and the meat on the inside was succulent. The salsa on top added a refreshing herby taste. The rice complemented the meat well. I'm eager to try Astoria since they have essentially the same menu. One dish ranges in 20s/30s so it's a little pricey to me but it's worth it because the portions are a good size.

Copycat Co is a quaint upstairs bar worthy of a drop in. While the menu can feel a little overwhelming, the drinks did NOT disappoint. I had the "Black Shack" which was pretty good, but a just ever so sliiightly on the weak side. Followed by the Tradewinds Negroni which may very well have been the best Negroni I've ever had. Seriously. Definitely stop by Copycat if you're in the neighborhood.

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

Providencia has been on my to-try list forever, originally recommended by a bartender friend ages ago, and it wasn't until a recent trip that I finally was able to work it into my schedule to come for pre-dinner drinks and light bites. The spot is tucked away in a back alley off H Street, and honestly I'm not sure I would've found it if my Uber hadn't dropped me at the door. Reservations are required and you have to put down a $10 nonrefundable deposit that goes toward your bill, which makes sense because the space is small. Ideal for 1-3 people, not a group spot. The Salvadoran/Taiwanese flavor combo infused throughout this menu is its calling card. It's such a unique flavor combination and genuinely something I haven't seen before, and the menu does a beautiful job of letting both cuisines shine without one overpowering the other. The drinks are inventive but actually well-balanced, and the food does the same thing in small, snack-y portions perfect for pairing with tasty cocktails. My (kind of indulgent, but well-worth it) pre-dinner drinks order: - Lights of the Night Market (Ford's gin, Mal Bien mezcal, genepy, pandan, coconut). A great intro to how well the Salvadoran/Taiwanese flavors play together. The pandan is so pleasant here without being overpowering. - Run Bing with Nai Nai (Salvadoran white rum, Nardini rabarbaro, Licor 43, mazapán, oolong tea, lemon, milk, served with a little mazapán candy on the side). Nutty, beautifully balanced, sweeter than I normally go for but so unique and well-made that I didn't mind it at all. - The Big Chip and Salsa (tomatillo salsa, matcha chip): So fun and so tasty, a great small bite if you don't want real food. - Roasted eggplant pupusa (eggplant, squash blossom, gruyère, tomatillo). SO delicious. A really lovely mix of salty, tangy, and sweet! I'd come back just for this. - Plantain & hojicha tiramisu. Looked like a work of art, incredibly tasty but not heavy. The hojicha flavor is lovely and light and works so well with the plantain. It doesn't taste overly banana-y, which is always a worry of mine with plantain desserts. Overall, Providencia is doing something genuinely different flavor-wise than any other cocktail bar in DC right now and doing it extremely well. The cocktails are creative without feeling gimmicky, the food is thoughtful and delicious, and the whole experience feels intimate, cozy, laid back, and personable. The staff was so kind and helpful. For a solid hour, you're like, "Wow... I am bougie like they say." Then the bartender calls out "Last call!" And as you take one final dramatic sip of your fancy drink, the lights come on like someone just hit the emergency button and whoa. Wait just one minute, I don't want to go home. That's when the migration begins. In Union Market, there's a place where all the local residents take their talents once the posh restaurants shut down and that place is Last Call Bar, the bar that welcomes you and your rapidly declining standards with open arms. And the food? Oh, the food is a spiritual journey. They kick things off with Jell‑O shots, which already tells you exactly what kind of night you're about to have. But it gets even better. They have food and the menu is full of options only a person who drank 5 cocktails could truly appreciate, the kind of late‑night masterpieces that would horrify you at noon but taste like gourmet brilliance after midnight. I'll take a hot dog please! The vibe is pure "we should've gone home but didn't" energy. The music is loud enough to drown out your responsibilities. The crowd is a mix of restaurant refugees, people who swore they were having an early night, and folks who are definitely lying to themselves about how early they have to wake up. It's a diverse crowd. More on the younger side but a sprinkle of adults that have kids in college or corporate jobs. The bartenders deserve awards for dealing with customers who insist they're "totally fine" while holding onto the bar like it's a support beam. And honestly? That's the magic. The best memories happen during the real happy hours of our days, bedtime hours, when you're either having way too much fun in the sheets or making the kind of decisions you'll laugh about (or regret) the next day. Last Call Bar isn't curated. It isn't polished. It isn't pretending. It's the place where your bougie persona quietly steps aside and you says, "Let's get a hot dog".
