Brian was the first to respond to my inquiry, and I'm so grateful for that because he's nothing short of amazing. He answered all of my questions, concerns, and even provided his own expertise advice, even if that meant a lower invoice in the end. Apparently they get to police what you can color copy or not. I need to get color copies of specific assets notarized and they think I'm going around making fake ids or something. Update: Just went across the way to UPS and got the job (color + notary) done there. Copymat step your game up. read more

I have been coming to this place for years and the man who attempted to service me today on Tuesday the 8th 2pm was so rude, Dismissive, and condescending when speaking with me about getting some prints made. I'm not someone who's very good with language around computers or what type of email formats need to be sent and I really felt that he was just talking down to me and made me feel unwelcome. What a blessing these folks are! I used to come here to have them print out handouts for my students, but haven't been here in some time. The other day I was in the final stages of revising a book - when my printer died! In a panic, I headed to Copymat with the essential chapters on a thumbdrive, in a very old Word program that they patiently and thoughtfully reformatted. Quick, cheap, professional. Unlike some other places around Oakland (ahemFedExcough) these guys appear to have an operational knowledge of the machinery that surrounds them every day. You're not going to have to download some software onto your computer to print. You're not even going to have to bring a thumb drive; they'll gladly lend you one. Brian & Martin... After calling around to multiple printing locations this place was all about making my dilemma work. Granted I was working on borrowed time but Brian was extremely innovative by asking me to email him my file to save some time. While it was printing I was off picking up some more components. When I arrived Brian took it upon himself to help me assemble all my pieces. I literally was on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. Brian is helpful and informative but a little bit irritable. His work product is great and he pays tremendous attention to projects I give him and always calls if he has questions before moving forward. Copy mat gives more bang for the buck especially if you work in the world of deadlines and discovery. I choose them over Quivix, FedEx, Copy Connection, and boutique office solutions that charge exorbitant fees for pretty much everything. Extra staple? 5 cents! So far so good; they wrote back to my request for a quote quickly and with a price half that of FedEx Office's :) The lamination was super light and good quality. I taped the laminated posters I ordered to a sandwich board, which then got run over by a car! the posters survived unscathed! read more

Copy Mat is 1/2 block from my office and I go there for all kinds of jobs, usu. when I need something for myself and I'm not using the copiers at work. They are friendly, efficient, and highly responsive. I usually email them a PDF with a request for copy the same day and they always deliver. For really "rush" jobs, make sure to follow up your email w/ a courtesy call to confirm they can do it for you in your timeline. read more
