Sadly I was a patient with this chop shop dentist for far too many years. The last straw was after 2 years of being out of work I finally landed a job and got insurance. I called to come in for a cleaning. The hygenist used scare tactics telling me my front teeth were all cracking and I would need 6 front crowns or veneers. She then proceeded to do a light cleaning and took pics all around. For this I ended up being charged $760. Also my main reason for going in was that I had 2 missing crowns. Immediately the dentist said he would need to replace the upper 2 good crowns before being able to address the missing crowns because my bite had changed. For this they wanted $3600 ($1800 per crown). That was all I needed to hear. I formally told them I was done and to give me my X-rays. I went to another dentist who dismissed all they said as false/unnecessary and ended up getting both missing crowns replaced for $1700 ($850 per crown). I can't believe the professionalism of the staff and kindnesses the doctor. I am a stage 4 Cancer patient and due to my treatments throughout my cancer journey caused me tooth concerns and needed a good Dentist to which my insurance referred me to, made the phone call, and from that one call Mary made me feel extremely comfortable and understood my need and how important it was for me to see the Dentist immediately especially in this health crisis the world is in. My dental plan did not cover the service I need but let me tell you, the doctor bless me by working it out and made it possible for me to Get afford and pay for the service needed. I went for my annual check up and Zoom whitening in the fall and then again for the 6 month cleaning in February. I always had very sensitive teeth that became even more sensitive over the years. During my Zoom whitening, I always had a technician check on me to make sure I was comfortable. Zoom every two year with their "white for life" whitening works really well. The technician was extremely nice, when I came back 6 months later she actually prepared for my visit -- she remembered that I had sensitive teeth so she had crest sense stop strips prepared for me! Was very touched. Not sure why other reviewers are so opposed to cancer screening? It is an option and can actually save your life... I read their website before going there for a cleaning (this place is close to home than my usual dentist I went for 11 years). Hygienist were awesome,took x-rays, was being told I need to go back for fillings. Went there 2 other times for a simple fillings, 2 different ( new grad) worked on my fillings each time. 1 of them messed up my tooth it started to hurt so much, said I needed a root canal. Called the office requested the Corbin brothers for next visit. The office Manager Mary(rude lady) told me Dr Corbin DOESN'T do fillings, but he will be in the building if I need him. I canceled my appointment. 5 months later I received a bill for $900 from them! I've had my insurance for 11 yr NEVER paid a dime for simple fillings!! This practice should be ashamed of themselves. They do not call to confirm an appointment the day prior the way most physicians and dentists do. They invoiced $90 for a no-show appointment. Not only is that more than what the insurance would pay them for the cleaning, but there is a balance on the account that they owe me because they charged me for something that the insurance company also paid for. I am very disatisfied with their customer service. I stopped going about 3 months ago, the harrased me for the entire first month, and now I ge this bill. I needed a procedure done and that was fine. No problem. I'm okay with that. Here's what I didn't like. I didn't like the money hungry aspect of this place. Granted, it's a business. i understand that. What I didn't like is that while I was sitting in the chair, the heavy set woman from the back came in to talk money with me and told me they need it all now. I felt like I was being shaken down. I wasn't happy with that, but was actually more disgusted that while talking to me she proceeded to continually pick wax out of her right ear and look at it repeatedly. Uh, not very professional. I'm extremely disappointed with this dental group! Very unprofessional. The dentists are barely there, they have their assistants doing their work for them. Not only do these assistants not know what they're doing but are trying to do dental work on patients that the dentists should be doing! They are also shady with money being paid upfront in full before they even start dental treatments/procedures, I suppose this wouldn't be so bad if the actual dentists did the dental work for you instead of the assistants, which you keep going back numerous of times because they have no idea what they're doing and it becomes one problem after another. As far as the office manager Mary goes she could learn to be a bit nicer, she's a bully! Always tries to intimidate the patients trying to make you spend more money than you should in a very aggressive tone! Trying to force you to get extra dental work done that is not needed! The worst healthcare experience I've ever had. All they do is try to sell you on unnecessary screenings and products. Then they recommended almost 1000 in dental work I do not need! I went for a cleaning, no complaints and they told me I needed all my old filled cavities replaced. Then told me that I should take a week off from work to have my wisdom teeth removed, and I don't even feel them! It was clear from the moment I sat down in the chair that they are a business and not a honest healthcare facility. I will never go back! All I can say is that for someone coming all the way from Staten Island, who bought the Invisalign from them (still not 100% sure I needed them) and has been going to them for at least 6 years, to tell me that I had to reschedule my appointment after I was 17 min late, is totally unacceptable. Very sad about this, but they definitely lost a patient. And here is a tip, why not state your lateness policy when you book the appointment or confirm it??? Let me just say that its taken me a while to finally get around to writing this review but I promised myself that I would because of the complete lack of professionalism that I experienced by the staff here, one in particular "Mary". She single-handedly ruined my opinion of this office with her rude and aggressive behavior. I will NEVER return. I had to cancel more than one of my appointments because of a demanding and unpredictable work schedule which I informed the staff of. When I called to cancel I was transferred to Mary for a very unprofessional and condescending scolding. I was already a bit guarded with her because of the aggressive way she tried to push financing on me through their own company like a dealer selling crack. Makes me wonder how much commission is involved for her. She was also conveniently vague with details when it came to my chart/billing. Not acceptable. The Corbin Family would be better served if they trained their staff on how to conduct themselves and if they knew when it was time to get rid of a nightmare employee who drives patients away. Many years ago I had the worst dental experience of my life at the Corbin brothers dental. The story is far too long to mention here in detail, but to summarize: They messed up my mouth, lied to my face, altered my charts, broke the law, and got away with it. Okay, a quick version: One of their associate dentists messed up a filling, ultimately resulting in me needing a root canal (the only one in my life). I got a second opinion and found that he even put the filling in the WRONG tooth, according to their own treatment plan! That's not even the worst part. The worst part is that when I went to confront them and ask for my charts, their slippery office manager Mary convinced me that there was a legal restriction preventing them from giving me my charts - this is an outright lie, and I still have her saying it on tape! Unfortunately, in the time it took me to call the ADA, they had completely rewritten my chart to cover their asses. I discovered after the fact that this same dentist was on probation with the NYS Office of Professions for misconduct (ask me and I'll send you a link). The reason? Keeping inaccurate charts!!! I couldn't prove it to the inept NYS employee, so he kept his license and remained employed at Corbin for I don't know how long. I then found out that it's practically impossible to successfully sue a dentist in small claims court. My big regret is that I didn't discover that lodging a complaint against Mary directly was an option until after the 1 year reporting limit had expired. I'll send you a recording or transcript of this jerk lying to my face if you message me to ask. A word to the wise: they are legally required to provide you with your charts immediately if you ask. My wife, children, and I have been using them for a long time. We moved out to Long Island and still return for dentistry. My wife has had a lot of work done and doesn't mind going back. they saved us from a surgery through extended treatment vs surgery. (and saved me money) They work with my insurance. I saw good reviews for this dentist office and figured I could not go wrong. But when i arrived, the women in the office seemed aggravated and I soon realized that they seem to all get annoyed with eachother....which was disconcerting. But then I saw the hygenist who cleaned my teeth and kept trying to sell me things such as oral cancer screenings and scalings that I dont really need (which I later learned from another dentist who looked at my teeth). I didn't even know what these things were before going to this office! Then I had to go back to have 2 cavities filled, but halfway though the 2nd cavity, the dentist suddenly stopped and told me that its not a cavity, its a root canal and I need to go see someone else because he doesnt do anything like that. I was traumatized! Now with a hole in my mouth, I called the specialist he told me to call and the office there had an even WORSE attitute! Corbin dental employees are unhappy and crabby people and the Corbin brothers are unemotional and don't explain anything. I was so unhappy I swore I would never go back. Luckily someone recommended me to a wonderful and kind dentist that was breath of fresh air. Now for the last 3 weeks I have been trying to get the Corbin office to email my full set of xrays they took so I can transfer it to the new dentist. I have YET to have this done, but they keep telling me they will. So horrible to deal with. DO not go here!! It is a dentist house of horrors. read more

I give 1 star for the dentist and hygienist as are professional & for the most part know what they are doing. However the receptionist/ office manager Mary is the worst possible person to deal with. If unfortunately you get her on the phone or need to talk to her about appointments & insurance, I warn you ... you will feel frustrated. She is extremely unprofessional and just a plain NASTY person. She hates her job and it shows. If I didn't have to finish my Invisalign treatment, I would never go back ! I'm only giving them one star because the receptionists were nice and the office was clean. This is the WORST dentist I have ever been to. They (the hygenist and billing specialist) made fun of my pre-existing conditions, my teeth (told me I had bad teeth and needed 3 cleanings which my insurance wouldn't pay for!), and then my insurance! They basically told me that I needed $2000 worth of dental work that I didn't need all the while trying to shame me into paying! I went to another doctor for a second opinion. I have 1 cavity not 2, only need a filling, not some $640 specialty filling, and he said my teeth were in great condition (I've always been told this, so I was VERy surprised to hear that I needed more cleanings than my fiance who smoked for 15 years and has gingivitis!). At the end of the visit, the baby dentist (I tried to be open-minded, thinking, okay he's young, but he graduated from dental school maybe he has up to date information) came in and the hygenist pointed to my xrays and told him I had 2 cavities and all the work I needed. He passively agreed. It was like he really didn't know, he was just taking her word for it. Then he gave me the most limp handshake I have ever had. I don't know why, but it really bugged me.
