This was one of my favorite food stops during my Oʻahu trip. After exploring Kualoa Ranch, I followed the smell of grilled chicken and ended up at Yummy Huli Huli Chicken. Shopping in Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i... Coral Kingdom is actually a store with t-shirts, jewelry, Aloha shirts, and other items that tourists might want. In the past five years, Coral Kingdom added on the hulihuli chicken restaurant. The smoke from the outdoor grill draws in the customers who are hungry and need a restroom. There's a free parking lot outside and wonderful air conditioning inside with a clean, spacious dining area and renovated restrooms. The Hulihiluli chicken is cooked the traditional way--slow-roasted over kiawe wood--and it's flavorful, tender, and never dry. You can even watch them prepare it right in front of the store. I will stop for huli huli chicken. The smoke in the air and smell of bbq lure me in every time. The huli huli chicken at Coral Kingdom is a smaller, leaner bird or maybe I'm just accustomed to oversized rotisserie chickens. That smaller size allows the smoke to permeate through the skin and meat to the bones. It also means more skin to meat ratio, and the crispy skin is the best part. The chicken comes with a seasoned, sweet soy sauce on the side, but I skipped it, I liked the chicken, simple and as is. You can get the chicken whole or they will chop it up for you. Coral Kingdom is a food counter and souvenir/gift shop located by Kualoa Ranch. You'll see a man roasting the chickens fresh outside in the front. You place your order at the counter and wait for your number to appear and grab your order then a seat. They have tables inside and outside. There are also restrooms inside. The Huli Huli chicken is so tasty. The marinade is flavorful and the sauce for dipping/pouring adds even more flavor. The macaroni salad is tangy and balances out the sweetness from the Huli Huli chicken. The service is great and you can be in and out quickly. In Kamehameha Highway. Restaurant has an extension of gift shop. We saw this place everytime on our 2 trips in Oahu and we finally stopped by to try them. It did not disappoint. Which is odd to find in Hawaii because they are mostly welcoming, not this particular guy. Inside seating is limited. Half of it has a reserved sign, so if you come here on a busy time you won't be able to dine in. Food: Huli huli chicken- is the best! Moist and cooked perfectly! Highly recommended and I gave it a solid 5 stars! Seasoning is well balanced, every bite is enjoyable. This is a must try. Fried snapper- I was surprised of how moist and fresh this fried snapper. It lacks of seasoning but not in a bad way as long as you pair it with the mac salad. Not overcooked. Beef Teriyaki- this is my least favorite. Nothing special, the beef is a little overcooked and became chewy. I gave it a 2 stars. Parking- is not so bad. Restaurant is located on the side of the main street, that can be hard to miss if you have no GPS. read more

You can't miss this place. The yummy huli huli chicken is grilled right in front of the Coral Kingdom shop on Kamehameha Hwy. There is lots of parking and once you get out of your car, you can smell that huli huli chicken. You enter the gift shop which is filled with all sorts of trinkets, clothing, accessories, jewelry and Hawaiian souvenirs. There is a food counter where you order your food. Huli huli chicken isn't the only thing on the menu. There is garlic shrimp and sautéed battered fish to name a few. But of course the huli huli chicken is the highlight of the menu. The cashier who took our order was super friendly. In fact the sales associates were all so friendly and greeted everyone entering the shop. There is indoor seating which is nice. As for the food, it was delicious. We had the huli huli chicken plate and the fish. Both were tasty and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great place for Hawaiian food on your way to Kualoa Ranch. If you like chicken and rice this is your spot. Their fire-roasted huli huli chicken is delish! The chicken itself is lean, moist, and the skin is cooked nicely with no fat. The half chicken huli huli plate comes with rice, huli dipping sauce and macaroni salad. You can spot this restaurant from the road where you'll see chickens roasting on a spit in front of the restaurant. If you don't like chicken they also have shrimp dishes. I am not a huge shrimp fan, but something told me I had to try it. It did not disappoint! The flavors were amazing and the shrimp tasted so fresh! There was also a spicy kick to the sauce. I accidentally discovered Coral Kingdom while driving around Oahu a year ago. It honestly doesn't look like a place I would usually eat; the space itself is mainly a gift/jewelry shop with a counter inside. I've literally driven by this place a hundred times and finally decided to check it out. Coral Kingdom is a huge gift shop with huli huli chicken that is smoking on a massive grill outside. We ordered two plates of chicken which came with macaroni salad and the sauce on the side. The chicken was pretty damn tasty, albeit slight dry in places. The sauce was really good-- wish I had more of it. They also have beer which is a plus. One star deduction for the outside seating area with the most aggressive "top gun" dive bombing flies I've ever encountered. It was hard to eat with one hand while simultaneously swatting flies with the other. Pro Tip: Take it to go and find a nearby beach with a breeze and a better view. read more

As you drive on the highway you can see the smoke from the huli huli chicken cooking on the grills. They cook the chicken on a rotisserie over mesquite wood and it smells heavenly. Coral Kingdom gift shop has a restaurant that serves chicken, shrimp and beef. The most popular item by far seems to be the huli huli chicken. There are tables outside for seating. They also have a number of tables set up inside but I think they reserve these for tour bus customers. You order and pay and the counter and you can either take out or try to find a seat at one of their outdoor tables. It was busy when we went so we waited about 20 minutes for our chicken. We were able to get a table outside. The chicken came with macaroni salad, rice and a small container of additional huli huli sauce. You can also buy additional sauce. It was very enjoyable eating the chicken outside. The chicken was very good. It is not the best huli huli chicken that I've had but it was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They do have washrooms towards the back of the gift shop. read more

When I tried to order it, they refused. They made some excuse like they don't have a computer code for it or they don't have a container for it for some nonsense. This place is a nice stop to and/or from Kualoa Ranch. It has a private parking lot with ample spots. It has a decent gift shop as well as a decent restaurant. The gift shop has a wide range of items including tshirts, magnets, figurines, shells..., They are a bit pricey, but the prices are not hidden. The staff there was very friendly. I bought a magnet, just because it looked cool and I have not seen it anywhere before. The food at the restaurant is good. I got the cabbage and pulled pork special. It was ok. They also have burgers, fries, shrimp, hotdogs... The food here is reasonably priced. They also sell snacks, banana bread, cookies, candy and chips. The dining area was pretty empty and clean. My friends and I visited Hawaii for the first time October 2022 and after we visited Kualoa ranch we decided to stop here for lunch and we all loved it! So much that after my Japan trip a few days ago I had a layover in Honolulu for 14 hours me and my girlfriend decided to drive up and eat here because of how much we liked it the first time and sure enough it was just as amazing as the first time. This was our second time visiting Coral Kingdom-both times as a stop on the All of Ohau bus tour. It's not a place I would stop at if it was not on the pre-determined itinerary of a tour I am on. I'm certain that they contract with the tour companies and rely on large masses of tourist arriving by bus to stay in business. The souvenirs they sell are extremely dated, tacky and overpriced. However, the customer service is very attentive-if you happen to be looking at anything, you're guaranteed to have someone at your side ready to upsell you at any moment. The cafe part of the establishment is likely what keeps them in business. People have to eat, and there are not many options on this side of the island. The food is ok-not amazing, but acceptable. We stuck with the traditional cheeseburger option, not feeling very adventurous. But the chicken that some of the other people on our tour got did look good. read more

Little startled by the low reviews. My wife and i were hungry, on this back-road highway when I saw smoke riising form an open-pit BBQ, so I pulled in. My wife ordered, the half chicken, I ordered the garlic shrimp. Both were outstanding. Both came with a scoop of macaroni salad and a scoop of of white rice. They also provided a teriyaki based sauce (they had a a name for it, something like Hoi, hoi sauce or similar, not important to this story. The food is great. It was raining on our vacation so we decided to just drive around and explore Oahu. We ended up near the kualoa ranch area and saw a man roasting chickens outside. It looked so good so we pulled over and parked. It's a shared space with a souvenir/gift shop but everyone was super friendly including the old Asian lady taking our order and the young Asian man who prepared our order. We got their huli huli chicken and it was the best chicken I've ever had! The chicken was so tender but the skin was perfectly roasted and crunchy :). Also the rice here hits. I don't know what it is. But rice in Hawaii tastes sooo much better than on the continental US. The Mac salad was delicious as well. I enjoy shopping and at the same time dining at this store. We enjoyed the garlic shrimp and mahi-mahi sandwich that we ordered (forgot to take photos because we are in a rush). Thank you to a fellow Pinoy who took our orders and assisted us. Aside from a little cute "homey" restaurant inside the shop they also carry unique gift souvenirs though a little too pricey in comparison with ABC stores.
